See...load the video in movie maker...and then select the start of the GIF. Click split on the time from where u want the avi to start. Now play the video, and stop at the point u want your gif to end. Click split again. Now, delete the video portion before the split symbol of the start point, and after the end point. Only the split portion will remain, now, save it as (.mp4) or if it saves as .avi, then convert it into MP4.

Now open Photoshop, File> Import > Video Frames into layers

Now, a blank window will appear...go to the location where u have saved the clip...and type the FULL NAME of the clip...with the extension.

Eg. Barun.MP4

Click Load, the video will load...now reduce the size add colors and etc! Save it!
