I am not sure D3 would have been such a big hit without Aamir. Expectations were sky high due to his presence and he marketed it like anything. That's why many were dissapointed with the film 'cos of the massive expectations Aamir creates. If sequels guarenteed massive success, Don 2 should have been BB. First part was very popular.

Don was never as big as Dhoom and neither was Dabangg...even Krishh is a bigger franchise than Don and Dabangg...and expectations would have been exactly the same if any of the Khans were there...because they are the same when it comes to stardom...

No I don't agree if Salman or Shahrukh were in dhoom, I am sure it would had done the same business or even more!

Like someone said here, don was never as big as dhoom was. Dhoom had Katrina, YRF movie, Franchise, Songs, abroad shooting as well and all of these things contributed to dhoom success. As much as I love PCee, I don't think she's as big star as katrina. Even don 1 wasn't blockbuster. Dhoom 2 was a blockbuster

aamir too has a lot of fans...but many are because of his movies nd acting...not his looks or charm

when people go to see a salman or srk film...they are more bothered about watching salman beating the shit out of villains nd srk's charm( well things might have changed a bit now..)...they watch the movies because of them nd are least bothered about the story...which describes their star power...salman ki film ko acting ya story ki zarurat nahi hai..

but same does not go with aamir...people expect a lot of quality work from him nd great acting...which pulls them to the theaters...ghajini was something new for bollywood then...can't say about dhoom3..abhi tak dekhi.nahi...
