😊I'm back with the 6th part of this SS my DEAREST friends. I know you all must be furious with me because of updating so late but I'm really helpless...😔 This last year of my school is sucking the life out of me...But a good news is that I'll be updating again during the weekend because I've almost finished with the next part. 😃 So till then please tolerate this part.This part may seem a little shorter than usual.So here goes Part 6...

Recap: Manvi looked at the tall building in front and on reading the name her eyes widened. It was written in golden among the white 'The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center'. Manvi stared back at Virat finding no suitable words to say. She had realized the reason behind their coming to the US. The reason was--- her treatment.

PART-6

Manvi looked deep into the eyes of the person who was her life partner now. She silently thanked God for giving her a jewel like Virat. She was so touched that her eyes started to tear up. Virat immediately cupped her face seeing this and spoke. "Kya ho gaya Manvi. I'm so sorry maine tumhe pehle bataya nahi. Surprise dena chahta tha tumhe par maine to tumhe rula hi diya'," Virat said feeling guilty. "Nahi Virat main ro nahi rahi...Yeh toh khushi ke aansu hain yeh soch ke ki...ki... I'm so lucky to have you Virat," Manvi said and immediately flung her arms around him and hugged him. Virat was taken aback at first but then he hugged her back smiling. They lost themselves in the bliss of the moment and may be would have remained like that till eternity when the sound of a horn brought them back to the real world. A sudden shyness crept up within both and they entered the Cancer research institute looking down, suddenly more attentive than usual about the steps they were taking. On reaching the reception Virat moved forward when suddenly someone called his name from behind in an excited tone. Virat turned back to look at the caller and seeing the figure in front of him his face lit up in recognition.

"Alisha!!! What a pleasant surprise! Tum yahan?," Virat asked with a huge smile adorning his face. "I'm a doctor here. Par tum yahan kaise Virat? Kitne saal baad mil rehe hai hum!," Alisha exclaimed her face showing the same happiness as Virat. They shared a small hug when Virat noticed Manvi glaring at him as her face was turning redder than a tomato with each passing second. Seeing her reaction the hug really remained "small". Virat ushered Manvi and introduced her to Alisha. From the introduction Manvi came to know that Alisha and Virat had been batch mates in their college days. Alisha was a Medical student whereas Virat was in the Law stream. But being a highly talented pianist along with being a brilliant student she was quite popular and quite a good friend of Virat as well because he was a singer . So the reunion after almost six years was bound to be emotional and exciting to them. Alisha's sugar sweet smile on getting introduced to Manvi made Manvi forget her insecurities regarding Virat and she found herself smiling back warmly at Alisha.

"Toh kis doctor se milne aaye ho tum dono?" Alisha enquired. Manvi knew nothing about this so first she stared blankly at Alisha and then at Virat. "Doctor Matthews," Virat answered. "Oh Sir se milne aaye ho. Par aaye ho kiske liye?," Alisha asked highly confused. "Woh mere liye. Darasal mujhe cancer hai," Manvi replied instantly. The joyous environment suddenly vanished with this reply. Virat's face darkened and Alisha's face turned pale with shock. Manvi saw Alisha's eyes were brimming with tears. She felt a strong urge to stop those tears. "Arre bare bare love stories mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hai yaar," Manvi stated in a desperate attempt to lighten the situation. Both Virat and Alisha couldn't help but laugh at such a comment. "Believe me Virat you are a very very lucky man. Aisi biwi toh naseebwaley ko hi milti hain. Humesha issey sambhalkar rakhna," Alisha said touching Manvi's cheeks.

The three of them reached Dr. Matthews' room. In his fifties, Dr Matthews was a fair, well-built gentleman. He warmly welcomed them. Both Virat and Manvi took a seat while Alisha stood beside them. Virat presented all Manvi's reports. Dr Matthews after going through some of the reports, called for a nurse. He gave necessary instructions to the nurse and then looked at Manvi and said, "Mrs Vadhera we need to conduct some tests to diagnose the present stage of your cancer and we'll also get a fair idea of what treatment will be best for you through them. Sister please take her." Manvi looked at Virat who nodded at her in an assuring manner. Alisha noticed that Manvi took her hand away from Virat's which had been holding it right from the time they had sat down. She smiled seeing the endless love between the two.

