The main reason people in this thread are bashing her is because she doesn't speak positively about her country - that is what I was referring to...scroll the thread a bit and you will see. And who is she to talk about india? how about an indian citizen? Last i checked, she was one.

Whether you believe it or not, like it or not, celebs DO bring awareness to issues. Just like they're able to sell products they're able to bring attention to worthwhile causes and charities.

Freida is not influential enough to raise awareness.

She means nothing to Indians.

Also you discussed Freida making people face the music, and alleged that people hide issues under carpet - which hints as if no one knew about or discussed issues till Freida ji took them up.

Bringing bit of attention and making people face the music are two entirely different things.

She's from India. She's Indian. She's allowed to have an opinion of the country she's from. Some of the comments members are making here are really coming out of their rear.

well, you're the one who was whining about NRI making hateful comments about India. You're the one who wanted to limit or exclude them. Other than that, I think you might have an issue reading. Go read the article again. FYI- India-Forum doesn't mean it's only for Indians in India.
