Thank you Bertie and yes I guess you have given a better explanation for the lack of urgency.
@simran I didn't notice that point. Royals take dowry and abuse DIL and also agree to you that if RGD had died or gone missing RM will cleverly cover it up.
But then why I have a soft corner for RM irrespective of the manipulator she is, is something linked to her past, which CVs have not shown yet.
Was she abused. What was her relation with respect to her husband or the royal family. Did she get the power only after RNJ was born or in a way she gave heir to the throne. I am not sure whether RM was as innocent as Gayatri. But did the tag of queen of Ameerkot hardened her. By seeing the manipulations especially that of BRM, she learned that is the way to survive. Took on quite lot of wrong lessons as survival strategy. And those strategies allowed her to survive too, as she might have been mostly alone.
Even if you see now, RM has no real control on anyone. She arm twists, manipulates to get things done, still people do many nonsense under her nose, and that includes her son.
Believe me after Sakshi Goenka of EHT, I have developed a real fascination for Rajmatha Priyamvadha for the scope the character offers.

I do agree that Rajmata appears to be the best written character in the show and Anita Raj plays her really well
BT she is the same woman who didn't care that her son is Manglik and what that would spell for her future DIL
As good as she was in yesterday's episode, that woman cares for kingdom more than she does for fairness and honesty

Having said that, the character is good in terms of the scope it offers and the grey areas it treads on😊

@sorethumb I did miss some of the initial episodes. So RNJ is Manglik, but Gayatri also has some dosh right. I mean her fiance died after engagement something like that. That's why Gopal Seth not able to marry of his daughter. So if both has dosh generally they cancel out 😃. So in that perspective she took the risk of her son's life also to marry him to a woman who has past history of fiance's abnormal death. I don't think RM believes in any tradition or any such superstition. BRM tells in one episode when Gayatri does Pooja that her DIL have not followed those sanskaars. Even RNJ has got some of these traits from her. He is also not much into Pooja and all.
And RM if you look as a character cares more about her image or the palace's image. Her conscience goes as far as it does not affect her image or palace's image. If a choice is to be made for palace image or her image she will choose that only and will ensure everyone else falls in line. If she truly cared for kingdom this much debt wouldn't have come, food grains wouldn't have rotted in the palace. And that image keeping is what gives her character the grey shade. She is not bad, but she loves her the most.

Shruthi- I like RM and oh, yeah, i liked Sakshi, another classy Mom.
They should open the backstory of RM & BRM, these two have a lot going on between them, that are not revealed.

@simran that is what I am waiting for in ETR2. Opening of the mysteries of the palace. Only then the story will have meat. Frankly speaking I have very less interest in RNJ, rant on sona , sona,. Snakes, rescue mission, temples and melodrama.
I want action which only the back stories can give 😆😆😆
Sakshi redefined the term vamp and Simone Singh walked away with most of the awards in 2014. And I hope CVs give more depth to RM so that Anita Raj also can walk away with honors next year.

I do agree that she is grey and that she did everything in her power to safe guard the palace image..
but she still did trust Gayathri to b innocent ... she did all in her power to expose the truth .. she even got fed up and asked him does he need anything else or shall i go... i mean she def is a grey character but she has a soft corner for Gayu ... she makes sure that gayu is safe ..
i dont know if at that time a King's order is irrevocable .. for her to rescue gayu in the middle of the ngt.. i wanna ignore that point as of now ...
I still wanna see how gayu reacts once she is back in palace, her interaction with RM and her gen conduct ..
Lots of posts on Swarna to b negative.. i dont want that.. i wud b really upset if she turns out to b ...

If Rajmata were truly devious and manipulative and nothing more, she would not care about G. The fact that the Queen went alone to meet the British Resident Officer late at night is good enough for her reputation to be besmirched. Not even Seth ji would have been able to defend Gayathri despite her actual reasons! Because, she had actually subverted the authority of the King and left the palace without taking his consent! Seth ji would not have been in any position to ask for his debt to be paid back after this. The debt would remain settled and her son would have the peace of mind he kept accusing her of conspiring to destroy!
However RM did not do that. She clearly has taken a liking to this girl. G's action of having stood up for RM in their very first encounter has endeared her to RM. She likes people who stand up for her! There haven't been too many in her life, I think. So RM has decided to stand up for her!

Going ahead with the marriage was a political decision! She probably thought some prayers could be performed later to avert any inauspicious effects. At that point in time, it was important to conduct the wedding and protect the royal throne and so she went ahead and did that!

I am not saying she is a fount of goodness! Clearly she will spare none who would dare to cross swords with her! The royal throne will always have her first allegiance!

But she cares more than she lets on! Her love for her son is her weakness!

Like Shruthi says, it would be nice if they started focusing on all the backstories instead of silly snakes and dargah dramas!

Yes Bertie RM for me is a image conscious woman, but she does have conscience too. And as you said Gayatri going out alone to meet Wilkinson was a fool hardy move from her whether as a Queen or as a wife. Because that was not deciding some internal matters, it had someone external associates with it. So she should have discussed her plan with RNJ as a king and husband before proceeding. Or atleast she should have told RM her plans.
RM is emotionally closeted, she rarely shows emotions and that might have a lot to do with her past. But I feel RM is very much emotionally vulnerable.
@naj I also don't want Swarna to be negative. I am loving the girl actually who has a pain of her own.

Awesome review
agree with Chandni RM was the role model she was the perfect saas, mother and queen

& Anitaji is superb as RM 👏
i always love the mother -son confrontation

about Govind seth he loves his daughter so much just like my Dad whenever i saw his love & care for his daughter & his treating his daughter like a princess it reminds me my father's care & love for me & my sisters & i feel so blessed...
love Gayu & her father 's bond

Damayanti love her daughter & is so connected with her it was so good to see she can feel when her daughter is in danger

she might hv taken some wrong decisions for her daughter but her all intentions were to protect her daughter frm her bhabhais & taunt of ppl

sometimes parents do take some tough decisions for their children but they always care about their children & love them
