Hello all of you...😊 I know I updated after a very long time... But I could not manage to do it sooner due to my exams...Also this part required a lot of research work... I had to write about a place I know nothing about at all...I've never been out of India so it took me a lot of time to find out the details about everything...I hope you all will forgive me for being so late...This part is huge and quite lengthy... i hope you'll have enough patience to read it😛...So here goes PART 5...I hope you'll enjoy it...:
Recap: "Kahan ja rehe hai hum Virat? Aur woh bhi ghar se door iss car mein ? " Manvi enquired. Just as always Virat's reply stunned her. "We are going for our honeymoon darling," Virat grinned widely and looked out of the car window without bothering to give any more explanation.
PART-5
Manvi looked at her surroundings with wide, awestruck eyes. She, Manvi Chaudhery sorry sorry she had become Manvi Singh Vadhera now, was standing at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Texas, US!!! She still could not believe it. Only a day ago she had entered the airport in Chandigarh and within this short span of time she had already been to three airports. The second time was at Delhi and now in Texas, so many miles away from her homeland. Just when she was about to feel sad about leaving India, she looked at the clocks surprised. It was half past five in the morning but this was not what shocked her. It was the date that surprised her greatly. They had started on the night of the 29th of August then how come the watch still showed 29th even after a journey of 15 hours and 10 minutes? May be it has stopped, she thought to herself. On turning around she suddenly collided with someone'
Virat was standing at the queue for collecting their luggage. He remembered his newly wed wife's antics the previous night, their first night after marriage. And what a night it was--- Unique'just like the two of them'
(flashback)
When Manvi had started complaining about Delhi being one of the most unromantic places for honeymoon, Virat had surprised her by taking her to verify their boarding passes for another journey at the Delhi Airport. Manvi's dazed expressions were a sight to watch. The huge size of the aircraft amazed her greatly followed by the announcement about the flight's destination and travel time. They were going to US and Virat had not even given her the slightest hint about it. She was furious now and almost pounced on him like a "bhookhi sherni" as Virat called her at times. "Agar mujhe pata hota ke tum shaadi ke baad goonge ho jaoge toh main tumse hargiz shaadi nahi karti. Mujhe tension dene mein bohat mazaa aata hai na tumhe?Itni important baat tumne mujhse chupaya ke hum log abroad ja rahe hai!!! Ab mujhe tumse baat hi nahi karni jao," she burst out. "Apne ho chuke pati ke saath aisa karogi tum Manvi? Sorry yaar. Please maaf kardo," Virat begged with a puppy face. As he had kept Manvi in total suspense throughout, she seemed determined to take revenge. Seeing his face she thought of a plan. "Maafi chahiye mere ho chuke patidev ko? Maaf main kar sakti hoon par ek shart par. Aur woh hai ke tumko flight mein pura time meri seva karni paregi aur entertain bhi," Manvi replied with an air of authority. "Jo hokum mere aka," said Virat without thinking. "Ab dekho bachhu mein kya haal karti hoon tumhari," Manvi thought to herself smiling.
Manvi straightaway began with her process of taking revenge. "Virat mujhe bhookh lagi hai, mujhe abhi ke abhi khani hai," Manvi demanded. "Thodi der mein hi yeh attendants serve karenge khana," Virat tried to explain. "Nahi mujhe abbhi chahiye. Agar tum nahi laye to maafi ke barey mein sochna bhi maat," Manvi stated with the most serious face possible while her heart began doing Bhangra. "Thik hai jata hoon," Virat said with a puckered face and got up to get food for her. On returning he saw Manvi watching a comedy flick on the screen in front and laughing her heart out. Manvi turned her face and one look at his face told her that he had to take a lot of troubles to get the food for her. Her mission was successful. After having it she thought of another plan. "Ab mujhe gaana sunao. Mujhe neend nahi aa rahi," she ordered sweetly. "KYA!!! Pagal ho gayi ho kya? Iss plane mein, itne logon ke samne main gaana gaunga? No ways. Are you crazy??" Virat questioned shocked. "Maafi chahiye ki nahi chahiye?" Manvi asked raising her eyebrows. "Par'," Virat tried to protest. "Either tum gaao or else no maafi," Manvi declared stopping him. Manvi lied down closing her eyes. Virat began muttering, "yeh shaadi kar ke kahan phas gaya yaar. Jeena haram kar ke rakh diya mera. Badi Beeji ne hi sahi pehchana tha iss ko'Churail." " Kuch keh rahe ho kya chep?Aur faltu ki baatein khatam ho gayi ho toh apna kaam shuru karo nahi toh maafi ki baat bhool jao," Manvi blackmailed once again. Virat finding no other option began singing as softly as possible so that his voice did not reach the other fellow passengers. Manvi was too tired to do anything more and fell asleep in a matter of minutes. "Ek number ki bandariya ho tum' Par jaisi bhi ho iss duniya ki sabse pyaari larki ho and that's why I love you," Virat said softly before himself going to sleep.
