When Aakash turned to go,hewas shocked to see Paayal approaching him.
Aakash: U.. here? Y? a.. I mean.. how come u're here?
Paayal: Did u'll get the file?
Aakash: a.. no. They r still searching.
Paayal looked at the closed door of ArShi's bedroom & nodded.
Aakash: a.. Actually its not Khushiji's fault. Bhai must've taken out the file in order to check it & then.. he must've kept it somewhere. And now he cant remem..
Paayal(interrupts): Let it b. I know everything!
Aakash: What.. do u mean?
Paayal: Could'nt u make some excuse & call me upstairs like u made the file's excuse in order to call Khushi upstairs?
Aakash(stupefied): What!?!
Paayal(looks at her saree): I had to spill dal on my saree in order to come here!
Aakash(concerned): U're okay naa? I hope u didnt get burnt?
Paayal(smiles): Aakash,u're too much! Y would I knowingly spill hot dal on myself?!

Khushi was happy to see her jiji's flushed cheeks.

Arnav: Aakash..
Aakash: Ya bhai?
Arnav: U,me & Khushi should go first & Paayal should go later. Or vice versa..

Paayal nodded & left.
Khushi: For how long shall we keep standing over here?

Anjali(smiles): Okay. Now,should v go downstairs? Nani must b waiting for us.

Khushi: U go & freshen up. I'll meet naniji & join u soon.

Khushi(holds his hand): Everything will b fine! Naniji must b thinking of doing a pooja tomorrow. She must've called me to inform about it.
Arnav: In that case,y didnt she call di & Paayal? Y did she call u alone?
Khushi: I.. dunno all that! All I know is that I need to meet her,alone! Go now...
Arnav: Come soon..
Khushi nods & leaves.
**In nani's bedroom**
Khushi: What is the matter,naniji?
Nani: I came to know only today that u miss ur mother-in-law a lot!
Khushi: a.. nothing like that,naniji. Since u,mamiji & di r with me,I.. dont feel maaji's absence. But.. sometimes I feel had she been with us today,it would hav been so much better! Especially for Arnavji! He misses maaji the most!
Nani nods.
Khushi: I wanted to.. ask for a.. favour,naniji..

Khushi: When u.. compare Arnavji to.. his babuji & tell him that.. he's like his babuji,it hurts him! This is my humble request, naniji- Plz dont compare him to babuji again! U r aware of the fact that Arnavji is not like him! May b u.. said all that in a fit of rage but.. plz dont say that in future! He hates being compared to babuji! And it hurts him a lot!
Nani: And since it hurts Chhotey,it hurts u as well. Am I right?
Khushi nods.
Nani: I will make sure that I dont compare Chhotey to daamaadji in future. But.. Chhotey will also have to make sure that he doesnt do anything which would hurt me & compel me to compare him with his father.
Khushi: Plz hav faith in him,naniji. He wont ever do anything like that!
Nani nods.

She takes out 2 small,jewellery boxes from the cupboard.
Nani(points to the 1st box): Ur nanaji gifted these bangles to ur mother-in-law ar the time of Anjali bitiya's birth. (points to the second box) And he gifted these earrings to her after Chhotey was born. Now u tell me,which one do u want?..
Khushi is shell shocked upon opening the first box.
Nani: What happened Chhoti bitiya? Y did u get alarmed?
Khushi(touches the bangles): These bangles r.. just like..
Nani(confused): What?
Khushi: The ones which my amma had! The only difference being that amma's bangles were not as wide as these. And they werent as heavy either. The design is the same!
Nani: That's bound to b since ur amma was from Lucknow & the design that u see on these is Lucknowi kaarigari! Ur naniji got these made from a jeweller in Lucknow.
Khushi: I want these bangles,naniji.
Nani: Okay bitiya. So take these alongwith the blessings from ur mother-in-law & grandmother-in-law!
Khushi touches her feet and hugs her.
Nani: Be happy,bitiya! May u keep smiling forever!
Khushi: Thank u so,so much naniji! U dunno what u've given me today!
Nani: Now,u give these to ur bahu or ur bitiya!
She hands the other jewellery box to her.

Nani: If u're blessed with a bitiya then u give these earrings to her alongwith the blessings of her grandma and great grandma. But if u r blessed with a bitwa then u can give these to his wife along with the blessings of her grandma-in-law & great grandma-in-law! Till the time ur bitiya & bitwa reach marriageable age,these will b in ur custoday. Take care of these & keep them safely. Okay bitiya?
Khushi(blushes): Ji naniji.. May I leave?
Nani: Yes bitiya. Today was very tough for u. U need to take rest. So go & sleep now. Devi Maiyya will make everything alright very soon!

