I am so nervous today. Today is the day virat will meet my parents? All day I was stopping and thinking that are we rushing this? Am I sure about virat? Should we really rebel with a big business tycoon? Like what if virat is serious and I am shoving myself into a problem that can get me killed.I JUST CAN'T DIE! I CAN NOT DIE! ATLEAST NOT AS A VIRGIN MAN! My phone started ringing and I shake my head, throwing my thoughts away and Pick it up. "Hello?" I ask. "Did you tell them yet?" a husky voice said. I smile a little realizing he is possibly my future husband. Wow this is hard to sink in. If this all works out me and virat will be legally married! Consummate! And much much more. Gosh! My blood rushes as I imagine everything in a blink.

"MANVI? YOU THERE?" he asks. I snap out of my thoughts. "Ya, umm Not yet I'll tell them right now" I say. "k k" he says and cuts the call. I make a face on his rude way of hanging up but I guess he is nervous and anxious just like me. I sigh looking at my phone and walk to my living room.

I take three deep breaths as I was just going to do the most extreme thing I ever did. I have always been an innocent simple girl who always followed mummy daddy's orders and today I was going to go against all their rules. "MOM DAD DABOO EVERYBODY COME OUT HERE "I SCREAM as loud as I could and shiver in nervousness. Everyone eventually comes out of their rooms with a questioned face. "Please sit down "I ask humbly and make everyone sit down on the sofas just to butter them u before I throw the big bomb.

"Beta what happened?" my dad asked. "Ok you guys know how I have always followed your rules, wore decent clothes, stayed away from guys, didn't party all night, stayed away from everything but this time I cannot follow your rules just for once and I swear if you give me time to explain it is not as bad as you might think! In fact it is not bad at all! Like how is me choosing my life partner wrong? Don't I have any say in it? Why is it so important for me to be tied down by arrange marriage?" I blab all in one breathe leaving my family in aghast. They just stare at me for minute and I just awkwardly stand there waiting for a reply. "Keep me out of this, I am leaving" daboo says breaking the silence and walks to his room. I puff my mouth as he leaves. " manvi where is this going?" my mom asks softly. "I am in love"I say in one blurt leaving my parents stunned. They were just staring at me with their eyes and mouth wide open. My dad stood up in a jerk. "Who is he? I am going to kill him!" he says and I swear I saw him loading a shotgun but I was just imagining that. "Omg dad chill please sit down let me explain first please" I say and make him sit. "Ok do you remember virat? viru? Ladoo? From panchgani?" I ask hoping they would remember. My mom stands up " woh vanshika aur vijay ka beta na?" she asks. I smile "yes "I say. "What about him?" my dad says with a grumpy voice not being convinced at all. "I met him this year in college and we really love each other " I say with a slow tone. " so?" my dad asks. " so ..." I say and stop not knowing what to say. Like it's not hard to figure out that if you love somebody you want to marry them but my dad was just not going in that direction. "beta we need to meet him and his parents" my mom says with a smile and I run to hug him . My dad was still grumpy. I hold my ears "please "I beg him. "Fine I will meet him but one bad quality and will kill him!" How typical! What is it with dads and killing like virats step dad is ready to kill me any day.

I rush to my room after that conversation and call virat right away and tell him the good news. "Tomorrow at 9 for dinner! Be at your best behavior and you have to just be an angel for my dad or else he will kill u! Literally!" I say. " haha fair enough" he says. I giggle and blush imagining what will happen tomorrow. "Hey I am getting another call, I'll call you latter k bye "I say and cut the call. It was jeevika calling me on the other line. I wanted to talk to her and tell her everything but I couldn't. I promised virat! I ignore her call. Luckily it was Sunday so I had no college so I didn't have to face her today but I knew I would have to eventually. I really never hid anything from her since I've known her like I tell her every single thing in my mind. She even knows my most personal things . She is way more than a best friend and usually when someone tells me not to tell anybody something I just say my best friend doesn't count' in my head but this time it wasn't a random persons secret, it's my love life! I can't ruin my relation with virat just to tell jeevika his secret. Like if I was in his place id kill him for telling his friends any of our private stuff. So I guess it's fair enough.

