Dhoni was a blatant glorification of the man in question, as if he had no vices, no errors in judgement, no mistakes. Sanju doesn't cover the mistakes or vices. In fact, the vices are put out there in the open quite well, but at the end it seems that he's portrayed to be the innocent guy who was trapped into things by other people and due to circumstances.
