Hmmmm.... should I whine that nothing was done with the pics yet... or should I just keep posting more 😆 Here's the rest of the VD wedding ones, some from before the Akashwani and some cute moments they have after... why didn't I do them in order, all at once 😕 And might be some doubles... it happens whenever imgshack does this many at once... sowwie 😒

Jai Shri Krishna to all members. Sorry I am posting after a long time but tracking all the brilliant stuffs. Actually I wanted to post when I could gather in mind some substantial additional material about DOTW before I posted anything else and also had connection problems too often. I just had to let everyone know that Gunia is not able to come online due to illness for quite a bit of days now. She wanted the members to know about the reason of not being able to post these days.

DOTW on husband wife relationship - here I post finally at least something.😃

Your specific question about conflicting duties of a wife cum mother. There are two incidents in mind (and both were very clearly, explicitly and strongly shown with emphasis by RS).

(1) One is when Ram says to Kaushalya before leaving for vanvaas. "Pehele nath, baad me santaan. Patni dharm maatru dharm se bada hai."

(2) Similar is the situation faced by Devaki when Kans tied Vasudev over the well of snakes and then Devaki explains Akrur about her situation. "Yadi wo Bhagwan hai, to hame uski suraksha karne ki koi aavashyakataa nahi. Aur yadi wo bhagwan nahi, to yadi aisi sthiti me jab mujhe pati aur putra me se ek ka balidaan karnaa padaa, to maine putra ko chunaa."

These two scenes very clearly point out the issue of moral dilemma and prioritized duty of a married woman. She is first the wife (because both husband wife share the merit and sin and they contribute to each others' virtues, vices and spiritual journey of soul - "Aapke pati hi aapki gati hai".). Mother has to go with the husband because for the son, there is already a specific person made by shaastra for that very purpose - his wife (i.e. daughter in law of the woman). I am sure we will get so many movie examples also from the bollywood to relate our mytho characters with modern day social thinking (For example, Baaghbaan, Sooryavansham, Shakti, Goal).

Husband wife ki relationship aur aapas me duties ke baare me to aur koi debate ka scope hi nahi ab meri ore se. Sab logon ne sab kuchh keh diya hai. Gunia and Lalita both have explained it so well. Both husband-wife should be equally caring for each other (Vasudev-Devaki) enjoying equal status & friends of each other (Ram-Sita suhaagraat scene) and for me, the marriage relationship is nothing other than the means to strengthen the spiritual journey by increasing the speed of spiritual upliftment through mutual neutralizing/balancing/negating the vices and virtues of each other. Mandodari was ideal wife and did her best to fulfill her duty as far as she could to give her virtuous thoughts to her husband. But unfortunately her husband's vices were too much overweighted that it got imbalanced and she had to suffer due to the sins of Ravan only unfortunately due to her attachment with her husband. And she knows the dharma very well. She also knows politics very well and tries to apply all the possible smart tactics to change Ravan but unfortunately for her, all goes futile (May not be futile for her spiritual upliftment because she followed her karmyog - success in efforts doesn't matter). Haan, agar Mandodari Meerabai jaisi bhakt hoti to apne pati ko badalne ki koshish nahi karti aur apni hi bhakti me mast reheti. Husband and wife are the two wheels of the chariot of spiritual life. If any of the wheels are not efficient, then marriage life loses its real essence or definition of spiritual upliftment tool and due to that inefficient other wheel, marriage becomes a burden for a devotee. Haan ye baat aur hai ki Mandodari ek dharmapriya sati thi parantu utni badi bhakt nahi thi Vibhishan/Meerabai jaisi. But the fact that she couldn't change the fortune and ego and thoughts of Ravan is very pitiable. Mandodari vs Meerabai - how is this comparison about approaches? May be too much strange comparison? Is it?

I am fine, thanks for asking.😊 How are you? And no problem, I always enjoy your posts whether in this thread or the MB CC. Yes, I know about flashykush, he told me he lives in a hostel so therefore cannot access the computer often, do miss him too.
