When mamiji came back to the living room,she heard Arnav saying..

Arnav: I misunderstood Khushi..

Mamiji: Hello hi bye bye! Bhat haippened Arnav bitwa? Details pileej..

Arnav: While di & Khushi were talking to each other, di told Khushi..
*flashback*
Anjali: May u live a long life! I wish I could give the remaining years of my life to you so as to add years to your life!
Arnav(enraged): Di!
Anjali(to Khushi): Chhotey doesnt like it when I talk about giving my life to anyone.
*flashback ends*
Arnav: Once di left the room,Lakshmi came there. Khushi started praising di. She said she's so nice,etc,etc.

Mamiji: Ya,so what was phati saadee's phault in this? Whatever she said was right!

Arnav: Ya mami. But.. back then I thought that Khushi's trying to appear sweet n caring. On one hand,she told Shyam to leave di and on the other hand she's acting in front of di and taking the wrong advantage of her love & trust. I yelled at Khushi. We had a fight,after which I dragged her to the poolside..

Khushi remembers how he insulted her and shuts her eyes tightly.

Arnav: I shut the poolside door in a haste and thus Khushi's arm got bruised.

Anjali: I remember.. That day Shyam came to me & told me that u both r fighting. But when we came to ur room..

Arnav(interrupts): We pretended as if everything was fine,so that u dont hav a doubt on r relationship. But I guess u did hav ur doubts. No wonder u planned r honeymoon.

Anjali: Now I understand y u were hell bent on not goin to Bali.

Arnav(smiles): And now I understand that u're my di!

Anjali(frowns): What do u mean?

Mamaji: Dilli me Bali!

Arnav(smiles): Ya,right..(smiles with a distant look in his eyes) Dilli me Bali..
BTW,I gotta thank u all for that! Coz many things happened that night..

Nani: What exactly happened?

Mamiji:No wonder u danced with phati saadee as though there was no tomorrow! Hayin?

He tells them how the bed had caught fire and how Khushi doused it with a bucket full of water.

Arnav: We both slept on the recliner that night,with great difficulty. And the next morning when I woke up,I found that..

Mami(inquisitive): Bhat did u phind out in the maarning?

Arnav: a.. I'd lost my voice,coz Khushi had lit the mosquito repellent coil without telling me about it.

Khushi: For whom did I light it? For u only naa? Coz u were the one who was bugged by mosquitoes!

Arnav: Ok,fine! But u could've told me about the coil when I asked u what was burning? Had u told me I wouldnt hav lost my voice.

He sighs deeply.

Arnav: In a way,its good that u didnt tell me about it.

Khushi(surprised): Ji?

Arnav(nods): Else I wouldnt hav realized some things..

Khushi: Like?

Arnav: Like how well u understand me! I couldnt utter a single word,yet u understood evrything! Di,nani nobody could do that,except u!

Khushi smiles proudly.

Arnav: And I also realized that u care a lot about me! We had so many fights! I behaved so badly with u. Yet.. when u found out that I've lost my voice,u didnt hesitate for a moment before helping me! U forgot about all r fights!

Khushi: I had to help u! Tell me somthing.. had I been in ur place.. I mean had I lost my voice,wouldnt u hav helped me?

Arnav: Ya.. of course I wouldve helped u!

Khushi: See! Only I know how I felt when I found out that u're not able to speak bcoz of my mistake!Thats y I asked buaji about the kaadha. And thats y I cleaned the room.

Khushi: I know..

Arnav: But my ego never allowed me to express my true feelings! Niether could I thank u for saving me from those fraud Sethi brothers niether could I appreciate ur efforts to bring back my voice. Thanks to my ego,I ended up saying something entirely different!

He turns to Khushi & holds her hand.

Arnav: Khushi,I hope.. u didnt take me seriously back then? I didnt mean whatever I told u that day. Its not as if I didnt want u to get the credit.. Its just that.. I couldnt tell u the truth. I mean,what would I tell u? That I hid the fact that my voice is back coz I like it when u care for me! How could I say all this to u? Especially after I told u that u mean nothing to me! I..

Khushi(squeezes his hand): I understand..

Buaji: And so do I,Nandkisore! U said one lie after the one without thinking about its consequences. And thats how u got sucked into the sanddune of lies. The entire fault was always urs but u always blamed r Khusi for it!

Buaji: Will the clock go back in time if u say sorry?

Arnav: No buaji. I cant undo whatever I did in the past. However,I assure u.. I'll never do that in future!

Buaji is not convinced.

Nani: What happened next?..

Arnav: U tell me,nani. Dragging me to the venue of the drama, hiding the car keys, forcing me to become Khushi's partner,was'nt it all ur plan?

Nani nods.

Khushi(shocked): Naniji?

Nani: I wanted to eliminate the distance that had cropped up between the two of u. Hence I & Anjali bitiya thought of this plan. But.. how did u find out that it was my plan,Chhotey?

