as far as i know being marathi and staying in pune since long, Bajirao and in general, Peshawas were chief ministers to the king, Bhosale dynasty... Peshawas were Brahmins actually who got more importance and the real kings got sidelined...and so whoever plays this part, he needs to look more like that than a royal something.. :)

They were the mostly fair skinned, light eyed Chitpavan Brahmans. They were Prime Minister to the Maratha rulers, but they had all the power. Bajirao is the one of the Greatest Warrior in Indian history. He is supposed to have never lost a battle. But this movie is going to be all about his relationship with Mastani.

Just for reference, the guy who played Bajirao in a marathi show.



I think Ranveer will be fine. More than anything, I think he has the physique to look like a warrior.

hey thanks..i know the show...etv marathi right? yep, i have no issues @ ranveer playing bajirao..was just saying the guy needs to prepare to look like brahmins than like a typical king u knw ⭐️ tumhi pan marathi ka? 😛

I have no issue with Ranveer's looks as much as his body language. He lacks a certain "thehraav" that is needed in portraying historical characters. His screen presence is all over the place, there is no controlled energy. Preep also made a good point on his voice modulation. If he and SLB really work on these aspects then he will be fine.

Or else another miscast film.

Ranveer only has advantage of rugged masculine appeal but lacks maturity and control for period films.

i agree on voice modulation and personality.. But i think Ranveer as well as Bhansali knows what to do for that 😊. I believe after the release, we will be saying he was the best for Bajirao... because whatever Ranveer does, does with whole heart and putting a lot of effort... so ''thehraav, voice sab aajayega... and i think the director must have seen something in ranveer that he decided to cast... otherwise SLB doesn't compromise... his list of actors are all khans, HR, bachchans so he knows for sure what he is doing

Hey dont you know, Marathas were ugly bunch out all. We have all their pics and photographs to know. They were not Royal at all, na ji na.
