Chapter 31:

It was a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. Geet was in the kitchen making breakfast, she decided not to wake Maan up as he was working late on a project last night. She too had been working up till twelve. So she put the designs for her boutique away and dozed off'

She had made breakfast for dad, mom, and dadi just before they left. Dad and Mom for work and Dadi for NGO work she did.

Geet kicked the door open and entered smiling at a sleeping Maan. He was on his stomach face away from her, looking soo cute in his red vest.

She placed the tray on the table and sat beside him.

She leaned down and blew on his ear. He shook his head, indicating it was tickling him.

She giggled silently.

She then went over to the side that was facing away from her and caressed him face with her hair.

He turned his face to the other side now.

"Uff!! Subhah subhah exercise mujhay karva raha hai!" she said smiling.

She then walked to the other side and caressed his hair'

"Maani utho na'.(he was sound asleep)'Maan dekho 11 baj gaye hain uth jao na ab please'" she said kissing his cheek.

"Sone do na Geet'Main 6 baje soya tha" he said pulling her waist towards him.

"Acha dekho main tumhare liye breakfast layi hoon'your favourite cheese omelet!!" she said kissing his forehead.

He opened his eyes, staring at her.

"Good morning Sweetheart!" he said winking.

"Wakey wakey!!" she pinched his cheeks.

"OUCHH!!" he said rubbing them.

She laughed.

"Ab khao" she said bringing the tray over.

"No, tumne cheeks pinch kiye hain, and you know how much I hate that!! So ab tum khilao" he said folding his arms across his chest.

"Oye hoye Mogambo ko toh dekho!" she said putting a bite into his mouth.

It was evening now and Geet was working on the designs.

When Maan's phone rang'

"Ji, aise kabhi ho sakta hai ke aap kuch kahain aur hum na karain'Yes Mom we will definitely be there" he said and then turned the phone off.

"Kya hua?" she asked while sketching something.

"Jaan we are going to your parents house for a dinner'" he said walking over to her.

"Oh okay"

"Acha hai waise bhi they have been going out of the country so much that we hardly see them anymore" he said placing his arm around her.

"I know eh?and jab se mama ki tabiyat kharab hui thi she has been kind of avoiding me" she said placing her head on his shoulder.

"Acha shukar hai ke it was nothing serious"

"Babaji aap ka lakh lakh shukar hai" she said looking up.

"Tum aur tumhare babaji' aise lagta hai ke who sirf tumhari sunte hain" he said sarcastically.

"Tum na! main jo bhi karti hoon tumhe badi problem hoti hai! Kyun?" she asked turning towards him.

"No, I object! Ek cheez se problem nahi hoti" he said naughtily.

"Bas kaam aur nahi hai na toh yehi cheezain soojti hain" she said rolling her tongue out.

"Itna kaam toh karta hoon"

"Acha bas bas"

He smiled.

"Geet itne dinon se humne kuch nahi kiya you should be proud of me" he said sadly.

"Maan(she playfully slapped his arm)aur kuch karainge bhi nahi, I have work and so do you"

"No'aaj hum-" he started but she placed a finger on his lips.

She leaned closer and pecked his lips.

"Wow tum kitne ache se mujhay samajhti ho, you are such an understanding wife" he said all dazed.

She chuckled.

"That's all you are gunna get Mr. cuz you know boutique is week khul rahi hai officially..so I'll be busy and you have plans of your own'." with that she kissed his chest and got up.

"No that's not fair Geet!" he walked over'.

But she was picking her clothes out and gave him his'..

"Change!" with that too-bad-soo-sad expression she went inside the bathroom.

"Chalo niklo aa gaye hain hum'"he said angrily.

"Are you still sad over the conversation we had?" she asked amused.

He glared at her.

"Maan please stop being desperate and come, I don't want my lipstick to be all over your face right now"

"I wouldn't mind" he muttered under his breath and got out.

"Mama!!!" she jumped and hugged her Mom.

"I missed you beta'" she sad kissing Geet's hair.

Maan too joined and met with Sukhdev.

"Aao baitho'" Sukhdev said.

They were all seated.

"Toh aaj achanak kaise yaad a gayi?" asked Geet.

"Geet.." Maan whispered.

"I'm not being rude, just saying app log sab ko avoid kyun kar rahe hain?"

Sukhdev and Rano now looked at each other sadly'

"Beta who actually humne isi liye tum dono ko invite kiya tha'" Rano continued tears almost in her eyes.

Maan looked tense..

"Kya hua mom?" he asked scared'

"Woh beta'." tears were now streaming down her eyes.

"Mama kya hua?" Geet ran upto her and kneeled down her voice shaking'

"Tum dono please dehaan se suno, and beta please understand'" Sukhdev continued serious now.

Maan and Geet both looked at each other worried and scared.

"I have cancer" Rano spat out then broke into sobs.

Geet stood there kneeling in front of her mother and completely numb.

Maan looked like he had been stabbed.

"It's the last stage'." cried Rano helpless.

PRECAP:

"LEAVE!!!"

"Stop it Geet.."

"I don't care!!" she screamed her makeup smudged.
