Young got off to a start but couldn't convert it into something substantial as he fell to Ngidi. Rachin looked in good flow from the word-go and kept manipulating the field with his strokeplay. Williamson was jittery to begin with but once he settled down, he came into his own usual self. The duo mixed caution with aggression to perfection and ensured that the runs kept coming at a good clip. Both not only raised their respective fifties but ensured that they converted them into centuries. Both fell against the run of play but ensured that they did a fine job.
