I got a very warm but extremely formal PM from her on my first day on IF and since then we have been best friends cum soul sisters. Part 9: Together we do wonders
She turned her head, only to come face to face with randhir?! Yes! Randhir!
S:Randhir! Tum yaha kya kar rahe ho! And how dare you come to our room. Kaustaki so rahi hai.
R: Shutup Farzi. Mujhe bolne toh diya karo before always jumping to conclusions! Kaustaki apne (sarcastically) pyaare Jiggy ke paas gayi hai ''time spend'' karne aur Jiggy ne mmujhe request kiya ki mein thodi dair unhe akela chod du. Isiliye mein yaaha aagaya shehr ka view enjoy karne ke liye.
S:(Sarcastically laughing) Shehr ka view ENJOY(Stresses on the word) karne ke liye?! Randhir Singh Shekhawat kuch enjoy bhi kar sakta hai? Wow!!
Randhir didn't snap back at her but instead snatched away the paper she was holding. He started reading the to-do list she'd made, with an amused smirk plastered on his face.
To Do List
1. Build area for shelter incase of rain.
2.Book professional dancers and singers for program entertainment.
3.Buy grocery stuff to prepare food specially for the sponsors and trustees.
4.Buy boquets to welcome the trustees and sponsors.
5.Get speaker phones and micro phones set up.
Randhir was quite amazed by Sanyukta's work although he didn;t say so. She'd taken note of almost everything needed for organizing the program.
R: List toh achi banaayi hai. Tum apne haatho se khaana banaogi trustees ke liye? Wow. Good. Tumhaara dimaag sahi track mein chal raha hai..yeh dream team aur engineering, yeh sab tumhaare liye bana nahi hai..tum khaana hi banaati raho. Vese Sanyukta, baaki sab toh theek hai but microphones and speakers kese lagaaogi? Bijli kese pohuchegi vaha and switches bhi nahi hai.
S: Randhir dimaag use karo. Circuit and swtich banaana koi badi baat nahi hai. But humein toh voh bhi nahi karna padega. Tumne shaayad notice nahi kiya par uss treehouse mein kaafi saare switchboards lage hue the. Aur electrical lines bhi attached the. Ab humeins irf yeh sochna hai ki electricity kaha se generate karein aur unn lines tak kese pohuchaaye.
Saying so, Sanyukta sighed in frustration.
She laid her head back on the cushion and stared up in the sky, admiring the twinkling stars. Randhir silently walked up to the sofa and took his seat beside her. He too started gazing up, admiring the moon and the stars.
Five minutes later both of them jumped up in joy and shouted together: ''The River!!'' . In their excitement and happiness, they forgot their enmity and hugged each othe rtightly. Slowly Sanyukta broke the hug and nervously pulled a few strands of her hair, behind her ear. To ward off the wave of awkwardness that they were feeling, Randhir quickly started speaking about their idea.
R: River. Jungle mein ek nadi thi jismein pehle se hi dam bane hue hai...
Sanyukta continued from where Randhir trailed off.
S: Humein bas ek transformer banaani hai jahaan electricity store ho jaaega..
R: Aur electrical lines toh pehle se hi hai. Bas ab humein unn lines ko transformer ke saath jod dena hai.
S: Right. Toh kal chale hum?
R: Huh? Kahaan?
S: Market. Transfer machine banaane ke liye enough time nahi hai humaare paas. Ek readymade vaala khareed lete hai aur saath mein bulbs,micro phones and speakers, decorative lights, lamps etc. Tab tak Parth aur Yoyo stage and shelter ka construction dekh lenge aur Jiggy-Kaustaki grocery shopping kar lenge and seating arrangements bhi.
R: Haan theeke. Vese Sanyukta. Jo envelope humein uss letter ke saath mila tha usme sirf Rs 10,000 the. Itna kum budget mein sab hojaega?
S: Mein bhi yahi soch rahi thi Randhir. Restaurant se khaana mangvaaenge toh cost kaafi zyaada aayega cause khaana bhi toh achaa hona padega. Toh mein soch rahi thi ke mein sab logo ke liye khaana banaa lu.
R: What?! FITE and CITE ke saare students and trustees and sponsors ko milaakar lagbhag 450-500 log honge. Itna zyaada khaana kese banaaogi?
S: Well Randhir construction of shelter and stage and purchase of transfer machine , bulbs etc will together amount to a lot. Humein khaane par toh atleast save down karna chahiye. And vese bhi tum hi toh kehte the ki ladkiyaan khaana pakaane aur ghar chalaane ke liye hi bani hai..so leave it upon me. I shall manage.
R: Haan Haan. Whatever. Vese Farzi...Kabhi Kabar rumhaara dimaag sahi disha par chalta hai xP Anyways, ab mein chalta hu. Varna agar unn dono love birds ka bas chale toh poori raat baat karte rahenge. Bye. Have very good NIGHTMARES.
S: (smiling) Same to you MCP. Bye.
--------Next Morning----------
After breakfast all of them separated in pairs to do the work Sanyukta had assigned to each of them. Sanyukta and Randhir spent the whole morning shopping for the required items. Then all of them met back at the hotel around 2:30 for lunch.
P: Guys stage kal tak ban jaaega. Shelter ban chuka hai. zaada kuch nahi kiya hai cause budget bhi dhyaan mein rakhna tha. Bas 6 poles lagaaya hai aur upar ek flat wooden roof fix kar diya hai.
S: Shelter ban gaya? Great! Randhir fir aaj raat , tum aur mein vahi treehouse mein ruk jaate hai?
All the students sitting on the table widen their eyes and drop their mouths open in shock, including Randhir.
S: Guys what? Noo...I dont mean that. I meant ki Randhir aur mujhe aaj ke aaj hi electricity generate kar lena chahiye taaki ek trial round bhi ho jaaega program kaa. Shelter ko twinkling lights ke saath decorate kar denge and uss area mein lights laga denge taaki kal se hum sab tree house mein raat ko thehr kar kaam kar sake.
R: Oh..Right. Time bachega. Jiggy, seating arrangements kar li?
J: Haan Randhir bhai. Humne chairs laga diye, shelter ke andar aur ek sofa bhi laga diya, trustees and sponsors ke liye.
P: Okay guys, fir tum dono jaao. Sanyukta, dinner pack kar lo. vaha bhooke nahi rehna chahiye tumhe.
-----------At Night in the jungle----------
Sanyukta and Randhir had worked for the entire evening, attaching the old electrical lines along with a few newly purchased ones , to the transformer. The device seemed to have some defects and so they had to repair that as well. Sanyukta arranged the lights around the wooden roof of the shelter, luckily without tripping, slipping or falling 😆
Finally at around midnight, Randhir switched on all the switches on the switchboard in the tree house. Sanyukta prayed fervently for all the lamps, to lit up. Bingo!! That particular part of the jungle, brightened entirely. The roof of the shelter was lit with pink, orange and gold lights. Inside the shelter, little lamps hung from the ceiling, brightening the atmosphere. Sanyukta had even twined some strings of multicoloured lights around the trunks of the trees surrounding the area. With her tree climbing skills she had winded a few blue lamp lights on the branches of the trees. A few stilts had been put up here and there with bright yellow lamps hanging from above them. These lamps help to lit up the path to the program area so that nobody would get lost.
Sanyukta and Randhir were delighted at the success of THEIR plan. They ate dinner and went inside the treehouse to get some sleep, with only one thought in their mind:
''No matter how much they hated each other, both of them had clever brains and together, they made a great team with perfect plans..and that was a fact! But wait...Did they actually hate each other anymore?''
They let time decide that and soon drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
