I've had the absolute worst experience online when an online friend of almost 2 years "died" and I was informed by her fiance.

Met on the forum, and started chatting, even called each other a couple of times.

Turns out, she was very much alive. She faked not only her death, but pretty much her entire identity.

Stole some random girl's photos off of facebook and made up elaborate stories of family and friends.

Since then, I always approach cyber stories with caution and skepticism. If a girl that I knew for 2 years and talked to a couple of times on the phone could be a lie, then where is the guarantee with anyone?

Never trust any fool online I am sorry! but they are the biggest jokers and attention seeker! because for them a minor thing. Asked the people lying in the hostipal they are crying one good day of health in their life and here people making joke outta this thing. Many people Everyday fighting for their life and look here!

Gaurav, like others, I've seen your posts before and you've countless number of times threatened to leave yet come back with another erotic ID. That is why some are having a hard time believing this..especially when it's something so bizarre as Cancer. If you're diagnosed with it (which for your own sake, I hope you're lying) then I wish you nothing but recovery.

Desigal, I concur. I'm sorry you had to go thru that..if only the person on the other end realized how much such made up stories can affect people. My friend has gone thru something similar on FB and MSN, some people are just f**ked up. That is why I do not get attached on the online world..you just don't know what kinda nutjob is on the other end.

Please do not make a mockery out of cancer cos I am f**king sure you have no idea what the sufferer and the family goes through.

Gaurav, you actually expect people to sympathize with you when you're posting like it's a joke?

The use of a "sad" emoticon, following 2 statements with a dramatic title?

Step back for a moment.

God forbid, if you were diagnosed with cancer, IF should be the last place to be spending your time.

Second, even if you want to be on IF, I'm assuming you'd be using IF as an escape vehicle, in which case, you wouldnt wanna be reminded of your disease online.

Third, if you wanted to inform fellow IFers, there are definite better ways of doing it. Much much more sensitive and heartfelt that this.

I dont know what you're on about, but I hope you're ok.

If this is a lie, it's very distasteful and pathetic.
