#HalfGirlfriend opens well! Finally, after several weeks of films proving to be non-starters, a Hindi film has taken a initial!

Just back from Half Girlfriend .Would have been much better movie had the director not messed up the last 30 minutes so bad .Once the girl goes missing ,the graph of the film goes downhill and never recovers .You just want the love story to be over at this point .

The film begins on a decent note .The chemistry between Shraddha Arjun is developed beautifully .The wonderful songs are like an icing on the cake .You are hooked to the film.The twist in the tale when Shraddha has an arguement with Arjun and leaves the college eventually is handled really well .

The second chapter is interesting as well although the portions involving a nagging mother is totally outdated .The romantic portions are really intense and you totally feel for the lovers .But what happens there after is totally disappointing as mentioned above .

The entire exercise in USA when Arjun starts searching for Shraddha is rather boring and poorly executed .The film needed a much better climax .

Arjun Kapoor does a decent job .He looks the part totally .Shraddha has never looked better .Such a pretty face .

Music is clearly the best part .They leave you mesmerized .Especially "Tu Thodi" and "Phir Bhi Tumko" ..

Overall a film that film that appeals in parts ..The climax is the biggest issue here when the suspense is revealed .It turns out to be anti climax.Disappointing!

I am following the thread just to know how badly it fails.


Half girlfriend is the WORST book I have ever read in my life, the hero Madhav is a total asshole, I couldnt believe my eyes with the words like 'Deti hai toh...' ... Very very bad taste and glorifying such cheap character does nothing but to increase insults against women in India. In CB's crooked mind, a guy like Madhav is a hero, where in reality one should stay 100 kms away from such shits.



I cannot believe my fav Arjun is here. But that cannot change the fact that I want this movie to fail SO badly that CB gets an idea where he went wrong.

I thought our resident BO guy said it would make 100 crores plus and I was wondering how. Anyways, let us see. Bad reviews have not stopped movies before.

To play devils advocate here, recently ADHM had a similar theme running throughout the movie. Madhav says the same thing as Ayan just in a different way ; in a more plush setting.

Love stories in India have always been this way , Chetan didn't write half girlfriend as a book but a film to begin with. This is what I felt when I even read the book 😆
