Sharma residence
it's a fine Saturday morning riddhima is sleeping peacefully, after so many day's she's sleeping peacefully, everyday she would study day and night and now finally it was over. Just then the alarm rings "alarm kisne rakha" she offs the alarm clock annoyed and tries to fall of to sleep, anjali gets up "OH shit"
riddhima gets shocked to see that anji is awake at 8am on a Saturday morning "Di, aap theekh to hona?"
"haan, main naha ke aati hoon, I have to go shopping" she gets up running in the bathroom.
"di, iss time par?" she asks yawning.
"ridzi tu bhool gayi, aaj raat ko prom hai, I need to get a dress" she tells her brushing her teeth. "and beauty parlour also" she adds
"oh shit hair dresser ke paas bhi jaana hai, I don't have time" she says "tu aa rahi hai na?"
riddhima is sitting up now "nahi di, main prom mein nahi aa rahi"
anji gets shocked "What tu pagal to nahi hogayi, how can you miss the final year prom? You're kidding right?" she asks
"Nahi di, who actually mera mann nahi hai" riddhima lies.
"oh I get it, no one asked you yet?"
"nahi di, rahul ne poocha tha, lekin maine mana kardiya"
surprised "kyun?" "tu pagal to nahi hogayi? How can you miss it?"
"di, its not a big deal, mujhe rahul ka prom kharab nahi karna tha, woh mere saath bore ho jaata and besides graduation prom bhi to hai" she reminds her sister "main usme zaroor aaoongi.
"tu bhi na, anyways chal main shopping keliye jaa rahi hoon sonia aur riya ke saath" she tells her running in the shower, as soon as she gets out she calls her friends and tells them to get ready.
"chal ridzi I'll see you at night, main shayad wahin se prom pe chali jaoongi" she says hugging her and pecks her on her cheek.
"okay di, main dad ko kehdoongi" she tells her.
"you sure tujhe nahi aana? Main rohit ko kesakhti hoon, tere saath aane keliye"
"di, maine kaha na I don't want to"
"okay baba" she says while bolting out of thr room.
Riddhima sits on her bed holding her pillow "kya kahoon di, jiske saath mujhe jaana hai usne to mujhse poocha bhi nahi" she says while a tear escapes her eye.
She goes in for a shower as her sleep was gone thanks to anji, she thought annoyed, after so many days she was enjoying her sleep! She went in the shower. After a nice shower she came out and went down for breakfast. She made her hot hot tea and toast, and a cheese omlette.

Muskaan was sitting in her room lost in her own thoughts.
"Bittu, ki hoya?" her mum asked in her punjabi accent. [shes fondly known as bittu in chandigarh but armaan likes to call her mussu]
"mummyji, main soch rahi thi pass hone ke baad main kahan internship karoongi?" she asks dreamily.
She chuckles a little "tu to jaanti hai na, tere papaji teri shaadi ka besabri se intezaar kar rahe hain, tujhe lagta hai who teri internship keliye tujhe kahin bhejenge?"
"Mummyji, main abhi shaadi nahi karoongi!" she protests "Mujhe kuch banna hai aur waise bhi main doctor bhi sirf aap dono ki khushi ke liye ban rahi hoon, aur ab aap keh rahi hain ke'" she continues her argument but her dad enters and she stops seeing the angry look on his face.
"ki hoya, puttar? Her father asks calmly.
"nahi, kuch nahi pappaji" she replies, a little scared.
Although she is her dad's ladli, he loves her and lets her do what she wants, the only thing he is worried about is her marriage, to which he doesn't compromise for anything. He is strict but very sweet and loving.
"bittu, main jaanta hoon tujhe abhi shaadi nahi karni lekin beta mujhe teri chita hai" he says sitting on the bed by her side "maine duniya dekhi hai, aur main nahi chata ke tujhse koi galati hojaye aur teri zindagi'" he continues, his concern shows in his voice, he also looks a little upset about loosing her, muskaan gets a little emotional.
"Papaji, aap meri chinta mat kijiye" she says hugging her dad "papaji, main aapke chuneve ladke se hi shaadi karoongi" she says making her hug tighter "bas, mujhe kuch waqt dedijiye, kuch waqt apni zindagi jee ne keliye, kuch waqt, apni zindagi banane ke liye, please bas kuch waqt" she says with tears rolling down her eyes. Her father also has slight tears in his eyes. "Bittu, jaa tujhe waqt diya, jee le apni zindagi" he says pulling her off the hug and kissing her forhead, it brings a smile to her face "Oh papaji, thank you" she says hugging him again.
"ab aap dono ke filmy dialogue hogaye hon, to nashta karle?" her mum interrupts.
They both look up at her and smile "waise papaji who dialogue DDLJ mese tha na?" she asks on the way to the dinning room. "haanji puttarji, tere saath rehkar hum bhi thode filmy shilmy hone lage hain" he tells her and they all start laughing.

