Also every new ritual or custom that is started with a good intention and for a specific reason that may have been valid for that time period continues and gets manipulated by the humans in power,

Really thanks to the writers of DABH and Star plus for taking bold steps in mixing entertainment with such serious and sensitive issues.

Thank you Juna for your encouraging words. I am happy you agree with me that it is not God's will that we be discriminated but the will of a man reinforced by support from our own gender like Bhabo and Meena.

Very enlightening post Umduji...
Even I have always believed that for their own domination, men over the centuries have moulded and disconfigured the great scriptures. I agree with all your thoughts and the degradation and downfall of women in our society is the result of the men who always wanted to be the superior power.
In India in rural areas all these so called traditions are still practiced with rigidity and that is what DABH is trying to show and how each little step can free us from these prejudices.
Thanks for creating such a thought provoking thread.👏👏

I just watched yesterday's episode.🤔.
Now, How much it's appropriate to show any polymathic forecasting the future??🤪 The Brahmin was predicting absolute future(considering his strong voice)..How illogical it's???😲

Actually this bandwagon set in any indian dramas..😆..I was expecting DABH CV's to enlighten this matter as well but alas Dil ke armaan aasuo main beh gaye..😭

I mean yes it's true one can predict "probable" future not "absolute" one. As we know that too many
energies constantly shift and change and influence the future for anyone to predict what is going to happen at a fixed point in the future.

In Hinduism, People often misinterpret between "sects" and "religion"..😕..If one ask which religion you follow , They'll answer I'm following Vaishanva or use any other sects.😆.

Some strange superstitious people follow in my region:-
1.)We can't cut nails on Saturday.. Why?
2.)We strictly have to wash hair on Saturday.. Why?
3.)People throw coin in the river whenever they passing over river bridge.. Why?
4.)If black cat come across while we for a good task then it will consider as an inauspicious event.. Why?

Anyway, lemme stop my blabbering here. It's never ending quests..😳.

Waise, Umdu Aunty..Sorry to pour out my thoughts here. I'm feeling lazy to create new thread... I'm grateful to you for this post..You know why because to represent my views on Brahmin I opened up Bhagwad Gita after almost 1 month or so.. I used to follow it in my mundane life but don't know why I stopped it.🤔..

UMDU ji wonderful post. You made me speechless. You should write in DKDM forum. Going out off topic. Bear with me, please. I've learnt that the discrimination and side-lining of women started by misinterpreting the following line from Manu Smriti.
pita rakshati kaumare
bharta rakshati youvane
putrau rakashati vardhakye
na stree swatantryam arhati.
It literally means a lady is to be protected by father in childhood, husband when in middle-age, son in her old-age and a lady is not allowed to be free.' These words only meant women should be protected every time, and the last line says she should never be left alone(swatantra) in any circumstances, not that she is restricted to enjoy her freedom (swatantrya). But the greedy & wicked ones simply bent this last line interpretting women are not allowed to be free in anyays & we have its result now.

I totally agree with every word you said. But I've a doubt regarding point 4. Wasn't that Sati who jumped into fire during Daksha Yaaga? Parvati is the re-incarnation of Sati. Am I right?

ami the four things you said in your last comment look a little awkward for me. Being from Kerala, I know how orthodox Hindus & Brahmins are here. As far as I know, Kerala Brahmins are considered as the top most all over for their Vaidika tradition, unlike the Aagama tradition of other Brahmins other than them. (tradition has its part, but that never discriminate between humans I think) But I've never seen them following such things. Here women do break coconuts. Without taking a headbath after smearing oil on head, no Hindu will go temples here. Saturday is not an exception. And same with cutting nails. No exceptions on saturdays. I guess it may have some connection to god Shani, who represents saturday in astrology. Also nobody throws coins in rivers here. About black cats, Tantrika texts say they are the vaahana (mount) of Dur Devatas (bad powers). So they are considered inauspicious. Its not the animal, the presence of Dur Devata which is not known to us is inauspicious, in fact, I think. Also they look scary for weak minded people. May that too is a reason. Who knows?🤓

@JAMi-- I second with you regarding to start misinterpret role of a woman. Even I thought about is so many times. Women always been shelter by man in various forms at every stage. That never allowed woman to explore her horizons as a result they decided to accept things n never raise their voice against injustice. Men are using their physical power to control women and so on!

ami, yeah those words only mean woman is not to be left alone, not that she is not to be allowed to enjoy freedom. But Traditions are Traditions. No one knows exactly for what they are made. We can arrive only on a rough idea

I just edited my 2nd point. It's actually we've to wash our hairs on saturday..

Waise, not only brahmins but every common people follow here.. I am not following any of them. Saturn influence???? Haawww? May be it's because saturday is hanuman's day????
