2.Clash of the titans!
"U may come inside and have a seat Mr.Shekawat...Make urself comfortable." Sanyukta said, a haughty smile adhered to her face.
"I will make myself comfortable as it is Ms.Agarwal." Randhir replied arrogantly, his eyes twinkling in victory.
Sanyukta was smitten by that arrogant raw charm of his! His alluring eyes compelled her to gaze into them, tempting her to mislay
herself control. Yeah in college, there were a few guys she liked, but that was a different thing altogether. She had never felt soo enticed to anyone before!
May be it was his "M the best " attitude that was taking her heart by storm. Or his cold attitude? She had never met someone so self centered and confident before. One look at him, and she knew he was lonely, she could clearly see the masquerade he wore.
But she had to calm the storm in her, as she was not the
sort of girl, who would surrender to her desires, just because a guy appeared tantalizing.
Infact she was just the contrary. To her, Love was a beautiful feeling, and physical intimacy was its outcome...
"May be u could just start the interview?" Randhir had been patiently waiting for almost 10 mins now, but Sanyukta did not seem to get
enough of her thoughts. He had noticed her gazing at him with utmost attention, and his worst fear had almost come true. Never in his wildest dreams had he envisaged, that a normal human would manage to look beyond his facade! But her gaze hinted at his worst fear coming true. Not wanting her to get a peek into the real him, he decided to interrupt her thoughts.
"Yeah sure." Sanyukta said, coming out of her trance, blinking her eyes way too many times, as if trying to concentrate.
"So, U have passed from..."
"FITE..I was the topper there." Randhir answered proudly.
"I m from IJT..I was the topper too.." Sanyukta smiled, and placed her hands on the table, leaning on it.
"Wel, every topper need not be intelligent.." came his quick reply, indirectly questioning Sanyukta's intelligence.
"I would have loved to prove my intelligence Mr.Shekawat...But u see, its u who has to be interviewed.." She replied condescendingly.
"Tell me one thing u cannot do?" She asked, looking into his eyes, trying to absorb his ego.
"I am capable of doing anything and everything Ms.Agarwal..." He replied, not once breaking the eye contact, hinting that he had comprehended the dreamy stare she had been showering him with.
"Itna arrogance kaha se laate ho?" She asked, attempting to ignore his flirtatious glare.
"Its in my blood!" He too leaned forward and placed his elbow on the table.
"Why should i hire u?" All of a sudden, Sanyukta was beginning to have fun interviewing him...Ideally, her questions should have been
on the engineering lines, but given his appearance, she knew he was intelligent. Yes, looks are deceptive, but she
was sure her judgement was perfect. She just knew it. All she wanted, was to learn was the reason for that enormous attitude he possessed!
May be it was because of his intelligence, she thought. Whatever the reason, his arrogant answers and raw charm were definitely leaving
her fascinated.
"As i said earlier, its u who needs me.." Randhir leaned further on the table, staring straight into sanyukta's eyes, teasing them. She felt her eyes drown in his, in search of any kind of emotion apart from pain and loneliness..But she found nothing. Staring further into them, she discovered determination in them...Determination to achieve his goal, his aim, his dream...Just like she did! That moment, Sanyukta couldn't help but relate to him. So he was very much like her...He concealed his true self behind aroogance, while she concealed her true self, behind her happiness.
Regaining her self control, she broke the eye contact, and looked at the his resume.
"Ok, v are going to work together on this new product, so u will have to keep ur attitude aside."
Sanyukta was done having fun, she knew it was time to talk serious business. She did not know why did she say yes to him, but she did.
Her only concern was his "m the best " attitude, though by now she had guessed, it was his arrogance that defined him.
"Il try...i cant promise.." He replied coldly, his tone clearly depicting his unwillingness.
"U will hve to try hard." Sanyukta wanted to make her stance clear- She was not the one who would silently bear his arrogance and dominance.
"I will try my best Ms.Agarwal." Randhir assured, though the unwillingness was still evident.
" My assistant will provide u with the contract, containing all details, read it carefully and then sign it." Sanyukta rose from her chair.
"Will do!!" Randhir replied, getting up, and advanced towards her.
"See you tomrw at 9..." He said, bringing his hand forward in anticipation of a hand shake...
Sanyukta gulped her throat...Coming into physical contact with him was not that great an idea, considering the storm inside her heart!
Though it was almost impossible for her to completely stay away from him, after all, they were going to work together there on!
She had to control those wild thoughts erupting in her mind!
Slowly, she too brought her hand forward, and they shook hands, saying hello to a new beginning...