While Manvi was away, Dr. Matthews began explaining Virat about the various treatments possible. He said, "But it all depends on whether her body responds positively to those treatments." "Sir if you don't mind can I please take up Manvi's case please," Alisha requested earnestly. "It's a difficult task Dr Alisha. As far as I have seen from her previous reports her body is not reacting very positively to chemotherapy. Still if you want to take up this challenge you are most welcome," Dr Matthews replied. Just then Manvi entered the room with the nurse. She had just heard the last part of what Doctor said. She was elated that Alisha would be the one to undertake her treatment. She had developed a great liking for her within this short time. Alisha was extremely happy as well to have got permission.

"Mera ghar yahi pass hi hai Manvi. Spring valley mein. Please tum dono zaroor ana. Mujhe bohot khushi hogi,"Alisha said before parting.Manvi smiled and nodded in positive from the car and both Virat and Manvi waved goodbye to Alisha. On reaching home, Ann handed over the phone to Manvi. Bringing it to her ear she heard the sweet voice of her even sweeter sister. "Kaisi hai meri pyaari Mannu," Jeevika enquired. "Main bohot achchi hoon di . Pata hai Virat mujhe aaj kahan le gaya tha?" "Doctor ke pass.Hume pata hai Mannu." "Aap sab log jaante they di? Sirf mujhe hi nahi pata tha!" Manvi screamed in shock. "Arre baapre Mannu shant ho ja. Behri banake choregi kya mujhe?" "Nahi di this is not done. Aap sablog mujhse saari baatein chupayi.Chalo baat nahi karti main aapse. " "Itna gussa nahi karte beta. Humlog kya kare, tumhare patidev ne hum sabse promise jo karwaya tha," Vanshika answered surprising Manvi. "Maa aap! Kaisi ho aap? Aur kaise hain ghar ke baaki log?" Manvi asked. "Sab achche hain beta bas tum dono ki bohot yaad aati hain," Vanshika replied emotionally.

Next Viren took the phone and began with his leg pulling, "Kya baat hai meri eklauti saali sahiba toh kaisi chal rahi hai aap dono ki honeymoon?" "Kya jeeju aap bhi na," Manvi said blushing a deep shade of red. "Achcha Manvi Virat ko phone dena zara kuch zaroori baat karni thi," Viren requested and Manvi obeyed immediately and handed the phone to Virat who had been smiling and watching her all this time. "Haan bhai boliye,"Virat took the phone and moved away. Manvi went to the kitchen to check what was being prepared for dinner.

"Dekh Virat Manvi ki treatment phirse start hone hi wali hai. Maine aaj tere room mein yahan pe woh cheque dekha jo maine tujhe diya tha. Shaadi ke chakkar mein tu itni important cheez le jana hi bhool gaya yaar. Chal koi nahi main kal he tere account mein paise transfer kar deta hoon, tu ATM se utha lena thik hai,"Viren stated dutifully. Virat promptly interrupted,"Bhai suno na, darasal baat yeh hai ki maine who cheque jaan boojhkar chhor aaya. Manvi ab meri zimmedari hai bhai aur main apne zimmedari khud nibhana chahta hoon. Shaadi ke waqt maine apne apse wada kiya tha ke Manvi ka poora khayal rakhunga aur woh bhi apne hi balboote par. Manvi ke treatment ke liye jo bhi kharch hongi woh main khud uthaunga. Chahe mujhe kitni takleef kyun na uthani pare yeh paise main hi apne kaabiliyat se ekkhattha karunga. Aap sirf mujhe apna ashirwaad aur support dete rehna Bhai. Mujhe aur kuch nahin chahiye." Manvi had come to give Virat his coffee but had stopped dead in her tracks on hearing what Virat was telling Viren over the phone. She realized exactly how much her love had changed Virat. She silently promised to be always beside him in this struggle of his. A lone tear escaped her eyes... a tear which reflected the happiness within her, a tear of the endless love she felt for the person who was more than her life,Her Virat.
