Back to the topic.
A parents job is to guide their children and to look at their best interest. To show them the right way without forcing them. In my opinion(and in many others although not everyones) Shashank has failed to do that. He took the decisions for Riddhima where he should have let her take her own decisions. To me it feels like he doesn't trust Riddhimas judgement. And now he also tells Armaan to save the SR marriage? What kind of parent is Shashank?

allright i agree he should'nt have asked Armaan to save SR marriage...but dint he ask sid too, to reunite AR, before the panchgani sequence

how could he have let riddhima take decisions at that time time..we all know how sane she was...trying to attempt suicide and all that jazz

and what else could he have done...let Riddhima weep all her life for Armaan and lead a life of solitude...

how was he know that Armaan would be magically cured and return back?

well i am just 18..so don't know much about parenting ,,,,but i'm sure any parent would want their child to move on from their distressing past and lead a happy life

One more thing. Thanks for saying 'aap' to me!

No worries.. I say "Aap" to every one elder to me. 😊

I second that. Even I'm 19... But I can tell that Parents always want their kids to be happy in future. They often take decisions which may be against our wishes and may seem wrong at that point of time. But are correct for our future.
As Mystic said, How was Shashank supposed to know that Armaan will come back? Moreover Armaan's impression on Shashank was too bad, which was Ofcource coz of Armaan n Riddhima's mutual acts. Their fault they never made a good impression, and so Shashank never liked Armaan.
Now obviously no parent will happily accept a boy whose impression is as bad as Armaan's.

So if parents try to think about their children and try to bring their life back on track, then they are selfish?😕

@mystic_dunes. Shashank shouldn't have got Riddhima married when she was at that state of mind. He should have helped Riddhima with her grieving, to help her heal her broken heart, to become sane and then support her when she was ready to move on. He should have been there for her not making decision for her.
I'm a parent but also someones daughter. I know the role of being a parent and I also know the role of being a daughter.

hey...shanky's own words before season 2 started...u are like a son to me..the son i never had...and what about the reaction when shanky saw armaan hale and hearty...his first reaction.....happiness and a warm happy hug....and u r point was...bad impression !!! shanky actually was insisting on setting a marriage date in season 1..when things went wrong..
and one more thing.....parents always in the end do things for their children's happiness...and samaj and all that nonsense should not be said or heard..right...
and another...the past was distressing..when armaan was gone...with him back...it is an answer to ridhima's prayers ...unfortunately due to circumstances she cannot acknowledge that is a different story

nope...but if they try to bring their life back on the track they think is right without even considering their children's wishes....a reality check might be required

As far as the topic is concerned... Shashank is doing what a father should and could and would do.
Whats done is done. Now he cannot see his child getting divorced.

divorce is not the be all and end all....happiness of an individual should count more ...i think.

Bad impression statement was for those who say, 'Shanky never liked Armaan...and so he's doing all "this" to him.'
Second, Shanky must have said about samaaj, but his ultimate goal is his Daughter's happiness, which is Sid. As she's married to him..falling in love with him.. trusting him completely. [My thoughts based on the particular episodes I had watched]
Dhanyawaad. [as in Thank You] 😊

i cant resist saying something here...i am a parent too...one thing about parenting at some stage u have to learn to let go and let them make their own mistakes...
i know my daughter is too good at math...but if she wants to go ahead with arts as her special subject..i would talk to her let her know my views and reasons...but in the end even in such a small thing i will respect her likes and dislikes...coz thats where her happiness lies....