Arnav: Dad didnt like them. Hence maa never wore these in r house. Whenever maa used to come to Delhi she used to wear these bangles &.. earrings..
Khushi(points to the 2nd box): Here they r..
Arnav: Maa had keot them with nani. When we'd come to Delhi for vacations,maa would wear them.
Khushi: U know something? My amma had similar bangles! The design was exactly the same! and my amma also loved wearing those bangles! I was reminded of amma & her bangles when I saw these tonight!
Arnav puts an arm around her.
Arnav: What happened to those bangles? I mean.. was ur amma wearing them at the time of her death?
Khushi: No. They were at home. And.. they were with me for a long time after her death. Then.. (averts her gaze to the floor)I.. lost those.. bangles..
Arnav(frowns): U lost them?
Khushi nods.
Arnav: Khushi,look at me..
Khushi: I'll go & keep these in the cupboard.
Arnav(holds her arm): Wait!
He turns her around & forces her to look at him.
Arnav: I know that u will never b careless about anything that belongs to ur amma. I refuse to believe that u lost those bangles!
Khushi: Actually.. a.. I..
Arnav: What? Tell me the truth..
Khushi: I..had to..(gulps) sell.. them..
Arnav(shocked): What the..!?
Khushi(nods): Since I.. needed money.. I..
Arnav(interrupts): U needed money for what?
Khushi: a..to buy.. something.. really precious.. Hence I.. sold them.. off.
Arnav(tilts her chin): Look at me Khushi! What was it?
Khushi: Ur.. p.. plants..
Arnav(confused): My plants?
Khushi: The ones which.. Lavanyaji had.. gifted u..
Arnav(shocked): Holy! So that means.. that.. u were the one who'd bought those plants for me! And that too by.. selling ur amma's bangles?
Khushi gives a small nod.

Arnav(interuppts): Thats y u sold ur amma's & bought plants which u gifted to me in Lavanya's name! (hugs her) Unbelievable!
Khushi hugs him back,allowing her tears to flow freely.
Arnav breaks the hug when he feels something wet on his shoulder.
Arnav: Khushi?..
Khushi hugs him again,hiding her face in his chest.
Arnav: U never told me about it..
Khushi: Had I.. told u..(sniffs) u would've been angry with Lavanyaji. Am I right?
Arnav(kisses her head): Only my Khushi is capable of sacrificing her happiness for the sake of other's happiness,that too without telling anyone about it!
Khushi(breaks the hug): Let it b. U're also capable of doing that. In fact u've done that in the past.
Arnav(wipes her tears): Can I ask u a question?
Khushi: Yeah,sure!
Arnav: U had a.. tear in ur eye when u saw me.. hugging Lavanya that day. May I know y?
Khushi: I did all this for the sake of Lavanyaji's happiness. But wen I.. saw her in ur arms,I was.. hurt. I felt sad.. thats y u saw that lone tear in my eye..
Arnav: Still u never told me about it.. And me,what did I do? I knowingly kept doin something or the other which would hurt u.. Like I did on the.. night of Diwali by announcing my engagement to Lavanya.. I'm sorry jaan! Hurting u was not my motive.. I just.. wanted u to admit that.. u have feelings for me. Thats y I.. did all that.
Khushi: I can understand..
Arnav: Promise me,Khushi. Henceforth u wont make any sacrifices for me! And niether will u hide anything from me!
Khushi: I promise I wont hide anything from u! Regarding making sacrifices,Arnavji,keep sacrificing something or the other for each other's happiness. Its not a big deal!
Arnav: What do u mean by sayin its not a big deal?! U sold ur amma's bangles,dammit! That was a big deal!
Khushi: But,by Devi Maiyya's grace,I got these bangles which r similar to amma's bangles! And I also got ur amma & nani's blessings! What more could I ask for!?
Arnav: Now what did Devi Maiyya do in all of this?
Khushi: When Devi Maiyya takes something from her devotees,she grants them something else! She doesnt commit injustice with anyone!
Arnav: Really?
Khushi: Ya! 1 day u'll realize that its true!And that day u'll start believing in Devi Maiyya!

He kisses her cheeks one after the other.