I sigh and crash into bed wearing my pjs. My cell phone beeps and I check it and it's a text from virat . I open it with curiosity. Hey girl go check your window'. "What the hell?" is the first thing that comes out from my mouth? I jump off my bed and rush to the window in excitement. I look here and there all confused and I came to a conclusion virat was just messing with me but then I saw it. I saw it on the sky! Fireworks spelled I love you' on the sky. I just opened my mouth in a big o and screamed. "Omg!!!" I yell and text virat right away. "Dude how? And where are you? idiott!!! I love you too" I reply. After a few minutes he replies:" haha don't ask how, let's just say this bad boy knows how to use rich daddys money. And I'm home sorry too nervous about tomorrow I am preparing for my exam so I couldn't personally come." I giggle while reading that. He is crazy he is actually preparing for meeting my parents tomorrow gosh I will be a wreck meeting his parents then. I hear a knock on my door and immediately shove my phone under my pillow. It was my mom!

She walks towards me silently and sits down on my bed. I fake a smile since I wanted to continue texting virat. "dekho manvi we always taught you that you have to follow our rules till you get married and that you would have an arrange marriage". She says slowly. " hmm" I agree . "beta since we are not forcing you on the arrange marriage thing and are giving you and virat full chance I just have one condition. How long have you known virat after growing up?" she asks. "Since the beginning of college this year, I told you." I say. She holds my hand "as in just a few months? Are you sure he is the one?" she asks. I shrug as I didn't know how to reply to that. Of course I am sure why would I take such a big step without thinking it through? I know him since as long as I can remember. I just look at my mom with a blank expression. "You know what we can do. If virat seems sensible tomorrow you can get engaged but let's wait for the wedding for at least a year so we can get to know virat better ok?" she says with a smile. "Mom we haven't even thought about the marriage yet we are just so stressed on getting everyone convinced and besides I am just 19 and he is 20 , we just started college we aren't going to rush this".

I and my mom talk all night. I told her that virats parents passed away a long time ago and she was shocked to know her old friends were not here anymore. I didn't mention anything about virats step parents. I can't tell her I am in love with a guy whose crazy uncle/step dad is willing to kill anybody from virats past. And the scary part is my parents are part of his past. I really don't get what virats step dad is getting from all this? Like what the hell it just doesn't make sense to me.

Next day:

I open my eyes a bit and just get a blurry vision of my room. I push the comforter off me as it was so hot. I feel a tap on my shoulder. I ignored it and just hid my face in the pillow. "Let me sleep mommy" I mumble. "WAKE UP BITCH" was yelled in my ear. And I jump up startled and breathe heavily. Jeevika was right in front of me. "WHAT THE HELL? DID YOU WANT TO KILL ME? AND HOW DID YOU GET IN?" I yell looking at my room's open door. Jeevika giggles. " haha antie let me in and shut up you are the one who wasn't picking up my call!" she says. I wipe my eyes with my hands and yawn "oh ". I say. Jeevika looks at me and makes a face. "What oh? Tell me what happened yesterday with virat? You found out anything?" she asks. I look at her with guilt "nothing" I say. She makes a confused face "what do you mean by nothing. Something must have happened!" She yells. I look at her and just blink without saying a thing. "You are lying to me! Aren't you?" she says figuring everything out. I take a deep breath "look I'm sorry but I promised virat that I won't tell anybody anything" I say in a low voice. She stand of the bed with a surprised expression. "manvi I am your best friend! You tell me everything! What happened to ill keep a secret but my best friend doesn't count?" She says in anger. I stand up and hold her shoulders. "Look I really want to tell you! I am more eager to tell you than you are to find out but I swear I would if I could! I just can't! I promised virat! And it's something serious! I can't break his trust I'm sorry!" I say and grip her shoulders. Jeevika pushes my hands away from herself. "Oh so he is more important than me...". "jeevs?.." I say interrupting her. "No you know what fine!" she says and rushes out of my room. I face palm myself and scream. I can't handle this drama!
