Actually Varun was offered a satellite deal 2-3 years back for his future films, but he has to let that deal go because of his contract with dharma at that time. Now I think he has signed that deal, I feel that because of some of his recent interviews.

That is why katrina said that the money from satellite collections will go to her. He would not have lowered his price but maybe given a part from his satellite deal. I am not sure though!!

Shraddha I guess must be taking around 6-7 crores.

If he did bag that deal then I say good for him. Instead of burdening the project figuring out profitable ways to make money is intelligent move also that will bring down the discrepancy in pay between the leads which is good for overall payparity movement (if it exists)

Yeah taking profit sharing or money from satellite deals is much better than taking 30-40 crores and burdening the producer. What if the film fails, the actor gets all the money but it is the producer who suffer huge losses.

Most of the times producer makes money too but the ones lower down the chain that is distributors n exhibitors that lose huge amounts and many times do not recover from it. There is a reason why there are very few theatres vis a vis our population n despite our craze for cinema!! Single screen theatres were bled to death by these greedy vultures (by these I dont mean anyone in particular)

Producers do have other options to make money, but in some cases they have suffered huge losses too. There is a reason why many production houses were shut down in past 2-3 years.

These actors take crazy money and then increase the budget of the movie. Producers should put their foot down and stop giving them so much of money. Imagine giving 30-40cr to these actors and then the films opens at less than half of this amount.

So this is the reason why there are less theaters in India, because movie industry churn out so many flops. I didn't knew that!!
