I think because of this:😆

Vivek Oberoi: Are you telling me every film that has done 100 crore is a good film?

Vivek Oberoi is all set to star in his first web series Inside Edge which talks about the murky world of drugs and match fixing. He plays the baddie Vikrant Dhawan! Power is his drug. India.com met Vivek for a quick tete-a tete, where he looked extremely excited about the web series. The actor spoke his heart out with us. Since his next stint is a web series, we wanted to know how he will judge its success since there will be no box office numbers that give away if a film is good or bad. He retorted, "Today we have made box office the most important thing, weekend kitna tha, gross collection kya hai, India collection kya hai, it's a film, whether it made 5 or 500 crore, it shouldn't affect you, the important thing is you liked the film or not?

Thea actor looked upset by the fact that people today focus on numbers over appreciating good cinema, "People have forgotten the cinema side, they only talk about the business side, which is why I love web series, it doesn't have the bull shit business. We are not talking about Friday opening. Today Inside Edge promo is out and I can see the responses. Money is important, but it's not everything.

Further, he even asked a valid question, "Today numbers have become everything. Are you telling me every film that has done 100 crore is a good film? Masti did 30 crore business, Grand Masti did 110 crore, but I feel Masti is a much better film. It's not about the money, it's about content. I do what I like, I don't care about the box office numbers. Do you agree with the Bank Chor actor?

Talking further about his grey character he said, "I believe shades are paints and not actors. Actors play roles. In my mind, there are only two kinds of roles interesting and boring. Anything interesting, I will do it. Vikrant Dhawan is an interesting character to me, power is his drug, whatever he wants he finds a way to get it. That's what excited me. His life is all about betting, fixing matches and everything. I thoroughly enjoyed this character.

The first episode of Inside Edge will be out today. Are you excited to watch this thriller series?

You're welcome...I was searching google before for his source of wealth and saw this article, I so agree with him abt the 100 crore part

His web series sounds interesting.

LOL at ur PS 😆...I like your gung-ho attitude abt JJ...thats how it shd be...why shd we bother abt how much the movie makes? We are not getting a single paisa or penny out of the profits 😆

Im just excited abt watching JJ finally...I like both Basu and RK movies

So many movies which flopped before are considered classics now and people dont even remember some hit movies of old times

Yeah he does deserves to have a better career but sad that the press conference ruined everything? I made another thread where I asked what happened to his career? And most people said that Salman ruined his career, I wonder if Salman really had any contribution for ruining his career and if he did that press conference of his own or Ash told him to do that.

Is his career ruined ??? He just released a movie ?? Rather than making these topics go watch his movies that will actually help him 😆😆.

But no really wants to or cares to help him. They just need/want reasons to bash Salman. 😆😆

Yes! I was so impressed with his debut film Company. He chose such a grungy character to play. He nailed it. He was amazing in Saathiya. Another completely different character from the film Company. His comedic timing in Masti was great. He played a great villian in Shootout at Lokhandwala. I have no clue what happened after that...

It is not that he would have become Khans or Hritik Roshan. (Even before Salman drama happened, Hritik was much ahead of VO). But may be, he would have been like Saif Ali Khan or Shahid. But now also (compared to them), he has not done bad. Just like Abhishek Bacchan, he has to move on to character roles. In personal life, he seems to be doing fine.

true vivek was a very good actor.some of his movies like sathiya dum was very good.he was a star like srk at that time.he was very young at that time and got fooled by miss world who used him as a weapon against salman but cant blame her too she never declared her love publicly the way he used to do.anyways he is still doing better than abhishek bachchan.
