Yeh, maybe if he was some doodh-wala from some god-forsaken village in the backwaters of bihar, then there is a high chance that he would never have heard of Tom Cruise, but Salman is a Bollywood actor, works in the entertainment industry, exposed to Hollywood, western popular culture, so it's almost certain that he knows.

It's hard to believe that Sallu does not know Tom Cruise. If it had been other way around it's quite believable . If you ask Bhaichung Bhutua who are Ronaldo and Messi, what would he say? Of course Bhutia knows both of them as all of them are in same profession. The only difference is Ronaldo and Messi play in much bigger platform
