people in the replies already explained the situation .. if someone’s to be blamed it’s the indian govt , they are playing politics even during the pandemic .. they legit gave 60 million vaccines to other countries cos M*di wanted praises and in that the govt didn’t even think about their own citizens .. the fact is current govt doesn’t care what happens to us

Biden is doing what a GOOD president and leader should do. Take care of their own people first. The US was one of the harshest hit countries and has so many citizens still left to vaccinate. Once majority of US is vaccinated, then we can look at lending help to the rest of the world. When New York and then Cali were hit with waves, they were left of fend for themselves right? Thanks to Biden and his promise of amping up vaccinations, California now has some of the lowest Covid rates in the country. I'm proud of Biden

It’s come at the worst timing for India, but India will get through this.

We have a government, which would not bootlick US like it’s predecessors but will build its own resources.

The American President last year requested India for HCQ and India obliged, without impacting its own ppl.

Having said this US is no longer a world Leader or super power anymore. Atleast it’s not behaving like one in this time of crisis.

I'd agree with most of this except neither NY nor CA was left to fend for itself. NY had a giant hospital ship sent to it and a field hosp constructed at Jacob Javitz Center. Unfortunately, Cuomo was more concerned about looking presidential for 2024/2028 and paid little attention to emerging facts; he sent covid positive seniors back to nursing homes. 50% of NY's covid deaths have now been revealed to be nursing home-related. If he had sent those patients to the hospital ship or to JJ Center (which remained nearly empty), those numbers would likely have been reduced by 90%.

Newsome was a lot better. Sure, he also trash-talked Trump, but he more or less followed whatever scientic evidence there was at the time and took all the support from federal government unlike Cuomo who was busy playing Comedy Circus with his brother on CNN.

India will get through this 🙏🏻

Yeah, you might try asking that same government why it didn't bother asking to test any of the RNA vaccines in India since mid 2020 when they were being trialed around the world.

Why the bridging trials are only being done NOW?

Why no idemnification?

Why the money to Serum Institute to amp up production is happening only NOW? It's been a year since they started developing. Weren't the leaders aware that 1.3 billion people need to be vaccinated?

Why Serum Institute, which supplies 60% of the WORLD'S vaccines, promised to deliver 1.1 billion doses by May and grossly underperformed?

Why 60 million plus doses were sent out when so many Indians remained to be vaccinated?

Why the approval process for cheaper and more effective vaccines is taking so long?

This thing practically screams corruption at the expense of lives of Indians. Everyone should be talking about it and demanding action.

Instead, people are playing political games even in the face of death. As long as citizens do not demand change and are content being ginned up by fake national pride, the elite will not change.
