Both teams going spin heavy and that's the reason Haris Rauf does not find a place in Pakistan's XI. Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem both are playing, leaving Faheem Ashraf as the only other pacer. It might be because it is a used pitch and spin played a key role as India's Kuldeep Yadav run riot against UAE. Oman have a couple of debutants - Shah Faisal and Zikria Islam.

Slightly surprising that Pakistan have opted to bat first (or that Oman would have batted first too had they won the toss), but this does give their batting unit a chance to get some time out in the middle. They have been clear in recent months on how they want to approach the batting leg of T20Is, and it will be interesting to see if they continue with that tack tonight.

Pakistan have opted to be more aggressive with the bat, meaning the need for increased muscle through the middle order has never been greater.

This looked very, very adjacent, and Ayub could be in trouble if he has not hit it.
