Kajol is that rare actress who has sustained her popularity over 22 years (her first hit Baazigar was released in 1993). But while most actresses veer towards alternate cinema, especially after the first flush of commercial success (Madhuri did a Gaj Gamini, Deepika does a Finding Fanny), Kajol's recent films have continued to be with big banners like Yash Raj and Karan Johar. And she continues to be paired opposite major heroes like Shah Rukh Khan in her recent success, Dilwale.

But the actress is totally game for edgier roles. She laughs, "I would love to be the villain; make me the villain of Dhoom 4! I would really be bad."

By now, it's common knowledge that Shah Rukh Khan is playing himself inFan and that is a double role and he plays the superstar as well as his biggest fan. Here's what you didn't know " that this is one of SRK's toughest roles. He says, "Fan has beem the most difficult film of my life and at the same time it's the most special film as well."

Fan is not a run-of-the-mill fan-meets-favourite superstar story. Maneesh Sharma has a different take to it altogether. Our source reveals, "Fan is not just about the love of the fan for his favourite superstar. In the film, eventually Gaurav and Aryan are pitted against each other and it's the superstar who plays the nemesis to the fan." The film has been styled in a similar fashion, too. Although the first two teasers haven't given out the story at all, Maneesh has dropped a major hint. What's it? The Fan logo has a crack on it. Now you would know why.

SRK who plays two characters will also be seen in two different ages in the film. He confirms, "What I do in Fan is what the film is about. Gaurav is 25 years old in the film and it's not because I want to play or look like a 25-year-old in my film. It's a story about a 25-year-old fan and a 45-year-old superstar. The character of Aryan Khanna has still not been introduced so when we reveal his look, the difference should be evident. When the comparison will come to the fore, it will look really beautiful, Inshallah!"

Namrata Rao, the editor of Fan, too indirectly confirmed the same. "Shah Rukh has balanced both roles very nicely. It's difficult to play both sides of the spectrum but in Fan, he's understood the psychology of both the characters really well. In fact, there's an action sequence in the end of the film where I just could not decide whose side I am on." Now you know what we mean!