Arnav: I came to know about it the moment I wore Ranjha's costume. It was of my size & it fitted me as though it was tailormade for me.

Nani: Yet u went onstage. Y?

Arnav: Coz the audience was making fun of Khushi. I couldnt tolerate the fact that they were insulting her coz she didnt hav a partner.

Paayal: Wow! When u insult Khushi,say harsh things to her,make fun of her beliefs, u're right! That time u dont feel anything for Khushi! But when someone else does the same things,u cant tolerate it! Really wow!

Aakash is about to admonish Paayal but he stops. He looks at Arnav who slightly shakes his head.

Khushi opens her mouth to say something to Paayal when Arnav squeezes her hand so as to stop her.

Paayal: aapko samajhna bahut mushqil hai Arnavji! Khushi sahi kehti hai,aap pal me tola hote hain toh pal me maasha!

Nani: Continue Chhotey..

Arnav: During the play,Khushi said..
*FLASHBACK*
Khushi: Now the worst moment of Ranjha's life & the best moment of urs has come..
Arnav(confused): What do u mean?
Khushi: I'm going to die.
*FLASHBACK ENDS*

Arnav: I dont know what happened to me? But.. wen Khushi said that.. I felt... (gulps) as if..

Khushi: As if I was really goin to..

Arnav(interrupts): Khushi!

Mamiji: But that bhas a dirama,Arnav bitwa. Phati saadee wasnt goin to die in reality!

Khushi: I knew what u wanted to say back then. U wanted to say that u'll always..

Arnav(interrupts): Love u,no matter what!

Khushi(smiles): Same holds true for me! I'll also love u,forever,no matter what!

Nani: If u knew what he wanted to say,y didnt u confront Chhotey?Y didnt u ask him as to y he didnt complete his dialogue?

Arnav(interrupts): But,as usual,my ego interfered. Hence,when u asked me this question in the green room.. I lashed out at u. My anger was in reality my defense mechanism.

Khushi: Defense mechanism..?

Arnav: what I mean to say is that I'd constructed a wall around myself,so that nobody would b able to see the real me. So that nobody would know what I actually feel for u. But u?

He smiles lovingly at her.

Arnav: Everytime I constructed that wall,u tried ur level best to break it down! U tried ur level best to bring the love, that I'd hidden in some secret corner of my heart, out in the open. Each time u did that,I tried to distance myself from u. I insulted u, I made u cry but u never gave up! I really hav to applaud u,Khushi! Had there been some other girl in ur place,she wouldnt hav tried to unmask my feelings for u! She would've left me on my own! But u never left me! Everytime I pushed away from the wall,u attacked the wall with double strength! Only u could do this,Khushi! Nobody else can match up to u!

They share a small eyelock.

Arnav breaks the eyelock & turns to Paayal.

Arnav: Paayal u're right. Its really very difficult to understand me coz I dont show my actual self to anybody. I always roam around with ASR's mask. Nobody can guess what's goin on inside,except my sister n ur sister!

Arnav(smiles): Nobody understands me better than Khushi!

Khushi returns his smile.

Arnav: Sometimes I feel that.. nobody,apart from Khushi,understands me! And niether will anyone ever b able to understand me like Khushi,coz nobody can love me as much as she loves me!

Nani turns towards Anjali who nods.

Anjali(thinks): I know what u're tryin to tell me,nani. Now I need not worry about my Chhotey! Chhoti is there with him naa? So now he'll face every challenge head on. And whenever he'll get stuck inside the brass vessel or whenever he'll construct that wall around himself,Chhoti will take him out of it! She'll break the wall with all her power n help him out of the difficult situation!

Anjali(thinks): Plz keep my brother n bhabhi happy,forever! If they're happy n safe out here,I'll b able to concentrate fully on my new home!

Arnav: After the drama ended,I saw Khushi conversing with Shyam. Upon seeing them that way,I was reminded of.. all that I'd seen on the terrace on r wedding night. (turns to Khushi) What were u telling Shyam?

Khushi: I never wanted to talk to him in the first place. But then.. di started feeling uneasy and she told me that she didnt hav her medicine with her.

Anjali(interrupts): Thats y I told Chhoti to bring it for me. Also,I was the one who told her not to tell u about it,since I didnt want u to get worried about me. in fact.. I'd only asked Shyam to accompany Chhoti coz I didnt want her to go alone at night.

Khushi: I went on refusing,but di didnt listen to me. And to top it all,Shyam also insisted that I shouldnt go alone.

Khushi: When we were at the chemist's,he started behaving n talking to me as if I was his wife!

Arnav(shocked): What the..!?

Khushi: He wouldnt hav stopped doin that had I not come up with my master plan!

Buaji: Aye Sanka devi! Tell me clearly,what did u do?

