Thanks HKP for the video link to FB. Vandalism at its peak 😵. Although I would be more worried on the attacks on SLB and his set than this rangoli. This is bad no doubt, but that was worse. Wish SLB had taken a stand and lodged FIR back then.

Even more disturbing to see people brushing it off under PR gimmick category just because the movie release is close-by. If goons were condemned for a certain MNIK or Dilwale for whatever XYZ reason, I dont see any reason why it can be excused for a Padmavati.

These are India's right wing goons for you.

Rajasthan Govt took no action against Karni Sena when they attacked Bhansali.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad has threatened not to allow screening of Padmavati in UP.

Jai Rajputana Sangh also burnt posters of Padmavati and claimed it would attack theatres if movie was first not screened for them to ensure there was no derogatory scene in film.

Now Karni Sena strikes again.

These are all communal, casteist vigilantes nurtured by right wing parties and given freehand to attack filmmakers, artistes, owners of malls, multiplexes, cinema halls and random audience.

They also attack movies to extort money from producers, filmmakers and blackmail them. India Today TV exposed this racket by such self styled senas in India.

In coming days they will do more tamasha just as they attacked Jodha Akbar and Bajirao Mastani in past.

They feel more empowered under extreme RW regime in India. Where ministers at top level are protecting these vigilantes and rather using them for their attempts to take over culture, institutions and force own brand of nationalism.

Sometimes I don't find any difference between these goons and the ones they vociferously disparage.

Sometimes govt needs a slap from somewhere

They keot quiet during the ram rahim fiasco and the court took them to task for letting Hooligans rule.

Problem is, there are lot of retaliation and smear campaigns. Even if you are brave enough to protest, the follow through is a hard hard process

BJP is just pathetic. Haryana Govt was defending Ram Rahim and his goons till last moment, let them run amok and commit violence all over the state. Govt in Rajasthan, UP also failed to control dera violence.

RW spokespersons on national news channels were defending Ram Rahim as a Hindu saint and defended rampage by his goons as emotional outburst of devotees.

Similar apologists for Asaram and his murderous followers.

Centre's silence and pandering to such senas, babas have emboldened these vigilantes further.

I expect more attacks on theatres and plexes screening Padmavati when it actually releases besides defamation campaign against its team.

Only voters rejecting such fanatic feeding parties can solve matters and if industry has any shame then no artist should join such parties or support or campaign for them.

I can't believe Madhur Bhandarkar, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Vivek Agnihotri, Ashoke Pandit are silent at such attacks on filmmakers, artistes and threats, blackmailing of filmmakers.🤢
