Father: (raises hand to shun him) Naina! Naina!

Naina hears the strictness in her father's voice and realises what must have transpired downstairs. She closed her eyes and let a sigh and then did a silent prayer that everything goes fine and then proceeded towards the door of her room and then began climbing down the stairs. As she did that all the resident's eyes were on her as if she had committed a huge crime ad was now going to be sentenced. Her each step made her even more nervous but then again she had to face this one day so better to get it done now.

Father: yeh me kya sunraha hu Naina? Kya Navin sach kehraha hai?

Naina: (eyes Navin and asks what he said but he just nods and remains silent) wo papa, darsal me…(her voice gets choked)

Mira: itna sab kuch hogaya or tumne hame ek baar bhi nahi bataya beta? Or mujhse bhi chuppaya

Naina: Ma…papa me maantee hu aap dono mujhse naraaz hai lekin yakeen maanye maine kuch bhi jaan bhuj ke nahi kiya. (goes to her father who had now turned away from her) papa please aap mujhpe yakeen kijye. Sach me Raj bohat accha larka hai papa. Aap ek baar osse milye to sahi. Please papa…(when she sees that he is not responding she goes over to her mother. Now her eyes filled with tears) ma…ma aap to samajhti hai na mujhe. Ma please wo bohat accha larka hai.

Mira: (comforts her daughter and then walks off to her husband) sunye, hame ek baar osse mil lena chaheeye. Ab baat is hadd tak pohoch gayee hai to behtar hoga ke ham ise aage barne se pehle sab kuch sambhaal le.

Father: tum theek kehrahee ho. (goes to Naina and embaces her) meree betee itnee bari hogayi ke mujhe pata hee nahi chala. Maine hamesha teree khushi chaaheeye hai Naina or agar yeh larka tujhe pasand hai to mujhe bhi koi aitraaz nahi.

She leaps with joy and hugs him back enthusisatically. Navin is also happy and takes the opportunity of hugging Ritu. Then Naina hugs her mother and is really excited. Then as she is going back upstairs her father lays the final bombshell.

Father: yeh sab to theek hai lekin ose pehle me parkhuna or agar wo imtehaan me safal raha to hee yeh baat aage baregee…

Naina slapped her forehead after turning away from her father of course. She knew this would mean another goofing up session by Raj and it would just turn disastrous. Oh God why was he so unfair. When she got in her room she rang him to make sure he was alright.

Rajveer: bohat jald yaad aagayee meree

Naina: galati tumhaari thi Raj. I was telling you before that I'm home with bhaiyaa but tumhaaree to aadat hai na aadhee baat sunne kee or phir…

Rajveer: agar tumne mujhe phone daatne ke liye kiya hai to me rakh raha hu

Rajveer: (there is a breif pause allerting Naina and she becomes worried as to what happened but then she is thrown back) Yaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooo!!!!!!!!! (he begins jumping around in his room) Tum nahi jaantee Naina ke yeh sun ke me kitna khush hu. Ek kaam karta hu me abhi aata hu

Naina: ruk..ruko Rajveer. Pichlee baar bhi garbar huwee lekin is baar koi garbar mat karna. Abhi is waqt aake wahi hoga. Is baar jab tumhe aana hai na to apne parivaar ke saath aana hai

Rajveer: Kyu? (confused) come on Naina onka hamare personal cheez me kya kaam

Naina: ufffo Raj, tum bhi na. Tumhaare papa aake mere ghar mere ma papa se milenge tabhi to hamara rishta teh hoga.

Rajveer: hamara rishta to pehlse hee teh hochuka hai Naina to ab yeh saaree formalities kee kya zaroorat hai?

Naina: yeh sab zaroori hai Raj samjhe tum. Agar mujhse shaadi karnee hai to yeh saare reetee rivaaj nibhaanee paregee warna you can say tata bye bye to me samjhe. (she cuts the phone abruptly)

Rajveer: are Nain…kaat diya (shuts the phone and then smiles at her innocence)

Sameera: yu akele akele muskuraarahe ho, kya baat hai?

Rajveer: (sees Sam and gets excited and rushes over to her and hugs her fiercely) Oh Sam me itna khush hu itna khush ke kya batao kitna khush.

Sam: per huwa kya brother?

Rajveer: Naina ka phone tha or osne kaha ke oske ma papa hamare rishte se khush hai or ab mujhse milna chahte hai

She goes off leaving an even more elated Rajveer who just falls back on his bed drifting off to dreamland.