Khushi(wonders aloud): Now,wer did he go? (calls loudly) Arnavji...
Arnav(from the poolside): Hmm?
Khushi: O! So u're at the poolside?! Wait,I'm cumin..
When she reached the poolside,she found her husband gazing at the stars with a sad face.
Khushi(hand on his shoulder): What's the matter?
Arnav(looks at her): I realized that I said sorry to everyone(points to the stars) excepting them. So I.. was just asking for forgiveness from them..
Khushi nods.
Arnav: What do u think?
Khushi: About what?
Arnav: Will maa,amma & babuji forgive me?
Khushi: Yes,of course they will!U know y? Coz they've seen how much u've suffered! And they know that u love me a lot! (cups his face) Dont feel guilty about it,hmm?
Arnav nods,cupping her hands.
Khushi: Had u been Khushi & I been Arnavji I would've carried u inside in my arms.. But.. since I'm Khushi & u're Arnavji toh.. I cant lift u to save my life! So,come inside on ur feet!

When Arnav made love to Khushi,she forgot all about the happenings of the day.
The tension,the trauma, the fear of losing him,the recalling of the torturous past- all this was forgotten.

How his hands entwined with hers,as though they were meant to do only that..
How their lips met & how their tongues danced in blissful union..

Even the scream that came out of her mouth when she came seemed melodious!
Her lips curved in a smile as a lone tear ran down her cheek.
Arnav wiped the tear with his thumb.
And when he kissed her cheek,Khushi's smile became wider.
Arnav(cups her face): Khushi..
Khushi: Ji?
Arnav: What happened sweetheart? Y r u smiling?
Khushi: Coz I'm very happy,Arnavji! I dont remember when was the last time wen I was so happy!
Arnav: I know what u mean! I'm very happy myself! It seems as if.. we've got a second lease of life!
Khushi: U're absolutely right! Now we need to make full use of the second opportunity given to us,Arnavji. We need to make serious efforts to bridge the gaps between us!
Arnav: Dont worry! I wont let anyone or anything come between both of us!
Khushi: O,really?
Arnav: Yup!
He holds her delicate hand in his & kisses her palm.
Arnav: I've got u after facing so many obstacles & by facing so many difficult situations. I wont let go of this opportunity at any cost! When Arnav Singh Raizada makes up his mind to do something,then no misunderstanding or problem has the power to stop him!
Khushi: U hav a tad too much of confidence on urself!

Arnav was about to retaliate when he caught the twinkle in Khushi's eyes & understood that she was pulling his leg. So he decided to play along.
Arnav: I know a sure-shot way of keeping misunderstandings & problems at bay!
Khushi: And what is it?
Arnav(points to their bodies): This is it!
Khushi(confused): What?
Arnav: When I'm inside u..
Khushi(interrupts): Arnavji! Hav some shame!
Arnav: Relax! I meant.. when we're so close to each other,it leaves no scope for anyone to come between us!
Khushi: hmm! So u mean to say that..
Arnav(interrupts): We should spend a lot of time,like this!
Khushi: O,really?(smacks his shoulder) Naughty!
Arnav smiles as he pecks her lips.
Khushi: U just need to get a chance to talk about this or do.. all this! We might b talking about it in jest,but its a serious issue,Arnavji.

Khushi: Like di was saying- We need to know each other better. And for that we need to express rselves freely. U must not hide anything from me & niether should I hide anything from u!
Arnav: Right! So lemme tell u what's in my mind!

She smacks his chest.

While she was pouring water into the glass,she felt like someone was watching her from behind the poolside curtains.
Anjali(thinks): Who can b there at this hour?
When she switched on the lamp,she could see no-one.
Anjali(thinks): It must've been my illusion. Who'll come so late at night? That too thru the poolside window!
While she was sipping water she heard some noise coming from the poolside.
Anjali(thinks): Is someone.. really standing over.. there?.. Oh God! I must call Chhotey!
She was about to call Arnav when she heard the familiar sound of Lakshmi's bleating.
When she turned to look at the poolside French window,she found Lakshmi near the pool.
Anjali(shocked): Lakshmi!?
She opened the window and stepped towards the pool.
Anjali: U got me shit scared!
Lakshmi bleated again.
Anjali: Ssshhh! U'll wake everyone up! What r u doin here at this time of the night,Lakshmi? (caresses her head)Werent u able to sleep,hmm?
She led her towards her the poolside staircase.
Anjali: Come,I'll drop u to nani's room.. Come here..

