HAPPY MAKAR SANKRANTI AKA PONGAL!!

Folks,

I have resurfaced - always presuming that you had all noticed that I was not around!😉 - to wish you all a very happy Makar Sankranti today, or as we say down South, an auspicious Pongal! May today herald a year ahead that brings you, and all your loved ones, nothing but good.

I spared you any of my periodic effusions for the past 2 weeks as I was not in a position to do one of them. Even had I been able to cope, the material was most dispiriting, bar a few flashes, and a truly lovely opening between our lead pair was squandered to no purpose. Anyhow, after having survived this last week - in which Rajat's Chandra was slumming for the most part, and Shweta's Nandini moved emphatically in the opposite direction - I am keeping my fingers crossed for something better ahead.

Here is my (hopeful!) prediction for the next week.

Chandra, riddled by guilt, will now go looking for Nandini. The precap itself should have put paid to the hopeful theory that he drives her out deliberately hoping that she will lead him to Nand. It is no such thing.

To revert, Nandini, even though she is not weighed down by anything as substantial as Jodha Begum's bronze Kanha😉, would have collapsed artistically under the load of her grief, somewhere outside the palace, still hugging that potli. I would like to know what is inside it.😉

Chandra will miraculously spot her despite having no idea in which direction she has wandered off.😉He will then lug her back to the palace in his patented style, in his arms. He must be a tad out of practice, not having had to do that for days now, not since the exam days at the gurukul in Takshashila, so it will do him some good to get back into carrying form!😆

Next, he will start hanging around her rooms monitoring her recovery while Helena damages her tooth enamel.😉

OK, folks this is it for now, bar two points.

1) Of course there is a Roopa. She is the one with Sunanda in the secret room. Don't even ask how Sunanda togs her out as a duplicate of Nandini, down to the clothes and the jewellery, on a daily basis! Aise prashna uthana varjit hai!😉

2) Those trying to look into the crystal ball and spot an ultra clever tedi chaal on the part of our C&C are, I fear, doomed to disappointment. Both are, I feel, just as gullible as they appear to be. But if it turns out that I am wrong here, nothing would please me more!

As for Chandra's main aim at present, to make Nandini jealous of Helena, what earthly sense does that make when he also clings to the belief that Nandini loves Malayaketu? If that is so, why would she care whom Chandra hangs around with? It is plain nuts, and it makes Chandra look extra foolish, while poor Rajat seems to be risking a case of lockjaw with all that snarling.

And no, I do not feel Chandra has any notion of Helena's convoluted plotting against Nandini. For one thing, she does it rather well, thru clever insinuations that leave an opening for subsequent denials, as in the case of the room allocation, and she is helped by Durdhara's failure to mention the one key point to Chandra, ie that the whole mukut idea was hers.

As for royals making such gifts for their close relatives, instead of commissioning them, that would have depended on the item, and I would think that for things that could have been made inhouse, so to speak, doing it themselves would have been normal, even if the actual sewing and shaping was done by the daasis!

YAAY AUNTY

WELCOME BACK. HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY PONGAL TO YOU!!! I'M TELEPATHICALLY TRYING TO SEND YOU SOME AWESOME CHAKKARAI PONGAL THAT MY MOM MADE AND SENT TODAY 😉

I HOPE YOUR RA IS WITHIN CONTROLLED LIMITS AND I ALSO HOPE IT GETS BETTER SOON

I KNOW THAT LAMENTING ABOUT THE SHOW IS NOT ALLOWED, BUT I REALLY WANT TO CRY OUT ALOUD AT THE GOINGS ON 😡. THE GURUKUL DUAL SNANKAKSH EPISODE WAS THE LAST THAT I SAW BEFORE MY TRIP AND WHEN I CAME BACK 😡 HELL SEEMS TO HAVE DESCENDED

HELENA CHANDRA FIRST NIGHT DRAMA WAS SO GROSS, AS WAS HER SELF INFLICTION OF THE KHARONCH 😡 I DID ENJOY THE THAPPAD THAT NANDINI LOOKALIKE STRUCK HER WITH, BUT IT WAS TOO LITTLE AND TOO SHORT LIVED

OF COURSE THE MALAYKETU BDAY GIFT FIASCO WAS JUST TOO UNIMAGINABLE LEAVING US WONDERING WHY THE HELL NANDINI OR DURDHARA NEVER SPOKE UP TO CLARIFY

