@Xaffron: Yes 😳 It's like they both are actresses & dancers but its Juhi who would score over madhuri in acting & in dancing its madhuri who would win over Juhi :D

yh that is one of the first movies followed by dil that comes to my mind when i think of her and i'll be damned if i say she isnt good !! she was just brilliant in all of them!!👍🏼

Juhi Chawla was amazing but couldn't match up to MD because:

- no PR (hence no credit for any other successful film she managed post HHRPK and Darr)

- too blunt, not at all diplomatic with either actors or filmmakers, she rubbed many the wrong way

- got trapped in child woman/cute girl image, failed to appeal to wider age groups

- went wrong in choice of films, did some trashy films, rejected films like Raja Hindustani, JJWS, Mrityudand

- she did attempt skin-show/item type stuff but did not succeed with them, she did not opt for slightly more mature roles (like Karishma upgraded to Zubeida/Fiza/HSSH from college girl roles)

- she never gave a big hit where she stole the show from the hero (HHRPK was successful but not huge)

- she did many films as just favour to friends

- she began to stick more to comedy after success of HHRPK and stopped showing her sensitive side. Her comedy had also become predictable.

- she just failed to form a successful partnership with others - directors, choreographers, actors. Only her pairing with Aamir was significant and even among their films only QSQT, HHRPK and Ishq were successful (latter two weren't huge).

- she didn't have many hit songs to her credit

- she herself was kind of laidback, easy going about her career and lacked ambition

- her USP was her cuteness and one can't last much only for cuteness! Towards the late 90s when she began losing those innocent cute looks and looked older it was game over for her.

- Kajol, Karishma and later even Raveena handled their career well by either doing big films, mature roles or teaming with Govinda in David Dhawan films/SRK in YRF/Dharma films. And arrival of Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta affected cute Juhi's market even more. Juhi just failed to redefine herself.

I've always loved Juhi but think of her as a wasted potential. :(

Juhi had a girl next door kind of image for most of her career. While Madhuri was every man's fantasy.

Cos Juhi's main strength was her comic timing, she tended to be a bit melodramatic otherwise. Madhuri had more range.
Much prefer(red) Juhi onscreen and off screen however. And after her 'comeback' she's become more restrained in emotional scenes.

Juhi is great in comedy and cute kind of roles but she never experimented. Got stuck in one kind of genre.
