Isnt child marriage punishable law in the india ?😕 If an adult who is above 18 years of age contracts child marriage, he shall be punishable with rigorous imprisonment for 2 years or with fine which may extend to one lakh rupees or both.🤔

Nope. As i said the marriage is voidable. Sexual relationships during chikd marriage aren't allowes under the new act and fall under marital rape.
There was a case like this where the girl waa minor and the guy aas adult..
Court specifically said that such a maffiage is not a valid marriage but it is also not invalid 😆
As i explained before, the said minor has the right to nullify the marriage within two years when he/she attains majority.
And, if the parents of such minor wants then they can have the minor 's custody.

Plus the one you are talking about onky appliies to males.

the said minor himself can nullify the marriage within two years of attaining adulthood but before that if it remains illegal till bride or groom are minors It becomes legal when the said minor does not report after attaining two years of majority

I am saying the same thing. 😆
And, since most if child marriages involve underage females, the law only provides for punishment of adult male who contracts a marriage with minor. there is no provision relating to an adult female.

So, if you see PPK was bang on with the technicality of laws 😆 well for most larts 😆

After reading the real law discussion here I must say indian law regarding child marriages are too weak No wonder the child marriage ratio is increasing than decreasing in the country The law needs to be more strong and whether its adult male or female the law should be same until the woman is not forced into it or sold by her parents
