aah see the ground rule is that the historicals running ATM are all almost as good as fictional products.. its 80% fiction and 20% history - and that 20% comprises of getting the names and relationships between the characters right - thats about it😆 there is saas-bahu, there are love triangles/quadrangles, there are fake wars..and there is whitewashing done. The material shown there cannot and definitely should not be taken seriously - and least of all, I do pity if school students are adviced to watch this, and its not like people dont revolt against messing with historyy, there were petitions filed in the past for JA and MP both...by the rajputs, but at the end of the day, its all a trp generating system...the PHs and channels are way too powerful so it all gets quashed...
personally I watch it for the same reason as u Uma, atleast by that manner, Ill go back to reading what was the real story, I had no clue about the greatness of MP, apart from his story with chetak till I began watching that show...there is much more to that man, which ofcoz is not there in the show, but even if his name is brought to limelight by way of these shows, I personally will want to know more about the real him...atleast as far as I know, the people of rajasthan literally worship him and there are many folklores around him...which must be known..I wish our history books threw light on such rulers too, coz there is a lot thats available about mughals, but very less about the people who really stood up to fight for their own, when nobody did...and one cant rely on a victor's book like akbarnama...it will only be a glorified version...
same goes for ashoka, watching the show solely coz atleast when people will say its distorted, the real facts will also come out in the forum or on social media sites...the forum has just begun, still there are some members who are archaeology students and all...have been researching on mauryan age for past 5 years, so they do update us, on the facts and findings...try roopsha's posts...RHC ones- she has the most reliable info on mauryan age...