Next day

Rajveer, his father and Sameera all came to the Ahluwalia's residence with the appropriate ceremonial things needed when connecting two families for marriage. Rajveer sat nervously in front of Naina's father as after what he did yesterday he didn't know how he would react with him now.

Father: (looks at Rajveer and then at Gehlot) to yeh hai tumhaare pita jo ke bijli beichte hai

Rajveer: (nearly choked on the drink he had been served whilst leaning forward. He quickly wipes it off and then looks at her father) ummmm…wo…sir…I mean wo to bus yuhi…

Gehlot: me samjha nahi aap kya kehna chahte hai

Rajveer panicks again and wishes that Naina's father wouldn't comment on his camaraderie yesterday or else he would certainly die sooner or later by the hands of his own father. Navin hid his muffled laughs behind his hand whilst Naina sat looking down towards the ground equally nervous. Not once has she shot a glance at Rajveer who by now had been dying to see her face. She kept praying that Rajveer didn't goof up and spoil everything as he always did.

Father: ji wo kya hai ke…

Rajveer: ummm dad yeh to sirf mazaak karahe the. (lets out a weak smile) aap bhi na

Gehlot laughs too and sits back questioning no further. To Rajveer's surprise Naina's father also bursts out laughing and then patts Rajveer on the shoulder saying he is not what he expected but his dauhgter's happiness means a lot for him and if she saw the goodness in him then it certainly would be true. Both the families are relieved with that and they rejoice in the new alliance. The elders get busy with the formalities whilst Rajveer keeps staring at Naina's down casted face wondering when she will lift it. It was as if she read his mind as just that moment her eyes lifted and they met with his freezing on spot.

She didn't answer back and put her eyes down again blushing over his complement. She knew he would like her in any form as that was part of the love he showered over her.

She shot up her glance after that smiling at him and they continued giving each other loving glances. Rajveer gestured to her 'I love you' followed by a wink making her jump slightly and then she looked left and right to make sure no one was looking and returned it back.

Sameera: hmmmmmm yeh sab kya horaha hai brother

He came out of the trance and gave his sister a sly look as he saw she was teasing him for no reason.

Rajveer: kya horaha hai? Kuch bhi to nahi. Kyu tujhe kuch kehna hai

The elders announce how everything has been fixed. They say that the wedding would be held a month from now as their pandit was present to take out auspiscious dates. Rajveer frowned at that thought as he couldn't wait that long but then when they announced how the engagement was two days from now he became happy again. As after that he would be bethrothed to her and will have the rightful right on her. Everyone congratulated each other and served sweets. The most happiest were Rajveer and Naina as finally their dreams were going to become true.

Two days later

The engagemnet function was being held at Shekhawat's palace on Gehlot's persistence. The whole place was lighted up with series of colourful lights and flower festoons. Colourful silk banners had been draped from stairs and ceilings transforming the whole venue into a festive mood. The guests had begun crawling in now and the place was full. Gehlot was busy conversing with them all and welcoming them whilst Sameera took care of the other formalities. The waiters roamed around serving drinks and snacks whilst they all waited for the bride and her family to arrive.

Standing in the corner with his eyes on the entrance stood Rajveer all dressed up handsomely in a white suit with a sky blue silk shirt. Aalekh was by his side. It had been two days since he had seen her and now he was dying to let his eyes feast on her beauty. How much longer was she going to take?

Soon his question got answered when he saw a number of familiar people stepping through the threshold. Slowly his heart began fluttering as his wait was about to be finished in a matter of few minutes. His eyes waited with anticipation when his heart began thmping loud and voices around him became echoes as Naina appeared through the threshold in slow motion. (hehehehe) She looked out of this world in a sky blue lengha and a halter neck blouse matching her complexion. Her matching jewellery adorned delicately on her wrists, ears, fingers and her neck complimented her serene beauty making her look even more stunning. He nearly lost his balance but Aalekh was there fortunately to support him and that's when his gaze also fell in the direction he was looking in. he also froze as soon after Naina, Neelu followed and she also looked beautiful. He had never seen her in traditional dress till date and now when he saw her in the olive green lengha he lost all his senses. Both the men kept gazing at their beaus and didn't even realise when all of them had been invited in by Gehlot and were now inside amongst the crowd.

Sameera: (clicked her hands in front of them both) yeh kya horaha hai yaha pe?

Both the guys move her out of the way with exasperation

She was irked by their rudeness and then gazed in the direction they were looking and slapped her forehead out of diebelief. It was true, love certainly made the man useless. She knew she won't be able to do anything about it so she left them.

