I was looking for this thread - thanks Minakshi for finding it. After how they showed Urmila on Friday - pointing her dagger at Lakshman, and almost ready to stab him had Rama & Sita not arrived, looks like they should indeed incorporate both Ravan-100 and Ravan-1000. Have Sita slay Ravan-100, and my earlier idea of Mahakali entering Urmila - top that by first slaying Ravan-1000 and then almost strangulate Lakshman until he promises to give Urmila her fair share of attention 😆

I'm glad they are shaping up Urmila appropriately. At some point, they should introduce Ravan-100 & Ravan-1000. Wonder whether Manish Wadhwa can be recalled for that role.

I've only now caught up on last week's updates. Did the serial show Rama and Sita actually going out on a date together? Before Urmilla's attack on Lakshman?

Were you around for Tardka the environ-mental activist? And did you catch Hanuman the curious - dedicated to tormenting any rishis who couldn't answer his simple questions, such as why does a trishul have 3 points? 😆

Rama & Sita had a unique date - they go out together, and he explains to her why maryada is all important and why she shouldn't have the right to choose her husband. He also was displeased at Lakshman being smitten by Urmila.

Maybe he was channelling the thoughts of viewers who were expecting something more authentic to be shown.

Wow... Treta Yuga was so advanced.

And to think how trouble much me and my husband (he was not my hubby then) had to take to sneak out and meet each other. 😉 No cell phones either, in those days.

If only this serial had been telecast then.. we would have had such an honourable example to quote.

Coming to the point. What names they recited in the show, were they real names or just some nonsense? Because it seemed nonsense to me.

And Janak didn't invite Ravan? What nonsense! Last week only Ravan was saying that Janak has invited him! And now this?😕

Well at least they didn't follow Ashok Banker's version of Ravan disguising as a prince - THAT would be a TOTAL disaster!

Varaali didn't mention whether they were underaged or not, so I assumed that they weren't. 😆 Of course, Rama's & Sita's ages in this is a thorny issue in its own right.

Yeah, the abduction - they'd need a way around that, but if a person is not missing for an extended period of time, I would guess it wouldn't be called an abduction.

The names in the serial did sound bad, but Banasura - a real character - was complete bakwas. I described Banasura's history in the D&D thread, and why Mahadev's description of him was a total crock. He predicted that he would be slain by Vishnu in his next avatar.
