I am still of the opinion in responce to Tanaz's question that it might be the circumstances that lead people to act evil... I somehow have this image that you might expect some good in an evil man... i mean that in the most evil person there must be a good thought, a good act [some sort of goodness in some way]... even if a small one. We might take it this way that people are never whole evil... but they might be less Good... in this manner we might be able to see positive light in a dark tunnel. I hope i made some sense 😕

Ambition is mostly considered as the driving force of getting "Into" Evil. Does that mean being ambitious is wrong? I don't think so! There are different factors that lead the actions of a person... the problem is that we haven't been able to anticipate the consequences of our actions properly.. we see only a limited vision e.g. By doing something we will get a certain tangible thing. But we don't realize that its a whole package that will come along.

One example I can think of is Cathy Ames from East of Eden. She was a fictional character who used other people to suit her own needs from a very young age. But, she had a normal childhood with loving parents. No abuse or anything. The narrator says that sometimes "monsters are born" and that Cathy was a monster.

Nowadays, whenever we find serial killers, there are stories about their abusive parents or the rough neighbourhoods they were born in. The circumstances are blamed.

In reality, does upbringing play any role in good or evil? Or is good and evil something inherent and emerges on its own regardless of upbringing?

I don't beleive in categorizing people as good people and bad people.Studying people is one of my interests.I like to analyse to people.I don't beleive that people are born bad or born good.Definitely their upbringing has something to do with their acts to certain level,only to certain level but it defintely has good impact on the person.But circumstances change people and circumstances rise because of their previous Karma.So ultimately the villan is our previous karma.So elders ask us to do good deeds so that we may have good birth or good life in next birth or if we try to do much much good deeds we will not have rebirth at all.This is one theoritical concept of mine.

On the otherside , Practically speaking!! No person is really good or really bad.I'm not saying about international terrorits I'm speaking about common janta like me.We need to have patience in understanding people.A person who seems to be crazy,indecent may be a good ,wise person.At the same time a person who seems to be soft may be a crazy ,bad person actually.It just depends how we interact with the other person,how much patience we have in understanding a person(provided if the other person really creates interest in us).

TAXI 9211 is really good film in recent times which depicts human psycology!!

About Satan/Devil/Rakshash, that too is a manifestation of God. Evil is not absence of God. It is prsence of God in a different form - for the purpose of destruction and regeneration.

Why? Because it is the will of God. He plays His own game in His own way. We are mere puppets in His hand and do His bidding.

What am trying to say is that.....Human made different named god's and religion, I believe there is one power control the whole universe, God live in each persons mind, if you miss, you will try to do bad things...Day and night model good and bad things always there.....

I don't think people are born evil. It's all the circumstances/the exposure and how he/she reacts to things. Agreed some reactions/behaviour like getting angry very soon/being aggressive can be inherited, but violence/evilness is acquired later on in life!

yes ....god exists and so does evil... 😊
everything around us including us is made up of two forces...one positive and the other negative..
each and everything...because a perfect balance between the two is essential to establsh the importance of life.
As there is no status of day without the night and vice versa(as believe said)...in a similar way there is no importance of god without the presence of evil... 😊 so everything in its simpler form is equal to god and everything in its complex form is equal to evil.

yes there are good and bad at the same time like in a movie there a hero that gets happiness and n the villan can't handle the happiness so he has to ruin in some way that's how god is he thinks for our best but there is some force or something that doesn't agree with god on this so that's why he's going against god i don't know but that's what i believe in................... 😃 😃

i believe neither exists people just want to put their worries onto somebody and rationalize their misfortunes - so Gods exist... they want to have other people fear God and behave according to their laid-down rules so Satan/Devil exists...