Anjali came back to her room & closed the poolside window.
When she turned around she found Shyam standing at the other end of the room.
Anjali (blinked several times): Is this my.. nightmare?
Shyam: If u're unable to believe ur eyes,u can touch me!
He takes a step closer to her.
Anjali: U.. U..
Shyam: Ya.. its me! This is not ur nightmare or illusion!
He takes one more step closer to her.
Shyam(evil smirk): Rani sahiba! Finally I got to meet u!
Anjali: How did u.. come here? And.. how did u.. come out of the jail?
Shyam: I was trying since so many days but I got this chance only today! And that too thanks to Lakshmiji!
Anjali(frowns): Lakshmi?..
Shyam: Ya! I'd only got Lakshmi to the poolside,under naniji's nose. But she never came to know about it!
He steps closer to her.
Anjali: Stay away from me!
Shyam: I'm really upset,Rani sahiba! And not just with u,but also with saale sa'ab! But the one who's got me really angry is that Rakshit Bajpayee!
Anjali: How do u.. know about Rakshit?
Shyam(takes few steps closer): What did u think? That u'll start afresh with ur new groom & I'll keep sitting in the jail? Hows it possible?!
He takes a huge step and comes right in front of Anjali.
Anjali: Stay away! Chho..
Shyam(covers her mouth with his palm): Dont call saale sa'ab! He'll create a mess! I am here only to give u ur wedding gift. I'll leave as soon as I give it to u!
He takes out something from his pocket.
Anjali's eyes go wide in shock as Shyam places the pistol on her head.
She tries to snatch it with her free hand but is unable to do so.
Shyam: I was confused as to who should get the gift first-u or ur new groom? But then I thought since Rani sahiba is so dear to me,I should wish her first! Thats y I came here! And now,here u go(places his finger on the triger)congratulations on ur second wedding,(evil smirk) Rani sahiba!
He laughs as he presses the trigger.

Anjali wakes up with a start,swetting profusely.
She heaves a sigh of relief as she realizes it was her nightmare.
Anjali: Thank u so much,Devi Maiyya for it was only my nightmare!
Her momentary relief is soon replaced by tension.
Anjali: Plz dont turn this into reality!
Her heart thumps inside her chest as she recalls her nightmare.
Anjali: No! I shouldnt b scared! Shyam will never b able to come out since Chhotey & the police r after him. But.. even if he does come out,I'll hav to make sure that he causes no harm to me,Rakshit ka or r families!
She wipes the sweat off her brow.
Anjali: I need to b so strong that Shyam or any other person,for that matter, will think 10 times before taking the wrong advantage of my nature! Now Anjali Singh Raizada will hav to b like Arnav Singh Raizada- fearless,brave,cunning & intelligent! My heart will never b weak,even though I cant do anything about my physical weakness!
She closes her eyes & prays to Devi Maiyya.
Anjali: Hey Devi Maiyya! I kept so may fasts, made donations in temples, performed havans & offered countless prayers for the demon who used me! Who exercised full rights of being my husband even though he never considered me as his wife! I was only a money minting machine for him! I gave him ur position,that of god,but he did something due to which I couldnt face my ownself! When I'd lost my child,I'd wonder y u were doing this to me? I thought that I must've failed to perform my duties as a devotee. But now I know that I failed not as a devotee but as a woman & a wife! I could never recognize the evilness in my husband. He had cast sucha shadow of his false love on me that I could never look beyond him! My Chhotey,my Chhoti & the entire family had to go thru such tough times,all bcoz of my mistake. I'm really sorry for that! I promise- I will never trust anyone blindly again. I wont do anything which would spell trouble for Chhotey or my family. Niether my would b husband nor my would b in-laws will hav to go through problems bcoz of me! Plz b with me at every step! Plz continue to shower ur blessings on me & both my families!
She takes a deep breath & goes back to sleep.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I'm sorry but I'll have to end this FF here. I will be back with Season II of Arnav learns a lesson once my FF Jaldi aaiyye Arnavji completes its first season. I'm having exams in a month and since I'll be in my M.Sc final year very soon,I wont b able to devote time to both the FFs. Hence I've thought of concentrating on 1 FF at a time. Arnav learns a lesson is my first ArHi FF & is very dear to me! I am going to miss writing it. And I assure u,I will definitely come back with a second season.
The story will take a leap of few months & the second season will open with Anjali's pre-wedding ceremonies.
What u can expect from season II- NK's entry, Ramaa's re-entry, Anjali's wedding, Entry of 2 characters related to Arnav's past, Arnav proving himself to Paayal & regaining her trust, Mamiji accepting Paayal & Khushi, Arnav's belief in Devi Maiyya(courtesy Khushi), ArShi's second honeymoon.
Apart from all this,I will reveal the truths which I'd intended to but I couldnt in this season- Khushi will come to know that Arnav had put silver coins in the detergent, Khushi will come to know that Arnav did not act like he was ill ( he'd genuinely fainted), Family will come to know about 300 rs loan, Khushi will come to know more about Arnav's past, Khushi will call Arnav as Arnav,Arnav will come to know that Anjali had accidentally spotted ArShi from the poolside window while they were making love in her room, Anjali will come to know that Arnav regularly visits mamma's garden with Khushi & NK will come to know Arnav is jealous of his bonding with Khushi.
