One word BRILLIANT! I was excited a lot for this movie since I love this book and the movie stood upto my expectations ⭐️ Nothing OTT, very natural and real.

EVERYTHING was pitch perfect !!

Arjun-Alia' chemistry is awwwsome <3 My OTT now 😆

I am a fan of Arjun since Ishaqzaade and had loved Arjun from the trailer itself but wasnt impressed with Alia as I thought she did not look like a South Indian + that she looked young but NOO she wasnt ! To be honest she was the one who stood out in the whole movie! She played the role so effortlessly! Brilliant! She has immense screen presence! All the time I was watching her! This girl has the talent :D She is such a fine actress just at the age of 21, imagine what would happen when she would be 26-27? :D And she seems to be getting prettier as the day passes by.

Haha Alia has found a new fan in me :D And this is coming from one who immensely disliked her earlier !

And HONESTLY I did not like Amrita in this movie unlike most others. I found her OTT maybe because of her character? 🤔 Ananya's parents and Ronit Roy were better! OH MAN RONIT ROY ☺️ .. He is SUCH a fine actor damn! He looks so good too .. Why did not he make into BW? 😒

Music was great too! Still humming mast magan ❤️

And last but not the least the TEMPLE where their marraige took place!! GOSH!! SO BEAUTIFUL !! I WANT TO GO THERE! Anyone knows the place??

Amazing direction! I loved how they showed Alia getting ready. That was beautiful.

Cutest moment: When Krish brought rings even for her family. That was so cute 😆

The part which was hell impactful when Krish asks his mother, ki usne kya ukhad liya even when she married a punjabi 😆

Overall LOVED the movie! Not a movie with a very deep meaning but you wont regret spending your time and money on this.

I had seen the movie in real life what problem is faced by couples? When they belong from different caste an especially when they are going to get married.

After getting the third highest opening this year, Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor's film 2 States kept pulling footfalls and minted over Rs. 38 crore in its opening weekend.

ApunKaChoice had predicted that the opening weekend collection of '2 States' would fall between Rs. 34 crore to 40 crore. Well, we did get it right. The Abhishek Varman-directed film had a good opening on Friday with Rs. 12.42 crore at Indian box office. Since Friday was a holiday (Good Friday) some expected the collection to drop on Saturday. It didn't.

The film held its momentum and saw a very marginal dip to Rs. 12.13 crore nett on Saturday. That itself was the sign that the film was accepted by cine goers. The weekend was capped with a Rs. 13.51 crore booty on Sunday.

The break-up goes:
Friday: 12.42 crore
Saturday: 12.13 crore
Sunday: 13.51 crore
Opening weekend: Rs. 38.06 crore

Just to compare and get a better perspective: Alia Bhatt's previous release Highway had minted Rs. 13.97 crore in its opening weekend. Arjun Kapoor's last release Gunday had minted Rs. 43.93 crore in its opening weekend.

The other release of the week, Dekh Tamasha Dekh was washed out in the '2 States' wave gripping India.

The coming Friday would see three releases: Revolver Rani, Kaanchi and Samrat & Co.

One major reason why I liked the movie - Alia Bhatt!👏👏 she was outstanding as Ananya👏👏⭐️ I found her drab in promos...and considering I saw a huge spark in her performnce in highway...2 States promos disappointed me terribly...but she was amazzzing in the movie👏👏 right attitude, good expressions, screen presence and overall the feel of Ananya was right there

I thot the character of Krissh itself was kinda dull...so wont blame Arjun...

scenes were natural and sweet...music - locha-e-ulfat and mast magan stayed back with me ⭐️ and Revathy's scene of singing was so well done👏

overall they did not retain the fun element/ vibe from the book - and made it a bit more serious...but a not very bad adaptation

2.5 (overall movie) + 0.5 (for alia alone) = 3 star movie👏

Hi Raj :)

I have no idea but I am guessing, that he was kind of upset that Revathy is not practicing / working hard enough for the music, lolz...and was asking her to do more practice...he was one of those strict teachers who is never satisfied with students and their efforts :))