Armaan was sleeping peacefully, with atul on the same bed snoring, armaan slaps atul sleepily. "chup karna yaar, sari raat sone nahi diya"
"huh, huh, kya hua?" atul said.
Tring ~~~ Tring~~~ Tring
Rings armaan's cellphone "oh god, kya aaj koi mujhe sone dega" he screams angrily and picks up his phone "HELLO" he says harshly.
"hello sweety" says the person on the other phone.
"Tanya'" armaan says with a jerk and gets up to sitting position "howzit?" he asks
"Im okay, sweety, ummm armaan mujhe tumhe kuch kehna tha" tanya starts.
"kya baat hai?" armaan asks hearing her guilty voice.
"woh, ummm'" "armaan, actually im sorry I wont be able to come with you to the prom"
"WHAT" he jumps up, kicking his comforter out and standing up.
"what are you saying, babe, you cant do this to me"
"im sorry armaan but I have to go smewhere else, im really sorry, gottogo, tc bye" she hangs the phone.
"What the F' how can she do this to me, she ditches me now??" he says angrily.
He starts phoning all his other class mates but all of them are taken. Then finally he remembers riddhima and decides to take her because he just has to be at the prom anyways he doesn't have to be with her all the time just to enter.
Armaan had always been like that with riddhima, when he needed her he used her then forgot all about her, when he needed notes, she wrote it for him, when he bunked she would lie for him, she would help him with his assignment. Etc. she knew it but she just couldn't say no to him.
"I think she's the only one left" he thought. He takes a quick glance at the pink clock on the wall it was already 10:30am. He goes in for a shower, when he comes out he sees atul was up and waiting for him. "kal se main tere saath nahi soounga, god tu kitne kharate leta hai" armaan tells him annoyed.
"whatever" atul says running in the bathroom.
Armaan just nodds his head and stands in front of the mirror, he changes into his green T-shirt and jeans, he gells his hair, sprays a large amount of perfume and leaves the room. On his way out rahuls mother forces him to have breakfast, rahul was still sleeping. "These people are so nice" armaan thought but he had to get a place to stay, he cant take advantage. He left the house on his motorbike.

Riddhima has a breakfast and is getting bored so she goes back to her room to do some work, she starts cleaning her room. When she hears the motorbike, she looks outside her window "armaan ki bike?" she tells herself. She runs down to the door, he gets out and goe sto knock the door, but before he can knock she opens the door. He gets surprised.
"wow, that was quick" he says smiling.
"woh, tumhari bike ki awwaz se pata chalgaya, tum aye ho" she tells him smiling back.
"andar aane ko nahi kahogi?" he asks.
"aao na"
"wow, nice house" he says entering the house.
"hmm, maine aur anji ne design kiya hai"
"multi talented huh? Interior dcor"
she just chuckles "aao bhetho" she says when they reach the lounge.
"kuch kaam tha?" she asks
"kyun kaam na ho to main apni dost se milne nahi aa sakhta?"
"nahi waisi baat nahi, youa re always welcome"
"ridzi tum prom mein aa rahi ho na?" he asks
"nahi woh actually mera mann nahi hai" she lies to him.
"oh actually I wanted you to be my partner, please come"
she gets shocked "The Armaan Malik" was asking her for the prom???
"lekin tum to tanya ke saath jaa rahe the na" she asks suspiciously.
"nahi woh rahul ne bataya ke tum nahi aa rahi, to maine socha agar tum nahi aaogi to prom to bohot phiki hogi" he lies to her "isliye maine rahul ko challenge kiya ke tum mere saath zaroor aaogi, lekin ab lagta hai I'll lose" he says making a puppy face.
"okay, I'll come" she says smiling.
"really!" he jumps up."wow great, I'll pick you at 7:30" he tells
"okay"
"bye" he leaves leaving riddhima smiling to herself and feeling really happy.

