Geet watched Armaan and Riddhima as they whispered back and forth and smiled. She knew that the two of them were up to something and hoped that whatever it was did not involve her. She was tired and all she wanted to do was snuggle up in bed and go to sleep. She bid them goodnight and went to bed not surprised when they did not even look up. They were definitely up to something.

Part 13- Mission "Maan ko Jalao" Part 1

Geet woke up the next morning a year older and deliriously happy. It was her birthday today and she could hardly wait to celebrate it with her friends. Wondering if Armaan and Riddhima had planned a surprise for her, she skipped into the kitchen looking around for balloons and cake but her smile faded when she saw that there was no one there. What she found instead was a note on the table addressed to her.

Geet,

I was called in early today. Will be back later tonight! Riddhima is going to the hospital with me. Please make sure you eat on time and don't forget to take your meds.

Armaan

Geet stared at the note in anger and disappointment. Armaan had forgotten her birthday! And boy was she pissed off. She crumpled up the note and threw it in the bin then went off to change in a huff. She entered the outhouse mumbling about forgetful friends under her breath but brightened up as soon as she saw Pinky.

Pinky! She would remember her birthday! She came to a complete stop as she watched Pinky walk towards her and looked at her expectantly, with a smile on her face. To her utter dismay, Pinky passed by her with a quick hello and not one word to indicate that she remembered it was Geet's birthday.

This was turning out to be the worst birthday ever! She stomped over to her table and slammed the files she carried on the table. Everyone looked up in surprise for a minute but resumed their work almost immediately.

Geet sat down and looked at her around forlornly, asking babaji for patience so that she would not kill her friends the first chance she got.

Geet: Uff babaji kya dost diye hain aap ne! Dosti ke naam per dhaba! In main se eek ko bhi meri birthday yaad nahi! It's not like I wanted them to throw me a party, a simple happy birthday to you would suffice per no, koi meri birthday kyun yaad rakhe ga. Bhar main jaein sab ke sab, she mumbled talking to the ceiling.

Maan paced the length of his study as he pondered over how he was going to wish Geet a happy birthday. He had come across this particular information a week ago and had been wondering as to how he was going to wish her ever since.

He paused in front of the mirror in his study and tried to practice saying happy birthday but the words would not come. Sighing he called her into his office, hoping that he did not stutter like Adi when she was in front of him.

Geet stomped over to Maan's study all set to pick a fight with him. The day had gone from bad to worse for not only did her friends not remember her birthday, but they were too thick brained to catch the subtle hints she had been throwing at them. Geet scowled at Maan as she sat down across him which made him pause in surprise.

Maan wondered what he had done this time to cause her to glare at him so. Now that she was here, he wasn't sure of how he should proceed. He cleared his throat trying to get the words out before he lost his nerve.

Maan: Umm Geet, Ahem. I was going through your Employee File earlier and I noticed that it's your birthday today. I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday! Hope this…he broke off when Geet squealed in delight and jumped on him, giving him a tight hug. He hugged her back, both surprised and happy at their close proximity.

Geet: Thank you so much sir! You know what you are the only person who has wished me today. Sab meri birthday bhol gaye, kisi ne bhi mujhe wish nahin kiya aaj except for you.

Maan: I don't think that is true, he said with a smile as he turned Geet around and pointed outside. What she saw made her jump up and down with happiness.

Pinky looked around to see if the coast was clear meaning if Geet was out of the way before she took out the balloons and buntings she had hidden in the kitchen and started decorating Geet's cabin.

Armaan had called to let her know that he was on his way with the cake and all she needed was for Geet to stay in Maan sir's study a little while longer so that they could execute their plan. Armaan stood outside the outhouse with a smirk on his face and chocolate cake in his hands. Phase 1 of "Make Maan Jealous" officially begins today.

Geet looked out through Maan's window to see Geet and Adi decorating her cabin and her eyes filled up with tears of happiness. They had not forgotten her birthday! She smiled up at Maan who returned her smile then skipped out of the office with Maan following close behind. Pinky looked up when she saw Geet come out of the study with a radiant smile on her face followed by Maan and looked at Adi apprehensively.

They hadn't thought of getting permission for a surprise party from Maan and wondered what his reaction would be. Maan smiled at Adi and Pinky reassuringly, indicating that he was not displeased with the party.

Armaan stepped inside the outhouse, smiling widely holding the cake in one hand and a gift in another. He shoved both the things towards Adi then crept up behind Geet silently watching her as she lectured Pinky for deceiving her. He puts his arms on her waist and swung her around in the air, smiling as she shrieked and laughed.

Geet: Armaan! She giggled. Put me down right now. Armaan put her down carefully and before she could say another word, engulfed her in his arms.

Maan's smile turned into a grimace the minute some guy swung his Geet off her feet. His confusion changed to anger when Geet turned around and instead of whacking him on the head, gave him a tight hug. He wanted to break the hands that had dared to touch his Geet but seeing the smile on her face stopped him in his tracks.

Geet: So this is what you and Riddhima were planning last night? She asked Armaan sternly. Armaan who had been observing Maan closely smiled down at her. He could hardly believe that his plan was working out so well. All it took was a hug and Maan looked like he was ready to tear him apart. Maybe making Maan jealous was easier than he had thought.

Armaan: Kya babes did you really think I would forget your birthday? You are the most important person in the world to me, he said loudly and watched Maan clench his hand into a fist, a scowl on his face as he glared at him. He was enjoying watching Maan squirm with jealousy.
