Chapter 5

A Black Shadow

Kalpi opened her eyes .The world seemed to whirl around her.She tried to fathom where she was. She felt dizzy .Somehow she managed to make herself sit with the help of pillows . She looked at the wall clock it was late noon. The night events flashed in her mind. She felt like banging her head for beliving Prem . How could she believe a chamalion like Prem and expect him to be human ! She heard the knock at the door and before she could answer she heard the person come in.

'Raghav ! ', she exclaimed while she wrapped her robe tighter. 'Is not the door closed ?'

Raghav looked at her sternly and closed the door behind.

'Yes, now its closed and i have the second key , any more questions '.

Kalpi kept quit .She dared not speak .The somber look of Raghav said it all. He was not at all happy by her carelessness .

Raghav pulled the chair and sat beside her still staring hard at her, his eye brows raised high giving him a more flinty look.

'So what were u thinking Miss Jadhav while dancing so sleazily with that idiot.'

'i was not sleazy', kalpi tried to explain her plight.

'Really ! Miss Jadhav , because what i saw was that u were falling on him and so desperate to...'he was npt able to complete his sentence.

'Just shut up ', Kalpi cut him vehemently . Her red face and grudging jaws were enough to add deeper intensity to her anger. She felt pathetic within .His words pierced her hard.

But Kalpi anger had no effect on Raghav ,it angered him even more. He angrily stood up kicking the chair behind. His tall stature shadowing her frail little lump wrapped in gown and bed sheet.

Kalpi was shocked by his unexpected anger and rash actions. She was expecting a polite consolation from the man who actualy saved her from embarrassing herself forever and the one who was seemingly their with her whole night caring for her .

Tears rolled down her cheeks .She suddenly missed her parents the most .She wanted to run in her baba's arms and wanted to be consoled by her aai . Alas ! she had none and one she had stood hovering over her angry and unforgiving .

Raghav heard her soft sob and realised the impact of his anger ,his continence softened . He by no means wanted to hurt her but did want her to realise the blunder she did.

He sat beside her on the bed being careful enough to maintain the distance.He knew touching her would make him loose and his very purpose to make her realise her fault would be defeated..

His voice was soft now , 'Look Kalpi . Whatever i said was something that everybody saw. I did try to warn u on the dance floor itself. But u seemed lost. Thats why i followed u and realized that ...

Again he was cut in between by Kalpi , ' that I am drunk and not in senses. Right ! '.

yes he nodded

'And u still say those filthy things to me and that i was being a s**t. ', growled Kalpi pushing Raghav hard. Raghav words had pierced her deep and she wanted to kill him for saying so. Never had ever a man dared to question her character and Raghav was saying on her face !

Raghav tried to stop Kalpi grabbing her hands which she had aimed on his face. He had seen her voilent but never expected someday it would come handy on him .Her nails pierced his arms while she tried to free herself from his grab which tightened even more .

She is such a small thing with so much of strength .Raghav thought as he tried to manage her . Soon a mere action to stop her turned into a serious fist fight . Raghav ended up pinning Kalpi on bed pushing her down by his weight which was enough to crush her for time being. She sweated and went silent for a moment.

Her face was a mix of tears and sweat . Her large black eyes brimming with tears . He could listen to her heart throbbing beneath and then she cried whole heartedly .

'I am not sleazy .i am not a ...'

her mouth was shut by Rahav's hand .It was enough for him .he could not take it anymore .Her tears always weakened him. He loosened his grip on her .

'Obviously u r not Kalpi .,either in senses or without senses. U r not sleazy. U did fight with Prem when he tried to come near u'

He slowly moved away the strands of hairs that had come on her face.

and u know what .u r damn beautiful when u have no clothes on

Kalpi was taken aback by Raghavs words . One moment before she wanted to hurt him worst and now she quivered out of blush ,realizing she had been seen that way to be appreciated so.

She realised her gown was open .She clutched her gown and tried to slide away from beneath him but stopped. She stared at his chest that revealed from his shirt whose buttons have been broken by her her fist fight. She could see her own deep nail scratches on them.She gulped to moisten her throat that had gone dry seeing the damage she had done. She softly placed her hands on them and saw him wince and then she realised he had been staring at her. So keenly .

Kalpi hugged him tightly closing her eyes and then she ended up saying something she never wanted to say 'I love u Raghav ' .

