OK guys - just to clarify again - DCE has always been in a league of its own. For any Delhi student of my generation DCE came right after IITs. No one in their right mind would ditch an admission to DCE to go study at an REC/NIT.

I guess it's hard to figure out its stature because it's very unique. Through most of its history it has been affiliated to Delhi University and mostly reserved for students educated in Delhi schools.

None of the NITs compare. They are all renamed RECs - that's not even in the same league as DCE.

I was about to add this actually. If I am not wrong SSR is from Bihar. People in North might be having a great impression about DCE and other Delhi colleges. I cannot say for sure since I dont live in the North. Like Bengalis will prefer Jadabpur or Shibpur over many IITs. 😆

It takes a lot of guts to pursue a career in the entertainment industry when you are doing extremely well in studies! Hats off to Sushant, he followed his heart and dreams...and now he is all set to sweep year 2014's best newcomer male awards.

Sushant and Ankita make a really good looking couple and they seem so in love! <3

Not just people in the North - DCE has always been considered an excellent college - it's just that it's so bloody hard to get into if you didn't study in Delhi (that is had no Delhi domicile).

Think of DCE as the Jadavpur of Delhi - that is the exact analogy because Jadavpur is also a full fledged university with an engineering department (DCE was an affiliated college - not just a department of DU).

Shibpur has history - it's pretty much India's oldest engineering college - but I doubt anyone would pick Shibpur over an IIT 😆 (Several of my family members graduated from Shibpur - so no dissing here!)

Well it must have to do with the fact that probably DCE (now called DTU) ranked higher in the list of best engineering college of India than the IITs he was qualifying for. In 2013's list IIT Guwahati comes one rank after DTU which has been ranked at position 8 in top 100 engineering colleges. Being an IIT institute does not mean its better than some other established engineering colleges. An IIT institute opened this year would rank last. And DCE has consistently been in the top 15 for years now, so its not any less known. A student of DCE will have much more standing in the market than a student of IIT Vadodra which was established this year.

You guys are shocked that he's so smart?!? I was too during Kis desh when both he and Harshad said they ditched Engineering for acting. At least Sushant succeeded while Harshad is no where to be seen sadly

No test for any engineering here just good marks and a high school diploma..😆

Banda itna intelligent hai isse Ankita hi mili thi 🤢

EDIT: My John is also highly educated ehh.. he's an MBA..Sushi can't take all the credit..