Soon Naina's gaze met with his and she also stopped concentrating elsewhere and looked straight ahead at him. Nothing existed anymore but only him and his magnetic persona. She couldn't believe that tonight she was going to be joined with the most handsome man out of the whole world. She would be the envy of each and every girl in the hall and she just loved the notion.

Rajveer gestured with his hands as to how she was looking stunning and she lowered her eyes and gave him a shy smile. He just couldn't wait until all this stuff was over and then he could spend some time with her alone which he had been dying to do from the past few days. He had just the plan and he just needed to execute it. For the time being he was lost in her eyes and beauty that this song kept running in his head.

She realised he was teasing her so she turned away with a frown and he just smiled at her cute expressions. Even in the crowd and in the distance both of them were only able to concentrate only on each other. He began walking towards her with style so people around won't realise it but she knew he was coming so continued pretending to be angry with him.

He was near her now but made sure the elders didn't notice and took in his hand some of her flowing tresses.

he slightly blew them away bringing a smile on her face but he saw that she did that only after listening to something funny. She hadn't even noticed him do anything.

He just kept smiling at her as he let go of her hair and began walking away. After he had turned around she also turned towards him as she felt this sense of detachment. She had acknowledged his presence but on purpose had ignored him but now that he left she didn't want him to.

She searched around for him but couldn't locate him. Finally she found him in midst of a group of people where most were women and to her horror he was quite enjoying with all of them. Then she saw one woman come closer to him and whisper something in his ear and he began chuckling. She couldn't believe he forgot about her so soon. After some time he did look up at her and saw her pouting and tried to deny the incident but he knew how gullible she was and she just made a face at him and walked off. He excused himself from his friends and went over to make up with her. He caught her and quickly cornered her in the dark isolated back room near the hall.

Rajveer: Mujhko tumse pyaar nahi hai, rooth ke mujhse kehtee hai (he made her face him but she moved away irately but he caught her and in that her purse fell out of her hands and out popped numerous small post its) Lekin har kaagaz pe mera naam wo likhtee rehtee hai

She begins picking all the contents and he also bends down to help her but he prevents her from doing anything and holds both her hands and brings her closer to him.

She covers his mouth and nods for him to never say that again. He smiles and removes her hand and lays soft kisses in her palms.

slowly he began advancing towards her and their lips touched briefly as they were unable to dwell into that passion as they heard some commotion outside. Apparently people were searching for them as the ceremony had to begin but the bride and groom were missing themselves. Naina pulled back and began straighteing everything but Rajveer didn't care and pulled her closer again.

Naina: Raj kya karahe ho, log hame dhoondh rahe hai

Rajveer: to dhoondh ne do na. accha hai ke ham yaha pe hai koi hame dhoondh bhi nahi sakhenge.

Naina: (not pleased and struggles) chalo choro Rajveer isse pehle ke wo log yaha pe aajaaye. Agar hame aise saath dekh liya to bara hungama hojaaehga

Rajveer: relax Naina, tum itnee darr tee kyu ho? Dekho ab to hamaree shaadi hone waali hai to hame koi kuch nahi kahega.

They stared at each other and then were slowly advancing towards each other's lips again when the doors of the store room burst open.

Sameera: (shocked and covers her eyes with her palm) oh gosh I'm so sorry guys, I'm sorry

Naina moves away from him and straightens her slightly dishevelled clothes and hair.

Rajveer: (gives Sam a whimsical look) teree yeh knock kare bina aane kee buri aadat kab jaaehgee

Sameera: well excuse me brother (puts hands on hips) mujhe kya pata tha ke kuch log store room me bhi ghus ke milte hai warna me knock zaroor kartee. Haven't you heard of a lock?

Rajveer: hehehehe very funny. Ab bata ke itna hungama kya mach raha hai baahar

Sameera: (folded her arms across her chest) well jaha tak mujhe yaad hai ke aaj kisee kee sagai thi lekin lagta hai ke yaha pe kisee ko koi jaldi nahi. Ek kaam kartee hu sab ko yahee pe bhulaa letee hu

She turns around in the attempt to go and is just at the door when it strikes to Rajveer and he quickly runs and shuts the door and stands in front of her horrified.

Rajveer: tu meree behen hai ke dushman? Yeh kya karahee hai

Sameera: (laughing at his state) Relax brother me to sirf aap ko chiraa rahi thi. Wo to bhagwaan ka shukur maano ke darwaaza maine khola. Agar dad ya koi or ne khola hota to phir aaj to aap kee chuttee hee huwee hoti.