She heard him take a long breath when she said those words his arms girdling tightly round her back .

Raghav could feel her heaving heart and wetness of her tear drops on his shoulder. Her words resonated in his ears. The girl he loved did love him back and a he knew she ws waiting for him to speak the same.

But he didn't .Love needed to wait as it was not in his top priority right now . He had some other plans to implement before he finally came up to love.

Raghav tried to break away the embrace but his body revolted ,it ached for her softness and he wanted to have more of it. He knew it was a wrong thing to do but then something in him said their was nothing wrong to be near to the things that belonged to him and Kalpi did belong to him. Every single speck of her belonged to him .he pulled her closer ,he did not want any space in between. He wanted to make her feel how he felt for her .

He grabbed her hand by which she had been clutching her gown making her grip loosen and slowly she realised she was loosing control from herself too .

'Raghav ', she murmered and realised his hands moving inside her gown . She stared in his eyes in bewiderment , the eyes which reflected her own desires and laungings . She lowered her eyes as those mirrors embarrased her. But then her face was grabbed between the strong hands and she was made to look in them straight .

'Why r u looking down Kalpi ?. Their is nothing wrong in having something that belongs to us.'

Kalpi tried to free herself. U r not mine Raghav and nether i m urs'. She felt the grip tightning and she was grabbed even nearer ,his hands moving deep down her waist

'No ', she fought
'Yes ', he persisted and then felt her slowly giving in .Letting him explore her body while she closed her eyes tightly.

He stopped surprising Kalpi who suddenly felt dejected . She looked at him her eyes wide open and then he smiled.

'Please look at me like this Kalpi . Dont make me feel i am doing something wrong.'

Kalpi smiled as she touched his face softly .I promise u Raghav .i will never regret it and tears swelled in her eyes .She was happiest girl on earth right now and future she didn't know.

Raghav kissed her forehead and smiled then let me tell u one truth of your life Kalpi .

Kalpi looked surprised ,'What truth?

'That i am ur truth, Kalpi u will always find me by ur side like ur shadow .Always.'

'O really', Kalpi laughed, 'Are u some God who knows truth about me !'

Raghav smiled softly caressing her arms,' I dont know of God Kalpi but i am ur only man be sure of it ' , and he placed his lips on hers before Kalpi could come up with some other argument . He did not want to regret any moments of this memorable day and wanted to make it best for both.

Sammy waited for Raghav in his office. Raghav had called him for some important decision. but it was over one hour he has been waiting and their was not a glimpse of Raghav. Suddenly his phone rang .

'Sammy i took the decision and its already in news .Sorry i kept u waiting. but it was quick ', and the call was disconnected.

Sammy rolled his eyes. as usual Raghav took is decision at nick of the time and he was being informed as usual.

Sammy decided to check the latest news .

Kamla collected the morning newspaper and kept in on Kalpi's bed side . She understood nothing what was written in those English newspaper but the picture of Raghav Singhania on front page caught her eyes.She asked inquisitively .

'Kalpi why is Raghav baba having his picture in newspaper.Koi bada kaam kiya kya '

Kalpi was busy combing her tangled long hairs . Her hairs were always a mess after wash and add to this mess came her mothers non stop questions on her favorite Raghav baba !

'aii let me comb my hairs first then i will read it for u '.

Kamla pushed newspaper in her hands. 'Let me comb ur hairs .u always mess them up.' and then added again while she combed her hairs.

'bata na kalpi raghav baba ka kya news hai '.

Kalpi unwillinly read the newspaper while her mother tried to unravel her tangled hairs .

'Raghav Singhania decides to get hitched : Declares his marriage with Paaki Kapoor.'

'Matlab !', asked Kamla still confused what it really meant .

But to Kalpi her voice seemed to come from a distant long tunnel. The world came crashing down for Kalpi . She felt dizzy. The words of Raghav still echoed in her mind.

'I am ur truth Kalpi . U will always find me by ur side like ur shadow'.

Now she realized the meaning of his words .Yes he was the truth of her life and he would always exist by her side like a shadow . A Black Shadow .

Hey Shane! Wonderful update. Started romantically and given us a sad ending. Hope raghav realises his love is more important than his revenge and rectify his mistake soon.Before marrying 'you know who'. I don't want her name in the same context as raghav. Keep up the good work👏
