and what a treat to watch... Japan was captured so so beautifully, even better than today's films at foreign locals. Cinematography was mind blowing.

uss zamany may shoq, passion aur mehnat say films banatay thaey, unlike the factory churning products of today.

Nobody is saying that the it happened for the first time in the 90s.for GOD's sake.

It just wasn't as trendy before. The prominence happened in the 90s.

Obviously there are multiple films from the 70s and beyond that were shot abroad

DDLJ for me.

HAHK was a snoozefest for me, hated the movie so much when I watched it when it released. I also didn’t like Salman’s and Madhuri’s pairing in the movie. Salman looked too young next to Madhuri.

Oh, I won't contest different likings and I have NO problems with people prefering Salman-Madhuri and their iconic movie.

I liked it, too. Although, when being asked to make a choice, DDLJ has more repeat value for me and it definitely is because of the story, the banter between SRK and Kajol and the development of characters.

As for YRF paying the MM theatre to screen this movie once a day...well...that may be true at a certain extend, but not for 27 years now (would like to know the sources that prove this - possible - fact).

DDLJ also is a movie that made a looooot of western people without south indian roots to get curious about Indian (Hindi) Cinema.

I watched it 2012 in Mumbai and the theatre was 2/3 full with people cheering and whistling although they had watched the movie already x times.

Maybe that would have been the same for HAHK...but somehow I doubt it. There is something in the romance between the protagonists in DDLJ that I find rather timeless (and less sugary than in HAHK)...but that is my perception...to each his/her own 😊

Rant all you want but Kajol is a NON LOOKER in front of Madhuri and many other actresses. She was never known for looks.

I spoke on looks because YOU PICKED AND SINGLED OUT my point on looks of the leads in my post in reply to someone else.

Deal with it. No one is denying success of that overrated loudspeaker, non dancer, non looker, non sexy, non versatile nepo girl Kajol. She ruled thanks to backing of YRF, Dharma and Khans. But she is, was and will always be NOWHERE in comparison to stardom of Madhuri Dixit.

Salman never got backing of YRF, Dharma or lollypops from Filmfare despite being nepo kid unlike Kajol.

Rest of your rant is something IDGAF about.

HAHK has better looking leads than below average looking leads of DDLJ. I stand by what I said.

Keep your so called 'unconventional' looking leads to yourself. SRK was never as handsome as Salman Khan. No other actor is. Salman can only be compared to likes of Dharam, Hrithik, Vinod Khanna if at all. Not to others. And Kajol never had and will never have gravitas to stand in comparison to Madhuri in ANY department be it looks, acting, grace, aura or stardom.

Deal with it. I am not here to defend obviously facts. If someone has inferiority complex then it is not my problem.

I stated my opinion in my post which was in response to someone else. You are the one who is dictating and lecturing me on other actors and getting defensive about their lack of looks.

Madhuri looked better than Kajol even without botox in younger days. Deal with it.

You can argue with anyone on any forum or carry a poll on looks. We shall see how many vote for Kajol over Madhuri or SRK of 90s over Salman Khan of 90s. 🤣

Salman and Madhuri of 90s were something else. Easily the most good looking male and female stars of the time when HAHK was made. That is why HAHK is a visual delight besides just opulent sets and grand weddings. Poor Kajol tried wearing green ghunghat to match Madhuri in joote do song only to fall FLAT. LMAO!

HAHK is what Adi Chopra copied in DDLJ wedding sequences. DDLJ is built on success of HAHK and MPK.

HAHK is still shown on TV every weekend and gets good ratings and is still inspiring TV serials and started many real life trends. So much for claiming nobody cares about HAHK. 😁

Even Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar were inspired to show weddings, functions and family scenes through HAHK, MPK success only.

Its songs are still played in every wedding and godh bharai and child birth functions. So much for claiming nobody cares about HAHK. 🤣

The denial and hatred are evident. But real life is not dictated by jealousy of fans.

HAHK is easily the most iconic Indian film along with Mother India, Mughal e Azam and Sholay and it earned more than DDLJ, had more footfalls than DDLJ, its inflation adjusted gross is also MORE than DDLJ. Cope.
