What are they expecting?

Hello Everyone!

I just recently started watching DEK and one of my biggest issues with the show is Manyata's royal family - what are they expecting? They want Monia to transform into Manyata, but they haven't taken any proactive steps to make the transformation happen.

The biggest issue is that Monia is having a hard time accepting the truth and understanding the royal lifestyle. This could've easily been remedied by:

- Showing her childhood pictures to make her believe that she is indeed Manyata.
- Having Unnati give her "lessons" on proper etiquette and appropriate behavior for a Rajkumari.
- Having J teach her about the family lifestyle, which could've allowed the sisters to bond in a positive way and made J feel important as well.
- Letting her interact individually with family members to bridge the gap of sixteen years.

All they've done is lock her up, which has only served to make Monia even more rebellious.

Today, DS sentenced her to her room until she learns how to behave "properly". But the problem is that Monia does not know how to be a royal (although she is OTT for normal people behavior too, in my opinion). How is cutting contact from her new world now, let alone her old world before, going to help anything?

Looking forward to some feedback 😊

Best,
Smarty

Exactly my thoughts! I was also thinking the first 2 suggestions you had, the last two seen to far-fetched because everyone is not willing to help her, they just want Manyata to quickly live up to their standards. To bow down to them. The only one that can get through her thick skull is her mom but all Komal wants to do is spoil her because she hasn't been able to for the past 16 years. I thought Daadi Saab would help her and talk to her but Daadi Saab is stooping half way to Manyata's stubborness. Locking her up again would just make Manyata more stubborn and angry. In yesterday's precap, they showed Komal trying to talk to Manyata but as always, Manyata was being stubborn. Isn't their a limit to stubborness? CVs make Manyata look so bad. Like a spoiled 3 year old brat.

Sorry for my ranting, just getting tired of repeating myself about Manyata's behavior...

i agree!!!

But the problem was M was in no position to listen to any1 let alone explain her abt her childhood. The main hindrance was Murari and after DS got that matter sorted out once for all...then came the Akash issue...UV resolved it for the time being!
Komal could have taken the lead in connecting with her daughter..showing her old pictures, her toys..clothes etc...the only way to win Manyata is emotional atyachar!
I am wondering why haven't they done a DNA test to confirm she is the missing princess!!
I want UV to bring up the mark incident he left on M's back when playing with plastic sword!

Hmm.. but all the steps you mentioned requires her cooperation or else they are of no use. And the big issue is that Manyata is unwilling to cooperate. All they are trying to do right now is make her comfortable to the environment first. Like what Dadi saheb said, they have to let her win her small little wars then only they can think about the big picture, then only she will start accepting her identity. And, its not like they've not done anything. Unnati did speak to Manyata about being a princess; she did explain to her that for the royals, their family, their prestige is everything. She has interacted with family members like Komal, J, Vijay etc. As for the rest like Brijraj, they're not even interested. All they do is make fun of her.
It takes 2 hands to clap. So, both sides will have to make the effort.

I think Manyata needs to also cooperate when DS, her mother, and Brijraj ask her to do something. It's a two-way street! 😊

Although it takes two to tango (Monia needs to show some initiative as well), the family does need to be more supportive. I really did think they would be more proactive in winning back their daughter. I'm hoping after Giriraj's little talk on Friday, Brijraj will soften up towards Monia.

I hear you Kajpreet, the CVs are making Monia way too stubborn...I really don't see a difference between J and Monia, both are just as bratty - I guess they are sisters after all!

@Bold - You would think that would be the logical thing to do considering how modern they behave...but alas, that common sense and practicality is too much to ask for from an Indian TV show.

And I hope Uday brings up the sword mark as well! It will give ManVeer something to bond over and hopefully help Manyata recall some of her childhood memories (which I'm so surprised she has none of apparently)!

You are right that Monia is not cooperating and DS is trying to make her more comfortable, but locking her up is obviously not working in achieving that. And the only positive interaction she has had is with Komal...her interactions with J and Vijaybhai haven't helped change her mind whatsoever. I agree, everyone else taunts her...which is why I was saying that the family needs to be more proactive.

I agree the CVs are overdoing Monia's character. I think she is all over the place...she is too much of an extreme to be realistic. I really thought she would turn a new leaf after the whole safe situation and DS having to save her from being branded a thief, but no affection from her side for the woman who sleeps with a picture of her what so ever 😕 I think the only way to make Monia understand is have her parents and Uday talk to her about her childhood and give her so much proof that there is nothing else to do but believe in her new fairytale life.

I completely agree that Monia needs to cooperate as well...but the problem is that she isn't so the family has to take a more proactive stance to gain her trust.

@Bold - I agree! All they are doing is telling her to change, but not equipping her with the tools to make the change happen.