'"Excuse me." Virat was brought out of his flashback by one of the fellow passengers who asked for some space so that he could collect his baggage. "Yeah sure," Virat said making way for the man.
Manvi collided with someone. She looked in front to see an elderly woman in her sixties. She was an American lady and though she was old she was quite beautiful. Her golden locks of hair complimented her kind and caring face very well along with a pair of hazel eyes which seemed to sparkle with a strange kind of satisfaction. "I'm so sorry," Manvi said before kneeling down on the ground to help the lady gather her belongings which had fallen down. "No my dear why are you sorry? It was entirely my fault. I just walked into you without noticing," she replied apologetically. "Thank you so much child for helping me out," the lady said with a bright smile, her voice brimming with gratitude. Manvi had developed an instant liking for this woman the moment she had heard her sweet loving voice. "By the way you look like a newcomer to this city'Oh I've not yet introduced myself. This is what happens at my age. I'm Rosalie. Rosalie Roberts," she continued. "I'm Manvi Chaudhary. Oops sorry, not chaudhary, Manvi Vadhera," Manvi said correcting herself and shaking hands with Rosalie. "You're newly married right?" "Ya but how did you?" "The way you made a mistake with your surname proved it," Rosalie said with a smile. "Are you from India by any chance?" Rosalie asked. "You are correct. I am from India," Manvi answered. "Enjoy your stay here dear. I am having this feeling that we'll surely meet again. Goodbye for now. It was really nice to meet you and may God bless you," she said. "It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Can I please call you aunt?" Manvi asked to which Rosalie nodded in positive. They both wished each other goodbye and slowly Rosalie left from there. As soon as Rosalie went out of sight Manvi felt someone's hand on her shoulder. She turned with a smile to find her husband smiling back at her.
After a journey of about half an hour Manvi found a board with the words "Welcome to Hunters Creek Village". She liked the name of the place a lot. Throughout the journey she had been watching the picture perfect city of Texas with people walking about the streets busily. She did not quite like the people being so busy with their work. But Houston was a lovely place. This city had life and work intermingled in a beautiful way. The simultaneous presence of nature and technology in this place pleased her greatly. Manvi suddenly remembered about the clock in the airport and immediately asked about it to Virat. "Oh I forgot to tell you. Manvi actually woh kya hai ki yahan ka time India se saare dus ghante (10.30 hours) peeche hai. So apni ghari (watch) ki time badal lo." "O toh yeh baat hai, par phir ab toh wahan India mein sham ke saare char(4.30 pm) baj rahe honge," Manvi replied excited like a child.
Manvi resumed looking out through the car window at the beautiful landscape of the place. She began admiring the wonderful homes which were surrounded by greenery. Manvi was wondering if one of these houses could be hers when their car came to a stop in front of one of these beautiful houses. The path leading to the house was covered by flowers on each side and lush green lawns extending beside the flower beds. Huge eucalyptus trees were there scattered in the lawn. Manvi was left speechless seeing the house. She walked beside Virat as if under a spell to the doorstep of the house. Only when Virat pressed the bell did Manvi come back to reality and she asked, "yeh kiska ghar hai Virat?" " Waise ghar toh dadaji ka hai par yeh agle kuch mahino ke liye humara ghar hoga," Virat replied beaming with happiness. "Kuch mahine!!!!! Matlab?" Manvi almost shrieked at this new news. "Hume yahan bohat kaam hai Manvi," Virat said his tone suddenly turning grim and his face clouded with worry. But soon the grimness evaporated and was substituted by one of his most peaceful smiles. Just then the door of the house opened.