CHANDRA AND NANDINI ARE JUST ANGRY WHEN THEY ARE WITH EACH OTHER, AND OTHERWISE THEY BEHAVE LIKE ZOMBIES. THE ENTIRE KAAYNAAT SEEMS TO AGAINST THEM. EACH ACTION AND EACH DIALOGUE SEEMS TO DEEPEN THEIR MISUNDERSTANDING 😡OF COURSE, ROOPA IS ADDING TO THE CONFUSION BY APPEARING ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE

I AM QUITE GLAD THAT NANDINI IS FALLING IN LOVE WITH CHANDRA, AND I KNOW THAT WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT EONS FOR BOTH OF THEM TO REALIZE AND ACCEPT, BUT ALL THIS HELENA, ROOPA, MALAY, SUNANDA HOCUS POCUS IS QUITE TOUGH TO ENDURE

AND ACHARYA JI CANING HIS STUDENT AND COMMENTING ON HIS LOVE LIFE WAS TOO MUCH 😡

I TOO FEEL THAT THE TEDHA CHANDRA PROPOSITION (LOVELY, THOUGH IT MIGHT SEEM) IS NOT WORTH PURSUING AT ALL

I JUST HOPE THINGS LOOK UP AND IMPROVE FAST

DO TAKE CARE AUNTY

Aunty, wish you a very happy Pongal. I am truly very happy to see you back. It was a real treat reading your predictions. The previous week was somewhat of a disappointment for me. But especially the last episode just made me want to head to the nearest wall and bang my head to it. I am not expecting anything fantastic, spectacular or theda out of the C&C combine. I got my fingers burned the previous time I tried it. I am just hoping, Chandra spots out the Roopa subterfuge first. I would give him a few brownie points for that. This Malayketu jealousy was dragged and dragged pointlessly and also meaninglessly.

Lavanya and all others - My viewpoints on the show is now somewhat different.

Agreed - This jealousy track is very boring and many crass dialogues were shown. I think the serial needs TRP increase and it has also recorded some improvement thanks to this J track and vamp-heroine.

I am recording some points here.

SBP has shown tremendous improvement - But even now, when she has to cry more or openly, she falls flat - Understatedness is her strength and she shines in that brightly. See the scene she is walking out of palace with her blue potli . She begins to look ordinary unless the scenes where she speaks to Chandra in watery eyes.

Chandra and Nandini keep piercing each other's heart with abusive words - Most times it does not have logic. If Chandra says "I do not leave Helena but you" and she says "I do not like Malay but you " , it will be pretty much over for us and Balaji. 😆 So some forced events are happening. But the actors are pulling off well. Especially the Lead pair.

Remember in JA our rants on Lohri, Lep and Lap. Thankfully here the love story is evenly poised and placed. Nandini longs for Chandra and she also feels J. 😉 A great relief.

I loved the scene between Mura and Nandini - When she explained why she came off from party so soon, she was so sincere, naive and a honest sweet girl who could not stand that husband is ignoring her. Sweta shone in that scene. ( By the way, I am upgrading JOKEMATA to MATA as Mura has some good qualities, I discovered last week). 😆

Helena character is highly compromised but the actor is truly fantastic in her scenes. She is very nuanced in her performances.

I would have preferred a MU where someone mis-informs Chandra that Nandini is sending messages to her father through spies and planning something etc. This would have been a bit interesting than Kitchen politics stuff.

My only worry is no politics and no more territory acquisition etc.

Otherwise, compared to the perennial DEVI MA Pooja elsewhere we witnessed, here we are in for a promising love story ; Let's enjoy the good scenes.

Sri, I agree with you on the point that here there is a love story in the wings, albeit a bit twisted one, but it is there, unlike JA where I wasn't able to see much of one. The actors are doing very well, Sweta especially in the ones she just speaks with her eyes. All that is brilliant stuff. Moora Mata upgraded herself just like you said. But I expect more intelligence from C&C. And that is precisely lacking. The villains and vamps weave circles and circles around them and they fall for it????? Which King sends out his Queen in the night like that? But then the saving grace was Chandra having second and third thoughts about the hare-brained scheme! Now I definitely want some Jungle Main Mangal scenes between Chandra and Nandini for one full week to compensate for this lack luster week. Can the two just get lost in the jungle?

That scene between chandra and nandani a heart piercing when she said its such an insult being your wife that hurt him so badly maybe chandra isseeing everything yet not seeing anything just hoping he maybe playing and testing her
In every relationship trust faith is needed but cn story is diffirent both are enemies so trusting each other and believe in each other is no no as jayaji said nand angle would have made sesnse than this j track which has no head nor foot
