Chapter 62

"Hello Ms Balan. I hadn't seen you for a while and thought you had moved away. I am just filling a plate for Radha. If being considerate of a pregnant wife is being a hen picked husband, then I suppose I am one. You can call me whatever names you want to. I just have to do what I need to do for my wife. Why don't you join us at the table? I don't think you have really met Radha."

Ms Balan while not relishing having Radha at the same table, was delighted to be able to grab some of the dashing man's attention. "Radha, Ms Balan was by herself and so I invited her to join us." Radha smiles at her but focuses on the plate the LD has set before her. "Thanks LD. I was afraid you would bring something oily." "Sweetheart, I know your tastes and what you can manage while pregnant. So I turned down the pooris and got the dosa. Now be a good girl and make sure your plate is empty." Ms Balan feels left out but she is too brazen to care.

"Ms Balan, did you know that Radha was the heroine of a blockbuster movie? She acted in Kabir Kapoor's movie. He signed her up for five more movies. She had such a promising career but decided that that life was not for her. She preferred to help me with my business. She enrolled into the MBA programme of the prestigious Horizon Memorial College and went on to win the gold medal. And she managed to do that when she was pregnant with our daughter Charu and was working almost full time in my company."

"Come on Mr C. I think you are singing extravagant praises of Radha." "Oh I could never sing enough praises of Radha. She has done so much for me and my family. She solved the misunderstanding between my brother and Bhabhi. She got my sister married. When I had been kidnapped and been given up for dead by my own parents, she found where my abductor had kept me confined and got me out of his clutches. And she did this all by herself. And you know when I had my accident, she never left my side. But I am sure you would have done similar things for your husband."

Ms Balan is silent. She had never cared about her husband. She had used him as a stepping stone to promote her own career and then dumped him when he didn't have anything more to offer taking all his assets in the bargain. "Sweetheart, you have been good. You have eaten everything on your plate. I saw they were going to make hot jelebis for dessert. I'll get you some. Ms Balan, shall I get you some also?" "No thanks. I cannot afford to put on weight." "How unlucky. I'll be back in a jiffy."

"You think that you have a hold on him do you? A man like Mr C needs a woman with more sophistication." "A man like Mr C may be. But Mr C himself doesn't even think that there is any other woman in the world other than me. I feel sorry for you. You are dreaming of something that will never happen in this life time or the next."

"This is like the pot calling the kettle black. You are so insecure that at the first opportunity you have tried to consolidate your position by getting pregnant and tying Mr C down." "I am LD's life and his world starts and ends with me. But you will never understand this. You are not a woman who loves but one who uses."

"Ms Balan, you have never really been kind to my wife or children. You have taken every opportunity to insult her and treat my children like dirt. You are an avaricious woman. I could never understand why a man would leave his wife but having met you, I understand why some take such a drastic step. Radha do you want to tell Ms Balan the other good news."

"Sure. Mr Balan is going to join the school as the Head of the Physical Education department and manage the swimming programme of the school."

One second, if she is divorced and is Ms.Balan and her ex is Mr.Balan, does that mean she retained her husband's name after divorce? Balan, if you don't get out of their lives, I will not regret before punching you and pushing you out of the campus based on defamation cases. -_-

Radha and LD are so graceful and poised and know how to maintain composure. The last time I checked, it was Radha who had left LD and not him so how is she anchoring herself to LD? Balan needs a check!

Radha never shared the details of her separation with anyone apart from O'Brien and Vatsala. So Ms Balan wouldn't know not that she would care. She was eyeing LD only because he was rich.

If someone talks to me like this, then I would quietly walk away from there or probably not even reply and act if they are non-existent but seeing this lady, I dunno why I want to punch here. Who said Richness means anything at all? In the palaces of richness would lie a heart fearing the dangers.