Rajveer: (sarcastically) so sweet of you. Ab bahaar jaa or sab sambhaal. Hum aarahe hai

Sameera: eh he eh I don't trust you guys anymore is liye me bhabhi ko apne saath le jaarahee hu

Before he could protest she grabbed Naina and was out of the room. He leaned on the door with despair but he geared himself up and decided that he'll finish off later anyways and he'll make sure they don't get disturbed.

Well after Naina and Sameera had gone Rajveer also went after a few minutes so people can't put two and two together. Then followed the engagement ceremony where Gehlot announced it and told both Rajveer and Naina to come on the small dias they had made and then both of them stood opposite each other. Rajveer gave her loving looks whilst she tried stealing glances away from him but it was easier than said. Sameera came over to him with the ring and then he picked it out of the case and then held it in front of her.

Rajveer thought: to begum is naacheez ko ijaazat hai?

Naina thought: tumhe ijazat kee kya zaroorat, yeh to tumhaara haq hai

Then she put her hand out willingly waiting eagerly for him to adorn her left hand finger with the sacred ring signifying their bond of a lifetime. He smiled and held her hand lightly and slipped the ring on the finger like a professional. Everyone clapped and congratulated and Rajveer took the oppurtunity and squeezed her hand in his plam carressing it making her quite uncomfortable in front of so many people. She gave out few weak smiles and then glaring at Rajveer to let go but he was enjoying it to the core. Then her turn came and he had to let go and she slipped the ring onto his finger and then everyone cheered. Rajveer put his arm around her bare waist and pulled her closer to him alarming her. She was too shocked to react and tried getting out thinking what people would say but he was not going to leave her. He kept smiling and posing for the camera but not letting go. She was getting embarrassed and couldn't believe he was doing this with her.

Naina thought: mujhe choro Rajveer

Rajveer thought: are abhi to kehrahee thi ke mujhe ijazat kee kya zaroorat kyu ke mera haq banta hai tum per. To phir ab wahi to jata raha hu

Naina thought: itne saare log ke beech sharam nahi aati

Rajveer thought: darling tumhe to pata hai ke me kitna besharam hu and you're stuck with me. Hahahahahahahaha

She didn't say anything further and just suffered. She was going to get back at him for everything he did and then he'll know who he messed with.

Person: hey Raj! Buddy aaj kee is haseen raat ko or haseen banade na apni aawaaz se.

Everybody: YEH RAJVEER COME ON! HHHHHHHEYYYYYYY!

Everyone begins cheering and clapping for him so he gives in and takes hold of the electric bass and then the mike but before beginning he announces.

Rajveer: aaj meree zindagee kee sabse haseen raat hai kyu ke aaj ke din mere paas wo sab kuch hai jiskee mujhe chaahat thee (gives Naina a loving glance) to aaj me yaha aap sab ke liye ghaana gaaunga lekin akele nahi. Me chahta hu ke wo shaks mera saath de jisne mujhe jeena sikhaaya or zindagi ke sahi maine sikhaaye. My darling and loving fiancee Naina.

He put his hand out for her to accept it whilst the crowd cheered for the loving couple who looked so made for each other in the matching blue attires. Perfectly complementing each other in every way. She gladly put her hand in his and followed him to the centre of the hall. Then he strummed the strings of the electric bass letting out a great tune and he was backed up with someone playing the piano for him.

He smiled at her and she also joined in.

People joined in by gathering their couples and waltzing around the hall floor around the couple. Rajveer kept going around Naina playing the tune.

She went and held onto his hands and put them on her heart

Naina: zanjeer se koi kabhi, dil ko nahi baand paaye

She shook her thumb in front of him and he just shook his head in agreement and strummed more notes on the guitar

Now everyone moved off the floor as Rajveer and Naina took over. He held her waist with one hand and her other hand with his while waltzing around the room staring deeply in her wondrous brown orbs. This was the place where he always wanted to be.

Rajveer: Jab pyaar ho, dil me basa, jannat lage saara jaha

Sabse bara, dhanwaan wo, jisko mile ulfat yaha

She rested her head on his chest

Naina: Jo pyaar me, de zindagee, chaahat pe qurbaan ho

Mushkil se wo humdum mile, jise dil kee pehchaan ho

He held her tight in his embrace forgetting about people surrounding them

Rajveer: Ishq to hai khuda, ishq hee bandagee

She pulled out and swayed along with him

Then both held hands and moved along the crowd with everyone cheering and clapping for them. They were just involved in each other and nothiong else.