Khushi: His plan flopped when I called him jijaji in front of the chemist!

Buaji: Very good!

Khushi(to Arnav): No wonder u were miffed with me that nigjt.

Arnav nods.

Khushi(pouts): In ur fit of rage,u broke the set which naniji had given to me.

Khushi: Yes,yes! I know u did! We fought and u were very upset. Still,when u felt that I was about to fall down u held my hand n saved me!

Arnav: Didnt I tell u earlier,Khushi? U're most important for me! Even back then u were most important for me! Yes,indeed I was very upset that night. but when di told me the next morning that she had sent u with Shyam to get her medicine,I realized that I yelled at u for no fault of urs. I started feeling guilty. Thats y I came to talk to u..

*FLASHBACK*
Khushi is going towards ArHi room when Arnav calls her from behind.
Arnav: Khushi..
Khushi stops but doesnt turn towards him.
Arnav comes & stands in front of her.
Arnav: So yesterday u went to get di's medicine? So u couldve told me naa? Had u told me even once that..

Buaji: Waah re Nandkisore! U never told Khusi y u got married to her,but u expected Khusi to tell u everything-where she's goin,whom she's meetin,etc? If u're upset with Khusi,its fine. But if she's upset,that too bcoz of ur misbehaviour, she's wrong! Wow!

Arnav ignores buaji's & Paayal's comment & proceeds.

Arnav: I was trying to talk to Khushi but she kept on ignoring me. I became angry n, in a fit of rage,told Khushi stuff that I shouldnt hav told her..

Nani: After hearing all this,I've understood two things. The first thing is that Chhoti bitiya is as emotional as u r.

Nani(sternly): Keep quiet,Manorama!

Mami: Okayjj.

Nani: Whatever u said was in anger. U never meant all that. But bitiya was hurt. So she started behaving as per whatever u told her thatr day. bitiya stopped talking to u. She stopped goin to office. Morover,she stopped coming in front of u in order to make it easier for u to" tolerate her"!

Arnav looks at Khushi to find her looking at him.

Nani: Bitiya was very happy with the dabba service work that she was doin! Its certainly not a bad job! But when she felt that u dont like to see her in ur office and u feel that she's not doin a good job,bitiya stopped coming to office. So she started teaching those children.

Khushi nods.

Buaji: Nandkisore,my Sasi babua spent his entire life in making sweets in a sweet shop. The moment the customer tasted the sweet,he would smile! I can say this very proudly today that he may not hav earned a lot of money,but whatever he did was certainly a respectable job! Bringing a smile on someone's face is a commendable job! A halwaai's work or a cook's work shouldnt b looked down upon!

Buaji: U understand everything,Nandkisore! But u never think twice before speaking!

Nani: Madhumatiji..

Buaji promptly shuts up.

Nani: The second thing that I understood was that not only u Chhotey,Chhoti bitiya was also suffering during that period. She never wanted to stay away from u. She never wanted to stop talkin to u. But she was upset with u,thats y she behaved that way. When I used to b upset with ur nanaji,I would also stop talkin to him! But I would wait for him,hoping that he will come n apologize! When Chhoti bitiya came to know that u've realized ur mistake,she was hoping for u to apologize. But u never did that! Instead u became even more upset with her!

Khushi gives an understanding smile.

Arnav: I hope u'll forgive me..

Khushi: On 1 condition..

Arnav: What is that?..

Khushi: Next time I'm upset,u'll coax me very lovingly..

Arnav(smiles): Deal!

Khushi: To tell u the truth,I've forgiven u long back.

Arnav: I know. U hav a heart of hold!

Nani: Indeed!

nani: I'm sorry to interrupt u!..

Khushi: No naniji! Plz dont say sorry.

Nani: Should v.. continue?

Arnav(nods): Yes.Since that day Khushi started staying away from me. NMiether would I see her before leavin for office,nor would I see her after coming back from office. I missed Khushi but..

He is interrupted by his phone.

He goes towards the dining room to answer the call.

Khushi(wonders): Who's callin Arnavji again & again? I hope.. everything's fine..

Khushi(thinks): Now,where did he go?

She excuses herself to look for him.

Khushi: Arnavji..

Khushi: What is the matter? U look tensed..

Arnav: Nothing u should worry about.

He tries to go out of the room but she stops him..

Khushi: Tell me. What is it?

Arnav: actually.. Senior Inspector Kailash had called me.

Khushi(worried): Y? Is something wrong?

Arnav: Shyam tried to escape from the jail today..

Khushi(shocked): What!? Hey Devi Maiyya!

Arnav: Ssshhh! Dont tell this to anyone at home right now. Certainly not to di!

Khushi: But.. dont u think that they need to know this? (scared) What if he comes here?

Arnav: I told him to increase the security outside his cell. Dont worry. I wont let him go anywhere.

Arnav hugs her back.
