Khushi's POV

"Aakash!!! There He is..." Dad screamed while waving his hands frantically to get the attention of Aakash.

We were standing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, waiting for My Brother's arrival.

Aakash, My only sibling, had gone to London to finish his Final year degree and was returning today.

I could see Aakash walking towards Us with hurried steps.

He engulfed our parents into an enormous hug and then turned towards Me.

"Dad..Where is Khushi?" Aakash said faking a whisper.

"Here...Khushi is here." Mom and Dad said in a confused voice.

"No way...Where is the kiddo-Khushi I left behind?" Aakash teased.

"Hey..." I smacked his chest while He engulfed Me in a tight hug.

"Aww...I missed You so much." Aakash said while looking at Me in an appraising manner, "You have grown up to be a beautiful girl."

"Thank You..." I replied while Dad hauled Aakash's luggage into the car boot.

"Anyway...Did Arnav arrive? He was supposed to be coming before Me." Aakash said while We settled into the back seat of the car.

Yes...The last part was true.

Arnav had gone to London too along with Aakash for further studies and it was Him, My eyes had been waiting for all this while.

"Arnav already arrived and We dont know yet?" Mom said from the front passenger seat.

"Oh..Yes.He came before Me...actually He came today morning itself." Aakash shrugged his shoulders.

"Its Okay...He probably must be tired and anyway He is invited for the New Years party tonight. So You probably can meet him then." Dad explained.

"Oh...Are We hosting the party tonight?" Aakash said excitedly.

"Yes..all the preparations are done...We are
Ready." Mom said and looked at Aakash in a meaningful way.

We were home in about 20 minutes time.

"Aakash and Khushi...Start getting ready for the party...No wasting of time. Okay?" Dad warned while We entered the house.

The truth was I was going to be in this party just for one reason- Arnav.

I was brushing my hair lost in my thoughts when I heard my room door open.

"Khushi...Did You see Arnav as yet?" Aakash questioned.

"Aakash...How many times Do I have to say this? I have not seen Him at all!" I yelled throwing my hair brush towards Him.

"Whooaa...You sure are looking beautiful." Aakash said and continued mumbling under his breath,
"Arnav wont know what hit him."

"What are you mumbling?" I said looking at Him in confusion.

"Umm...I will just be back." Aakash said abruptly.

I turned around to get back in to my safe heaven- My Room.

But fate clearly had different plans for Me.

I walked into a hard wall which turned out to be none other than Arnav Singh Raizada.

"Long Time Arnav." I said with a smirk on my lips.

"Khushi??" Arnav exclaimed looking at Me completely.

"Yes..The One & Only." I said haughtily.

"Ha! You are the same cute One I left behind but You are really looking beautiful." Arnav said while his lips twitched upwards in a smile, the smile I fell in love with.

"Oh...You look good yourself too." I said quickly in order to calm my fast heartbeat and my rising blush, "Aakash was looking for you."

"I was in his room with him right now..He himself said that He will just be back." Arnav said in confusion.

"Oh..Anyway..He has gone downstairs.You go and meet Him.I will be right back." I said while walking towards the room.

Arnav was back in my life.

But I could not claim my love for Him.

He is My Brother's Best Friend.

Why did life have to be so cruel to Me?

I wanted to scream in to my pillow and never look at Arnav ever.

*KNOCK*

The sharp knock made me stop from crying loudly.

"Khushi...The party has started. Mom is calling you downstairs." Aakash said peeking his head inside.

"I am coming in 5 minutes." I said while brushing my hair with my fingers and making my face devoid of any emotion.

"The countdown is going to start in exactly 4 minutes and You cant be late." Aakash said while walking down the stairs.

"Oh God! Give Me the strength to endure this night and Just let it get over faster." I closed my eyes and said it out loud.

"Why do You want to end it faster...Its just getting started." Arnav's voice made me open my eyes and gasp loudly.

"What are You doing here?" I said taken aback.

"I just came here to get You." Arnav said.

"Oh...Lets Go then." I said while walking towards the door.

"Lets Go." Arnav said taking my hand in his while walking down the stairs.

All the bottled emotions in my heart had started flowing at this small action.

"Everyone...You know whats the tradition of New Years?? If You kiss the Person You love at exactly 12 o' clock...That person cannot possibly refuse to Love You back.!!" Aakash squealed loudly into the microphone.

This announcement was followed by loud whistles and laughter.

"So...Lets See...Who all are ready to fall in Love this New Years.The countdown begins ...10..9..8..." Aakash had started counting.

I turned look at Arnav who was looking in anticipation at Aakash with twinkling eyes.

"6...5...4...3...2...1" Aakash screamed, "Happy New Year!!"

I felt two hands grab Me softly and capture my lips in an even soft manner.

Damn.

I did not even get the chance to refuse this mystery person because it is so dark all of a sudden.

The lights went On, When We broke apart and I could not resist the urge to look at the mysterious person.

I looked up in to familiar caramel brown eyes which always made my knees go in to a jelly state.

Arnav Singh Raizada.

"Sorry...Could not let this tradition slip out of my hands." Arnav said softly.

"What Girl wants a Guy whom They are in Love with to say They are Sorry for freaking kissing them ?" I said thinking that Arnav was apologizing because it was just the tradition.

A long silence followed my statement.

Oh No...Did I just confess?

Suddenly Arnav engulfed Me in an enormous Hug and brought Me towards the side of the room.

I opened my mouth to protest but Arnav cut Me off By saying..."Khushi..Listen once to what I have to say."

"I Love You."

"Yeah...I know like Your Best Friend's Sister." I said immediately.

"No..I Love You like You Love Me." Arnav confessed.

"Why Arnav? Why did You not say this for so long?" I said while my eyes had started welling up.

"Your Brother." Arnav said shortly and continued,
"Aakash is so protective of You and I did not want to mess my Friendship with Him.

"Aakash knows?"

"Yes...I told Him last week because I did not want to wait anymore to be with You and the time was right." Arnav explained while wiping the streaming tears.

"You loved Me and You did not think it was fair enough to talk about your feelings?" I complained.

"I feared rejection." Arnav said wrapping his hands around my waist.

"You should not be...I have loved you for ever.' I said keeping my head on his shoulder.

"Then why didn't You tell me?"

"Everytime I tried to cover up my feelings because I did not want you to know that the little sister of your Best Friend has fallen head over heels for You."

"Well but I still Love You...Be Mine?" Arnav said caressing my hair with his hand.

"I guess it's New Year's and not Valentines Day but still I would say Yes.!" I chuckled loudly.

"Do You care if its New Ye-...Did You just say Yes?" Arnav squealed loudly.

"Yes...I said Yes..I will Be yours as Long as You will be mine..and that will be forever!" I said smiling brightly.

"Always." Arnav mumbled while wrapping me tightly in his arms.

What a beautiful way to start the New Year with the one You love.

New Years could not be better than this.

A new year brings not only happiness, it makes us happy with a hope to fulfill our dreams or a new beginning of our life. So, a new year is very special to everyone.

P.S- I have stopped taking suggestions Now because I already have loads of them from all the Readers which will be sufficient for the entire Year, I guess.:P
