You guys are right. This is what irritates me the most. Why should love be the motivating factor for all the historical icons?? Is it necessary that whatever they did had to be done for love?? Romance is a necessary element in every story but it does not have to be the basis of a story.Otherwise what is the difference between a historical and a love story??
In JA,it was Jodha who made Akbar the Emperor he was.In MP,Haldighati battle happened because MP's wife Ajabde was killed. And in CAS,we know what happened. Now CN will do the same thing.Nandini will get all the credit.Weren't all these historical icons capable of doing things on their own?? Their spouses were a part of their life. But their life did not revolve around their spouses.I remember two historicals which I love. One is Prithviraj Chauhan and the other one is the first CGM.I don't intend to compare. But these shows were better in their presentation of romance.PRC in its early stage mainly focussed on the Prithvi-Sanyo romance but but Sanyogita did not have to do everything for Prithvi. And in CGM they did introduce a romantic angle but it did not hamper the main storyline.
Well Indian TV literally took this line seriously that behind every succsessful man there is a woman and to show that woman in the limelight they can make trash of a good show ... All these great rulers like Ashoka , ChandraGupta,Vikramaditya,Illtutmish etc etc dint became great bcz at the end moment their lovers enligtened them to win , they won and became great rulers bcz of their ambitious nature, tactfull skills and hardwork and bravery ... Well Ashi this has been a long tradition when it comes to Indian Shows that somehow all the credit has to be given to the heroine . You look every show and you will find that hero acts as a dumb so that heroine can act smart and make hero realise that he is wrong . And the less I say about the historical show the better it is . I read the WU since I wanted to know that how are they ending this show and trust me if King Ashoka was alive today then seeing the last episode he would have killed these channel and show makers or worst he would have died out of shock . Kaling war was made a joke in the show . Like really within 5 minutes everything was shown ... Kalinga war has been the turning point in Ashoka's life after which a humble Ashoka was known and it was not some love intrest of Ashoka like Kaurwaki who made him realise that how Kalinga war has brought destruction . After reading the update my only expression was *facepalm* . They just ruined the show . I guess after Chanakya's death the story started deviating from its main theme and all nonsense was shown . Anyways now there is no use of saying all this and one should learn from Indian shows that how to ruin a master show when its near to end ... There was no such scene of Mahendra and knife which makes Devi go away from Ashoka . The reason was something else and here they just showed like kuch bhi ... EK's CN is just a historical days love-hate story and nothing else . We see modern days love hate stories so EK thought of showing us a historical love-hate story .Originally posted by: ---Andromeda---

As predicted CN forum is full of actor worship. Rajatfan, fanatic, love u, love u to death and so on.And any criticism of the show is preceded by "no offence to Rajat fans, waiting for him" etc.Really makes me want to cry for what we have lost. None of us ever said, "no offence meant". None of us turned into lovesick fans of any actor.

My dear Rohini,
Depends on what you are looking at, or for. To me, the CN forum seems, as of now, to consist of a lot of criticism of the opening episodes. And you clearly have not seen my episode analyses, which are all up there on page 1 of the forum index. Or MDS' caustic takes.
There are very interesting history takes, including an excellent one about Chandragupta Maurya by a serious researched Abhay (history_geek).
Why do you focus only on and lament over the fans drooling over their star? I never used to look at their posts when I used to be writing in the Jodha Akbar forum. And it is, I expect, the same the world over, as my friends who frequent the US and UK fan forums tell me.
Here in the EDT, for all that there are so many very nice and intelligent young people around, the glue seemed, at least to me, to be that they were all invariably anti-something, basically the Barbie doll. There was next to nothing positive, no appreciation of the good scenes, that I saw in over 2 months. here.
Nor did I see much of broadminded acceptance of different views either when I, for once, posted a critical review of Devi towards the end. I was promptly dubbed hypocritical. No one but Subha stood up and defended my right to post my views, and even she did so on the premise that I was always objective. But that was not the point at all. Even had I been totally biased, I should still have been allowed to have my say in peace. So let us not generalise about tolerance here!
In any case, you still have the chat club, which I too have joined. It seems, as of now, to consist largely of Quackwaki jokes. The EDT is stuck in a time warp, it would seem!😉

The quackwaki jokes were only in the first pages. Now it's more about CN, Bahubali, Sid. 😉And I kind of agree with Rohini. Even in my posts people comment more waiting for Rajat or watching for Rajat than anything else. 😆

Not on mine, MDS, and even if they do, so what?
Most of them, including yours truly, have come to Chandra Nandini only for Rajat, just as I came first to CAS only for Siddharth and then returned to it only for Mohit. If Siddharth, whom I adored in Mahakumbh, had not been there, I would never have watched CAS at all. There are so many useless shows all over the place, and one cannot keep trying out all of them! There has to be some bait.
I do not see why one has to be so condescending about people who like an actor so much, and that in such a blanket fashion, as though it was something to be ashamed of and one should be proud of not doing it. I am here NOT talking of the kind of rabid fandom for Sanaya and Drashti - neither of whom I have watched so far - that you had written about in such horrifying detail.
There never was any such stuff on my JA threads, nor is there any now on my CN threads. Outside them, there was enormous Jodha worship, but as I never went near those threads, that hardly bothered me. Why should one go about looking for such stuff and then lamenting about it?
Incidentally, did you ever manage to watch Siddharth in Mahakumbh? He is one of the challengers in the ongoing JDJ, the only boy among 4 girls, and his performance last Saturday was excellent in its smooth athleticism. He is not a real dancer like Faisal Khan, but he is wonderful to watch. I plan to watch JDJ only for him - see??? 😉- and I very much hope he wins. In some of the pre-performance shots he looked exactly like the brooding Rudra in Mahakumbh, not like a Goody Two Shoes Ashoka Jr.
