During April 29 – May 5, 2024, Heeramandi was the second most-watched non-English show on Netflix globally. It received 4.5 million views, with 33 million viewership hours in its debut week, breaking the record for the most-viewed Indian series in its first week of release. It was trending at number-one in 10 countries and was among the top ten most-watched shows in 43 countries.

Bhansali Power!!

This one is also trending at no.1 in Bahrain and KSA region since a week. It beats the global success Baby Reindeer here and is no.1 since a week. A rarity for Indian shows overseas.

Not everybody can make a courtesan-soap opera with such grandeur...

Can someone tell me if he's like the most successful bollywood director ever? I mean, in terms of staying relevant and raking in the box office bucks. He's been the top director since the '90s, which is crazy. His contemporaries have long been faded away. Sure, there might be others who are technically better, but this guy's impact is massive.

In BW yes..absolutely

He is one of the best and biggest film-makers in the world. People were waiting for HM to flop but look at the madness around it. He is the biggest star director in BW right now..just bhansali's name attract crowds and viewers

For a direct to OTT content, it is too less for a 200 crore budget. The most expensive OTT series.

A film like Fighter got 5.9 million views on its debut week, after a full run at the theatres. It is a long series, it will get many more hours of viewership. But at that budget, it has to be seen how long it stays on top.

Trending in countries was shown for Darlings too..to build a fake perception.

SLB will still struggle to find a producer for his Love and war.It has been months since the announcement.

Thought it was a pretty good show actually.. Rimple and Harpreet did a good job with the outfits. The message at the end is quite empowering.

After a long time a really interesting question: Is Bhansali the most successful bollywood director ever?

Without any doubt is he one of the most recognisable Hindi Cinema directors of the last 3 decades...but "most successful ever"? No, I don't think so.

...and in a certain way he is - to me - what I (mostly) perceive: a lot of grandeur which hides (?) the flaws. My favourite Bhansali-movie is still his first one.
