The body of work which aamir has truly deserves respect. I am personally not his fan but c'mon the guy has given some of the best movies in last 15 years

Lagaan, dil Chahata hai, rang de Basanti, fanaa, tare Zameen par, Ghajini, 3 idiots, Taalash, and now PK. He deserves credit for that. Again pretentious or not, he is amazing actor and has given some of the best movies.

As far as SMJ is concern, I don't know how genuine he was while discussing the issues but he addressed some huge issues. And I respect him for that.

Awww, I like how you can push aside your dislike and have a constructive opinion.

And I agree, I may not be fond of his off screen persona, but I definitely have enjoyed many of his movies and they are some of the most repeated movies of mine. As for SMJ, even if he had any personal or professional motives, I do believe the show was needed. And since one of the big stars is involved, these issues are being discussed. The same reason why I don't care why Being Human may have been created, but it is helping many folks in need. So regardless of my personal like or dislike for them, I wouldn't want to turn a blind eye to their good deeds even if they may come with exterior motives. End of the day, if people are getting help, I am all up for it...

He already got bashed for this blog when it came out.And I remember one of Aamir's fan posted a counter pro-Aamir blog too.From whatever I remember, even that blog made sense as much as this one.
