But BV released a week after Piku though 😒 Why din't Deepu's BO power & charm work there? So Ranbir's karma & listless and not happening career + Anu's repulsive face >>>>>>>>> Deepu's charm 😲

SRK's biggest hits have been with Kajol. ATBB's even.

Ohk so Badlapur was a HIT bcoz of low budget 😆 kinda agreed!!!
But then which young actors(except for RK) off-beat critically acclaimed film has been a HiT??? Lootera flopped, Arjun's Finding fanny flopped, Byomkesh bakshi flopped, even Shahid's Kaminey & Haider were average grossers.

Accept it or not but Badlapur had a good opening it earned 7.2Crores on Day 1 with an A certificate released in 1600 screens during world cup & exams. Plus it did'nt had any A list actress. Still Badlapur with NO repeat value managed to earn 52 crores and emerged as the 3rd Highest grosser of all times (amongst the A-rated films) and needless to say it is the 1st Clean Hit of 2015 😆

Exactly the A certificate needs to be taken into account when talking about Badlapur's success. It essentially cut of the majority of Varun's fan base, no single screen appeal and yet grossed 50 crores during world cup and exams. I think that's saying something

Some fans other newbies seem to not accept the truth. But let it be. 😆

None of Varun's film actually got a good release date. MTH & Badalpur came during IPL & World Cup, HSKD & ABCD 2 came during Ramadan with also dent done by weather. Yet people are claiming it's all low budget, director/producer. Even trades and industry giving him the credit but some lost bunch on IF are still in 'la la land'

Star power is not determined by a single film and by an individual performance. It is based on how well you can do over an extended period of time. Ranbir has done that. Varun has also done that, on a smaller scale. Ranveer is yet to do that. Simple as that.

Making a small budget film a success is also a big deal. Because usually such films will not have stars/low production values/usual masala elements/less or no publicity compared to big budget films. So its as tough if not more to make such a film work. DLKH had Ayushman whose previous film didnt even make 10cr despite a bigger budget/publicity. He was almost on his way out of BW. Who would have given him a chance? But the film made atleast 30cr despite that. And it could have easily made more. It released in 600 screens only and had zero promotions. Didnt release properly in India but had fantastic WOM. With that WOM it would have made atleast 50cr if it had a proper release.