Virat and Manvi's new home:
A middle aged lady opened the door and immediately her face lit up with a smile seeing the two of them. She came out on the porch and cheerfully began, "A very hearty welcome to both of you Virat sir and'" but stopped abruptly when Virat sensed her problem and replied, "Manvi. Her name's Manvi." "And a very hearty welcome to you as well Manvi madam," she replied after smiling gratefully at Virat for helping her by telling Manvi's name." "And Manvi she's our housekeeper, Mrs Ann Dawson," Virat introduced. Manvi replied with a polite hello and her lovely smile adorning her face. They were about to enter the house when Mrs Ann stopped them and rushed inside indicating them to wait. What Manvi saw next touched her to the core. Mrs Ann came holding a plate with red sandal, crimson and rice in it and applied tilak on Virat and Manvi's forehead. She moved aside to reveal a kalash with rice in it. Manvi softly kicked the kalash with her left foot and entered the house with Virat by her side. She was so touched by this gesture that her eyes had watered up. As soon as they entered the house they heard the sound of clapping and turned their heads to find a laptop open and in it the entire Vadhera family was visible clapping excitedly. Manvi rushed to the laptop with Virat following her. "Maa, chachi, buaji, di, dadaji, jiju, chachu, shlok'!!!" Manvi was super excited to see them on live video chat. "Family tree banane ka plan hai kya? Aur koi naam baki reh gaya ho toh main help karun?" Virat taunted from behind. "Tum na apna muh bandh rakkho Virat. Humare family bonding time mein tumhare PJs mat sunao. Toh kaise ho aap sab log?" Manvi continued after stopping Virat. "Hum sab thik hai beta tum dono kaise ho?" Vanshika asked. "Hay ni Manvi kitni sukhi sukhi lag rahi hai, Virat tera khayal nahi rakh raha kya?" Kadambari questioned even before Manvi could answer. This continued as the entire Vadhera clan asked about their well being. Both Virat and Manvi were very grateful to Ann as she was the one who had arranged everything. After they thanked her, Ann led them to their room.
The interiors of the house:
The living room their bedroom
The dining room
kitchen
Manvi had very high expectations from the interiors of the house after seeing its extraordinary beauty from the outside and she was definitely not disappointed seeing the inside. Everything--- right from the furniture to the color of the walls and the appliances, reflected class and elegance. Manvi was greatly pleased with her new home. Virat and Manvi began unpacking their things and both began arranging their things in place. Manvi took some clothes of hers and went towards the wardrobe but sadly (though 'luckily' would be a better word) failed to notice the strap of another bag near her feet and hence tripped and fell on Virat who was nearest to her and Virat as a result lost his balance and fell on the bed with Manvi on top of him. They shared an eye lock which seemed to last for eternity. The world seemed to vanish around them as they remained in that position lost in each other's eyes. Virat slowly moved the strands of hair falling on Manvi's face. Manvi's breathing became heavy at his touch and seeing her reaction Virat could not stop himself. He slowly brought his face closer to her. Just when their lips were about to touch the moment was ruined by Ann's knock on the door. "Oh God Kya timing hai yaar," both of them muttered simultaneously and then burst out laughing as they both had said the same thing.
Later in the evening Virat took Manvi out to show her around in the BMW that had brought them here from the airport. Virat introduced her to their chauffer Derek, a young man of their age. He was a very cheerful guy and did his duty with a lot of love. He had promised to Manvi that he would show her all the places in and around Houston. The car suddenly stopped and Virat got down and opened the door for Manvi. "Yeh raha humara first and most important destination," Virat stated excitedly. Manvi looked at the tall building in front and on reading the name her eyes widened. It was written in golden among the white 'The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center'. Manvi stared back at Virat finding no suitable words to say. She had realized the reason behind their coming to the US. The reason was--- her treatment.