At night armaan comes to pick up riddhima, she comes out in a angelic white ballroom dress, her half hair was cliped with a silver butterfly clip, she was wearing silver/ shiny long earings. He had never seen her dress this way, she was always the behenji types wearing loose t-shirts and jeans and her hair would be tied in a pony, she would always wear studs. She was looking beautiful, first time armaan noticed how beautiful she was.
"wow, you look stunning" he said, he couldn't get his eyes off her.
"thanks" she says blushing.
They go to the prom and enjoy, armaan had thought he would just take her and then find some other girl there but she was looking so good he couldn't get his eyes off her, he spend the whole time with her and got to know how nice she was, how much fun she was.
"wow, I never thought you'de be so much fun" he told her when they reached her house.
"I had a blast" he told her.
"thanks, I enjoyed myself with you aswell"

New York City.
Sunday morning, as usual the whole mccarthy family goes to there personal church, behind there house.
Riddhima's prayers:
"god you know, I've got everything I ever wanted, except for one thing that probably I'll never get, so as usual you know my list of prayers. First, Mom must get everything she wants, she should always be happy and I can be a good daughter and do what she wants.
For nana, please please finish all her sicknesses and make her well again, she has a lot more to live. Grandpa must stop drinking and smoking, he just doesn't listen to me, please please. I hope nick passes with the best grades in the exam, I hope michael proposes alice soon and they get married. I hope nick finds a very nice girl for him'" she makes a wish for all the family members except for herself and her dad.

Few weeks later on the 22nd of december the results are out!
Riddhima sharma, Armaan Malik, Atul mehra and Anjali sharma are the students in sanjeevani college who topped that means they will be doing there internship through sanjeevani they are excited.
Rahul passed with great difficulty, he got the lowest in there class.
Muskaan Passed with the highest marks in chandigarh.
Riddhima gupta was the best student of the year and got the best grades in college, as she had known.
Nick also passed with high marks.
They all were excited knowing there grades, rahul got bombed by his dad for being the worst student.

after christmas celebrations A conversation between riddhima and bella at there flat. Bella's parents were filthy rich and anirudh would also send her money every month, but bella prefered to work and build a small flat of her own, because she believed that once a daughter is married she's not her parents responsibilty. The money anirudh sent would go into ridz account every month.
Bella tells riddhima that she wants her to do her internship in india at her fathers hospital so that she can spend some time with him, riddhima argues as she doesn't want to live with savitri and her three children who are her so called brother and sisters. Bella argues with her and gives her a oath to which riddhima has to agree, she cant understand why her mom wants her to go there and spend time with him, WHY?? She was really upset with her mother to blackmail her like this. As usual riddhima's grandma would speak up for her and argue with bella to make such a silly suggesstion, her family was here not there but bella reminds her that he is ridz father and he is her family after bella is gone. [bella is suffering from blood cancer from one year, but she hasn't told ridz about it, next year she has to start chemotherapy so she wants riddhima to be away and she wants her to understand her step mother and father better]
At the airport: on 29th december 2008
Riddhima is upset with her mother and hasn't spoken to her since christmas.
"riddhima, please try to understand me, I love you my baby" her mother says with tears flowing out of her eyes.
Riddhima cant see tears in her mothers eyes, she feels bad and tears start flowing from her eyes too. She hugs her mother "I love you mom, Im sorry to be so rude, but you know I don't want to go"
"Do this last thing for me, please and happily" her mom tells her.
Ridz makes her hug tighter and starts crying.
She meets the whole family and leaves for her flight. She lands in india and sees her dad, savitri mom, rahul, urmi and pooja waiting for her. She greets her dad with a smile and the rest with a harsh look. They go home and anirudh tells her that she'll be doing her internship in one of the best hospitals in india "Sanjeevani" she didn't care about anything at the moment, she just wanted to be back in NY city. Rahul met her and she found there interests met a lot, they became friends. Although she had a hard feeling for all three of her step-siblings she needed a friend and rahul could be a good choice she thought. She insisted rahul also does he's internship in sanjeevani as she needs company and anirudh forcefully had to say yes.
