Chapter 4 b

At night struggling with dinner she was reconsidering about her decision to work with Singhania's. She would not have partnered with Singhania's if Prem had not put his personal interest first rather than the project. She intended to whack the Singhania's by refusing their proposal but things took an odd turn. She knew working with Raghav would not be pleasant for her but the project was worth it. She was back in Mumbai where she wanted to build her dream project - Aashiyaan'. Aashiyaan' - a low budget residential building for the middle class people with all indispensable facilities. She knew the importance of money for a common man and thus wanted to provide them with this economical yet quality living. Singhania's guaranteed her full authority of the project and this was enough for her to agree for their proposal. A cherry on the top to her was making Raghav Singhania have a taste of his own medicine.

That night he stayed back after office hours not just to look emptily at her photo but instead to voice his heart out to her. He had scrutinized her fair enough in these 2 days to know that the smile which always made him go crazy was lost somewhere. He had seen her standing with the crowd but not being a part of the crowd. He had seen the overuse of monosyllables by the same girl who once could not stop chattering. He knew his Kalpi was hidden somewhere behind this KJ and he vowed to hunt her down and give her all the happiness he had once promised but never fulfilled. That night the determined Raghav Singhania who was lost in these past 5 years awakened again.

He reached home before his usual time in an ebullient mood much to his mother's surprise. She was equally ecstatic to share a meal with him in such a perky mood after ages. She saw him smile dreamily and then enjoy every morsel of the food for the first time in these past 5 years. She could not control her tears of joy and showered Raghav with lots of pecks. He too hugged her and assured her that things will be like this from now on and will last the same way forever. She instantly knew there was something cooking up in Raghav's mind. However, she preferred for her son to share his feelings with her at the right time rather than pressurizing him to open up that very moment.

Sorry for the errors, if there are any. Also, apologies for giving a late update and that too a small one. There might be another small update put up by tonight, if possible.Sorry readers but at the moment I am loaded with few assignments and a take home exam all due next week :)

Chapter 5

Kalpana stopped her car in front of Singhania Chawl and was looking out through the window. It was early morning and people were leaving for their jobs. She started reminiscing about her past right from her childhood till the day she left this place. She was never a coward and never wanted to run away from her problems .But, she knew if she wanted to fulfil her mother's dream she had to go away from Raghav and his memories. Staying back in Mumbai would have never let her get over Raghav and accept Raghav and Pakhi as a married couple She also knew that that if she would go far away then might be eventually Raghav will respect his marriage and forget her. And she was right. Even after the arrest of Sahil and Neetu Kapoor she had seen their happy family pictures in newspaper and on TV.

Amidst all this she never forgot to fulfil her duties towards her family. Every month and on special occasion she would send them letter and gifts. She never talked about where she was but through those letters she assured them of her well-being and her struggle to fly high in the sky. Her family was financially better now but still preferred to stay in the same chawl until Pakya was married. The voice of her brother who was screaming Bye Aai and Baba' brought her back in the reality. She quickly shut the window of the car so that nobody notices her. She was yearning to meet her family but was waiting for the blueprints of Aashiyaan' to be approved by the Mumbai city council. That day she would meet her parents and gift them their new home. That perfect moment is just a couple of days away' she sighed and drove off towards Singhania's office. She did not want to waste time and wanted to start this project as soon as possible.

You are late Mr. Singhania' she stated as soon as Raghav entered his office. Raghav and Sammy looked at the wall clock to find the time 9:05 am. Next time I expect you to be on time and not to waste my time' she verbalized. Let's go inside and discuss' he replied. He did not want Kalpi to talk to him like this in front of his employees. You will have to keep your ego aside now' whispered Sammy in Raghav's ear and left with Kalpi giving him a smirk. With a gullible smile on his face he just followed his lady love.

His cabin was still the same. She could see the god statue she had gifted him still at the same place. She took a seat and tried to compose herself. He asked the peon to get 3 cups of coffee: 2 black with one spoon sugar for him and Sammy and one latte with extra sugar for Kalapna. Bhaiya get me a black coffee without any sugar' she uttered directly to the peon. She had definitely earned a lot of money but she respected every individual irrespective of his monetary status. So, she has changed her taste too?' wondered Raghav looking at the lady sitting right in front of him. She was looking all profession decked up in a black business suit and concentrating much on the file in her hand than him. Sammy guessed the weirdness in the surrounding and started saying Kalpi, how have you been in these past years? Why you never contacted us?'

Mr. Raizada, I have been very well and I would appreciate if we could keep this meeting professional and not make it personal' she replied. I have been looking at these set of guidelines that you have provided me yesterday and there seem to a problem with few of the points' she said and went on to change the topic. Last thing she wanted to discuss her personal life in front of Raghav. Sammy had been close to her in the past but he was Raghav's best friend. She had to maintain a professional behaviour with Sammy as well. She and Sammy discussed on few the points while sipping their coffee while Raghav kept staring at her thinking about something. When she was fully immersed in the discussion he lifted her coffee cup and drank a sip of the bitter drink tasting her strawberry flavoured lipstick. Not bad' he exclaimed loudly keeping the cup back in the same position without anyone's notice and relishing the taste of the drink over and over again. Both Sammy and Kalpana looked at him only to find him grinning and playing with his coffee cup. The very moment in order to divert their attention from him he became serious and started giving his opinion but was left speechless when he saw Kalpana taking another sip of coffee from her cup. To him it was a putative meeting of their lips and he was so jubilant about this incident. He craved to get up from his chair, move forward and kiss her passionately but instead had to suppress his desires by clutching the arms of his chair.

I was busy studying but this part was all over my mind and I could not stop myself from writing this. Enjoy reading :) Sorry for the errors, if present
