He seems to have implemented many welfare schemes in Assam notably where he identified and deported many illegal bangladeshis but his miyan attack everyday, seems to be much below the belt for his position..

I hate Congress and don't want BJP going in the same direction hence I'm still hoping BJP does it's course correction. But unless BJP gets a wake up call it won't see any need for course correction.

Karnataka wanted to give a wakeup call to BJP.

So it chose Congress. So the avg kannadiga who was pleasantly surprised to see smooth functioning govt departments under BJP rule is back to paying bribes for getting smallest of work done at the same place in same department.

I was also worried about reservations etc not long ago. But with first hand experience..I would say getting admission in a course of ur choice in a good college is easier than getting a driving license. There are numerous institutions. So many seats. Number of IITs have also increased. People may say brand IIT is getting diluted but thats not the case. Every year there r approximately 15L JEE aspirants. Out of them more than 1L appear for advanced level..aspiring for IITs. Its obviously not possible to fulfill everyone’s dream. But be it IIT or non IIT..there r enough seats out there for people who want to study.

This is only about engg..same with medical, law or any other field

We are doomed either way. However, i don't think there are special rates of bribes for GC vs peedit shoshit vanchit in Karnataka. Sabko barabari se loota ja raha hoga, na ki uski Jaat dekh kar ...

Supporting a party not because of its work but because the alternatives are even worse is a very wrong reason in itself to support a party. BJP is using this scaremongering very well to stay in power. Unless BJP is given a reason to improve it won't improve. If for that it means taking a step back and suffering for a while then I'm ready for that too. Maybe BJP will do course correction or maybe a new party will emerge but if it needs some years of sacrifice & suffering then so be it.

Waise bhi jispe vishwas kiya ho (BJP) uske dkhoke se zyada bura lagta hai in comparison to the one jisse koi ummed hi nahi ho (Congress).

P.s. - what a coincidence. This video just came on my timeline and addresses the most common argument of - Congress aa gayi to aur bura hoga...

Till the last few days I was still undecided but some of BJP's action including censoring voices of dissent on sm and increasing reservations in Odisha, despite protests from GC, has really helped me make up my mind.

My final take is - I want Himanta and Yogi ji to win in their respective states not because they are from BJP but despite being from BJP. Rest all states i don't care whether BJP wins or loses. Waise bhi now BJP is only keeping a puppet CM (whose previous work no one knows about) in whichever state it wins.

I am saying exactly that. I support BJP for its good work. Not bcoz the alternative is bad. Its n added bonus.

I can see the work on ground. The changes in infra where BJP is in power. the sluggish work and corruption where it isn’t. The number of higher edu seats increased over the country. Medical facilities, health benefits given to the needy
and whatever it has achieved is despite the level of corruption seeped deep inside the country’s mentality..the babus want money and the public want the fast n easy way out by paying money. The only thing that keeps them away from it is vigilance by govt..which happens under BJP. The hapless few who don’t want to give in don’t have a choice but to run from pillar to post.

If I can blame BJP for anything it has to be for bad PR of their accomplishments and not countering the barks n attacks.
I see the work..rest all is noise. And I have learned to cut down the noise and keep my eyes n mind open.

Then i guess we will have to continue with our differences regarding BJP.

I've seen the congress era too and although i do agree few things have improved, many still remain the same or have actually worsened like Fssai and issues of food security. I have stopped eating fruits altogether after falling ill multiple times upon eating fruits like watermelon, mango and even banana. Packaged foods and their misinformation is another story. Corruption in electricity department is the same based on my personal experience with meter changes 2 times. I had to run multiple times in the office because my file disappeared cos of non payment of suvidha shulk (bribe). This being in BJP raaj too. The real benefits of improvement have occured only due to digitization of processes that previously required human intervention. Rest all is same.

I personally know of government school teachers who go to school only once a week or when they get an information of someone coming to check. Plus the food stuff meant for children is also divided amongst the staff.

As for getting a driving license the process is much easier if u r ready to spend a few extra bucks. I have two experiences to talk about. First when i lost my DL and had to get a replacement. The process of FIR, affidavit etc. were too cumbersome and time taking so i gave a few extra bucks to an agent and the new DL was delivered by post to my home in about 7-15 days. Easy peasy. Same with renewal of license which required health certificate from a registered doctor, amongst other things. That too was processed like a breeze with me needing to go to the counter just once, due to paying an agent. Mind you I did try to do it the proper way first before trying the easy way out but it was too cumbersome. Where is the vigilance u r talking about? I have learnt to live with corruption but I don't think I'll be able to live with forever increasing caste based discrimination.

Getting admission in my favourite course, let alone my favourite college, is an experience that's a totally different sob story both for me as well as my acquaintance's childrens too. So i disagree with your argument about getting admission in favourite college being easier than getting a DL.

For countering the attacks BJP is crushing the FOE and voices of dissent, from not letting them protest peacefully to getting their posts and channels taken down. What more dictatorship do you want from BJP?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on supporting BJP issue from now on... Cos I can't compromise with the party i had so much expectations from. It either needs to improve or a new party needs to emerge... Cos no hopes from other parties either...

And I'm ready to suffer & sacrifice for sometime to bring this change.
