Some forums on IF have got some of most ridiculous rules I've ever seen on any board.

No comparisons allowed - I can't stand this one! It's so frickin' annoying. What's wrong if you compare CHARACTERS from a show? Isn't that what forums are meant for? But no, it might break a few fragile little hearts into a million pieces. So folks, better keep the place peaceful and serene. WTF? My favourite argument is 'They are both good in their own ways. So let's not compare.' Er, say what? If there are grounds for comparison, then why not? I mean sure, you can't compare a singer to an actor or a writer to a painter, but you can compare two soap actors or characters, can't you? Lord.

No bashing allowed - I simply HATE, LOATHE, DESPISE and ABHOR this rule. I don't know where to begin with its drawbacks. One, a general "forum" refers to a place where you discuss something. And when you discuss a show, it means you talk about the good, the bad and the ugly. No bashing wouldn't classify as DISCUSSING the show. It would classify as PRAISING it. There's a world of difference between the two words. There are fan clubs for praising something. Open them up and stick to your little appreciation threads or whatever if you are faint-hearted. Ignore the haters if you can't handle their comments. Everything and everyone from celebrities to politicians to religions to races are bashed all over the internet. Why does the sensitivity come into play for these do takke ke ghatiya fictional couples? I'd understand if the issue here was racism or perhaps bashing a real person. But please, just because someone can't stand your character/couple doesn't mean the world has come to an end. So stop whining about the negativity and the "ruthless" bashing that hurts you. *rolls eyes*

Discussing an actor's personal life isn't allowed - LMFAO! Oh man, excuse me as I spend the next ten minutes laughing my butt off. Is this rule for real? If the entire world adopted this policy, all the people working for the media and tabloids would become bhikaris. Gossip, controversies and false allegations come with the package when you sign up to be a celebrity. The entire world discusses the personal lives of celebrities. Everywhere you go, from Facebook to Youtube to Twitter to Myspace - celebs are discussed to death and each detail about their personal lives is dissected to bits. There are rabid fan-wars taking place every second on the net over one celebrity or the other. So what makes the prestigious INDIA FORUMS so special? Oh and speaking of IF, their hypocrisy astounds me - discussing movie actors in the Bollywood section is fine, but OMG the poor soap actors are out of limits! Whatever.

The three rules I mentioned above are completely UNNECESSARY and make life on IF less enjoyable. If only people weren't so oversensitive around here! This place could take a lesson or two from YouTube. That place has no rules and no restraints. Yet somehow, the discussions there are better than the ones I've seen on IF. 🤔

Sarah, Nimrah....i agree... even if these old shows were before 'our' time, they still apeal to us...i can alwayyss watch Ankahee, Tanhaiyaan and Dhoop Kinaare...My three most fav Pakistani drama....Geo and ARY should b banned for dishing out the current crap. They are just copying Indian soaps...specially K soaps.....Thankfully Hum has been different from these channels from the beginning...actually Moomal production (Hum channel belongs to them) has always given the best of the dramas in recent times even when they were associated with PTV. They have got gems like Mehreen Jabbar and Babar Javed as directors in their pockets...Every desi soap actor wants to work with them...Then the recent trend of getting some really GOOOOOD novel writers to write story/scripts for them has made them the BEST channel for Drama....

Nimrah....I m watching Malal.. just for Umera Ahmed..she is right now the Best Urdu writers according to me..And the Only Urdu writers whose books i read.....i think u should watch it to get the story but i m warning u..u might not like it....it's a serious drama...with some mature well sketched characters.....its Umera so it might have some unexpected turns in the story and probably would not get a 'happy' end.....or may b not even a 'sad' end.....but i can guaranty a strong story, strong characters, excellent dialogues, great subtle locations, no heavy make-up and may b a few tears....lol...

and if u ppl want to watch any good Pakistani Drama online....i have a few recommendation that u could watch on Youtube....

P.S...Nimrah...Norpur Ki Rani was OK..... i didn't like it much.....i watched some epis....though my mother loved it.....
